A Masterpiece of a Drama, Absolutely Brilliant.

This is a Stunning and Amazing Drama, The Acting from every character is Wonderful, even the children were Superb. The Male and Female leads were totally fabulous. This Drama stands alongside Crash Landing and Eternal Monarch at the Shared Number One top of my List of Best Dramas. I cannot adequtely describe the impact this made on me. The Actors expressed every possibe emotion and totally captivated their audience. They all deserved Oscars for their performance. I have noticed recently that K Dramas have abansoned their briiliant Dramas in favour of Horrors, Action and Zombies. What a shame. K Dramas saved my sanity during Lockdown. I have exhaisted all on Netflix and Viki and have since moved on to great C Dramas. Asian Dramas leave Hollywood for dead now. I absolutely loved this. Both Leads are stunning.

This story hits hard when you've been through some bad things.

I found myself watching this story for the poems/books, the plot itself is good, but the healing journey is what kept me going until the end.
It kept me going because I'm on a healing journey myself and the stories in the books moved me in a way that I ended up buying them even though I can't read Korean lol
Especially The child who feeds on nightmares and The Cheerful Dog
I really liked the way in which the various types of relationships are shown especially the relationship between the brothers and the best friend.
The plot that comes with the FL's mother is interesting, but that's not why I watched this series.

Amazing characters with amazing plot and amazing screenplay!!!!

It's an amazing drama, and from start to finish it will grasp your full attention! The female lead brings something fresh as she isn't the typical soft-spoken lead you often find in Kdramas. Her whole character especially at the start of the drama will have you glued to the screen! The character development of both male & female leads are entertaining to watch! There really isn't a strong love triangle in the drama which I appreciated. Although, there was potential for a love triangle, it wasn't seriously considered in the plot. It's the best kdrama I have watched so far with amazing OST as well!

I ugly cried so hard

This series is real. It explores all the ways humans simply are - and what makes them the way they are. The directing is almost self-aware: not quite fantasy, but taking on real elements of it and weaving the fairy tales in. I absolutely loved the directing and screenplay of this. The acting also did its job - not over the top, not lacking in any way; simply just conveying what needed to be conveyed.

I do tend to cry when I watch things, but this one got me in the feels on another level. Obviously it was picked to maximally convey such feelings (autistic brother, lack of parental presence, mental illness yada yada) but hey I can deal with a bit of unrealistic setting if you make it like a fairy tale :)

Beautiful art for the children's book

Ye Ji interpretation as a selfish and annoying woman is perfect. Makes me wonder if she's really like that in real life. Her outfits are so remarkable, and you can see their changes alongside with her personality, through time.

Soo Hyun makes a good effort to portrait a guy who's always holding his feelings.

The story isn't a great surprise, but there's not great loose ends either. I think the interesting thing here is the psychological approach, to understand characters motivations, traumas and how to deal with it.

But by far, my appreciation for this drama are the books. The animated the books and I felt like a child, thinking how amazing all of that was. The lines, the colors, the music, everything was so immersive. Amazing.

amazing must watch

If you are looking for a good drama without that typical romance plot you rather watch something knew this is for you it is romantic but not too much is unusual how the leads show their emotion and or affection they are both healing mentally it is drama that is really focused on mental health and its disorders its very psych-heavy and a little dark.
The acting is just wow is a drama that will drag you in from the first episodes.
If you are looking for a sweet drama this is not for you but you should give it a try if you are up for something knew of course it has its romance but it is portrayed different with a boss b###h of female lead and a caring male lead that is not necessarily fond of the FL
Is a really aesthetical pleasing drama with a great production and acting

A Mesmerizing Tale of Healing and Love

"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is a standout Korean drama that beautifully intertwines themes of mental health, healing, and romance. With its exceptional storytelling, captivating performances, and stunning visuals, this series is a must-watch for anyone seeking a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience. The drama follows Moon Gang-tae, a caregiver at a psychiatric hospital, and Ko Moon-young, a successful but emotionally troubled children's book author. Their paths cross in unexpected ways, leading to a journey of healing and self-discovery for both. The series masterfully explores the complexities of their pasts, the impact of trauma, and the power of love and acceptance.

Moon Gang-tae : Gang-tae is a compassionate and selfless caregiver who has dedicated his life to taking care of his autistic older brother, Sang-tae. Kim Soo-hyun delivers a nuanced performance, capturing Gang-tae's inner turmoil and his gradual journey towards self-acceptance and emotional liberation.

Her portrayal of Moon-young's emotional struggles and her evolving relationship with Gang-tae is both powerful and poignant.
Moon Sang-tae : Sang-tae, Gang-tae's brother, is a character who brings both heart and humor to the series. Oh Jung-se's portrayal of an autistic adult navigating the world with his unique perspective is both respectful and deeply moving, adding a layer of authenticity to the show.

Visual and Sound Design:
"It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is visually stunning, with its fairy-tale-like settings and meticulous attention to detail. The cinematography captures the whimsical and often dark elements of the story, enhancing the overall narrative. may contain trigger, but the series is amazing

even approaching a delicate subject, the series remains constant, the acting is impeccable, in addition to incredible plottwists, I always passed by, and I didn't watch it because of the trailer, but when I decided to watch it I just didn't stop, it's extremely well constructed, and you realize it wasn't done haphazardly, a great script, in addition to the in-depth problems, each character has its story, in addition to being well built, the emotions of the character being demonstrated in the character, and an extremely good point, and genius

What remains with me after watching this series is that, indeed, we're all struggling with emotional pain of some kind, but owning up to it and being compassionate about it is what makes us human. You'll probably find a mirror to your own insecurities and woes in any of the characters. The story portrays love at large in a heart-wrenchingly vulnerable way, so I don't think most people can finish the whole series without shedding at least a few tears. The characters are complex yet relatable, and most importantly, they are consistently interesting and never become dull. The cast is superb and the OST is already in my Spotify playlist.

More Than Just A Boy Loves Girl

Admittedly, the first 2 episodes of this drama had me bored. I was ready to drop it. You are assaulted with the relationship and it's easy to get into that, "I'm a professional K-Drama-er" mindset and have yourself convinced you know exactly how the story is going to go. Then it really starts taking a dive into the story and it becomes one giant rollercoaster of emotions that have you questioning all the things.

While the acting was dry at some points, the actors were amazing. I know that doesn't sound right, but I don't know how else to explain it. The parts were played well, they were believable and relatable. The story was beautifully portrayed by the cast.

Was there music? I know there was, but I honestly can't say that it was super memorable.

I don't know if I'd rewatch this. Yes, I absolutely enjoyed this drama, but I don't think I could handle the emotional curves your constantly thrown, even if I do know what's going on already.

Overall, once I hit E3, I was hooked to this drama. The story is captivating, the settings are perfectly Tim Burton-esque, and how relatable it all was really hit home. Yes, it's a love story, but it's a different kind of love story, it's a mental health exploration, it's a put yourself first type story. I'm here for it.

A complete world of emotional war

Where should I begin with? This drama is just a GOLD.

Superb acting by the main leads. And my favorite strongest female lead Seo Ye-ji.
Just go for it. I am out of words to explain this great piece. Just watch it.

It has sad moments with joyful ones. Fighting with the past is hard and can be tricky but with the love and support of our close ones, we can overcome anything. A clear-cut drama that focuses on how a human would feel when he is mentally challenged with real-life responsibilities, The drama has many cheerful moments and you can connect to the main leads.
The ending was also satisfying and make you fall in love with the plot.

it's a great kdrama standard -so fresh and original, it definitely stands out-

You like psychology? This is the show for you.
→ trauma, neurodiversity representation*, three dimensional characters with development done right and they demystified the portrayal of antisocial personality disorder.
*it sucks that it's portrayed by a neurotypical actor, but just the fact this character was written is already a start (we gotta see the progress).
There are scenes that I felt were a little too much, but the other amazing scenes made up for it.
The only thing that bothered me is that she harassed him quite a lot at first. I know it's supposed to be funny, but men can be victims to abuse and women can be perpetrators. Women are the majority of the victims but there is a percentage of men too and they should be respected, not treated as a joke. It's a fucked up double standard, if he acted the way she did I think the repercussions would be different. --Since it's not the main part of the series I still love it, but just because we like something doesn't mean we get to ignore what could harmful.--
