hands down the best modern romance cdrama this year !!

i honestly don't even know where to start with this review. this drama hit all the right feels and emotions. i actually didn't have too high of expectations for this drama cause i saw all the cliches and we've had enough office romances this year. but the plot, actors, directing definitely proved me wrong. here's a breakdown of stuff i liked and didn't like:
- i really loved the plot development and although the mains had the childhood friend troop, it was really effective and served as a big part of them re-developing their relationship
- the cast is something i will never stop talking about, they for real carried the whole show and made me want to watch more
- everyone acted their roles so well, props to the casting people for casting this amazing cast
- there are so many couples/ pairings omg i think like 6, there will defiantly be a couple you'll like
- the mains chemistry is something i can not explain, it's just so gooood from their bickering to their cuteness, ahh i can't ever get over
- the setting and cinematography is woww rlly raised the level of cdrama production for me
- so many funny moments, i would like to thank the screenwriters cause i literally fell on my floor in one of the scenes
- wang cai is the cutest
here's some things i think could be improved on:
- i rlly wanted to jiang jun to maybe do something that proved her love for yuan shuai since i though it was always him covering and taking care of her
- du lei i just don't understand sometimes, but gao hanyu portrayed him v well
- the ending ughh i felt like it was a bit rushed, i wanted to see more of each character but ig we'll just have to hope for a season 2 !!
overall an amazing watch w outstanding production, directing, acting. 10/10 recommend for everyone and anyone.

A GOOD SWEET ROMANCE DRAMA FOR BEGINNER

YOOOO EVERYBODEHH

I give this drama a 9, not because of anything but I feel like the ending is not as sweet as I thought it would be.. butt OVERALL I LOVE THIS DRAMA! I even watched episode 1-19 twice already.... I love how the chemistry is really good between the main characters, the cinematography is also pretty good! I mean we can see how the background setting suits well the conversation they had. In addition, I love love love love both jiangjun and yuanshuai! THIS DRAMA IS A MUST WATCH FOR ALL OF ASIAN DRAMA LOVERS!!. 36 EPISODES FEELS LIKE 12 EPS! I LOVE THE FUNNY MOMENTS IN THE DRAMA SO BADLY!

great music! I love the one titled "things I do for love" that is the best!!!
acting also very good!!
REWATCH VALUE 9.5!
STORYLINE IS VERY GOOD AS WELL! I love how the writer create a few small conflicts and the resolution is fast, and not dragged along the drama. pretty much for all the conflicts occurred, the resolutions are happening within 3 episodes which is really good!

AMAZING SHOW!!

YOU CAN’T MISS THIS!!!

“Love Is Sweet” started off as a really “sweet” modern drama, but later got into darker and more mature topics such as law and bullying. This drama was very different from the modern dramas I usually watch, because I don’t usually like them in a business setting. “Love Is Sweet”, however, proved me wrong. You can enjoy a good drama no matter what it’s about.
The storyline was entertaining for me. Not only was there baffling plot twists, but there was also lots of humor. I also liked how the drama showed how strong women can be and how we can also being in business industries such as investment. After watching this drama, I only hope that there will be women as strong and as smart like Jiang Jun, in reality. Since she’s allergic to tears, the chance of her success in the industry was low, but that didn’t dampen her confidence and actually boosted her effort to keep going.
A good drama calls for a even better cast, and “Love Is Sweet” no doubt had one of the best casts I’d ever came across. Bai Lu was definitely the first person that came to my mind when I thought of Jiang Jun, and she suited the character perfectly. Such a talented actress like Bai Lu never disappoints me. This was the first time I’d seen Luo YunXi in a drama- and let me just say- for a somewhat newly debuted actor, his skills are basically in line with someone who’s been in the film industry for years. The way he suits every character he plays is extremely professional, and he does it so well! In fact, after watching “Love Is Sweet”, I ran over to “Ashes of Love”, and YunXi displayed the same amount of work ethic and talent that called for the very success of this drama. Apart from the main lead, however, the second leads were also amazing. The chemistry was totally insane in this drama, so kudos to the actors/actresses!
I really enjoyed this drama in general; good story, great cast, perfect OST, and a wonderful crew for making this all possible. I really recommend “Love Is Sweet” if you’re looking for one heck of a lovely modern drama!

Bai Lu fell on my radar a few years ago with King is Not Easy and I was instantly taken with her charming smile and bubbly persona. I have thirsted after Leo Luo ever since My Sunshine came out, and desperately checked his drama list often in the hope that he'd eventually lead a drama. The day is here and I cannot be happier that it's with Bai Lu. Both of them manage to produce such natural chemistry with their co-stars, and this time was no different- if I'm giving this drama an 8, it's purely, PURELY, because of them. It's so rare, but they actually acted like legit couples in that they were affectionate and touchy-feely. Very often drama couples continue to be so shy around each other even after dating for a while, which is ridiculously unrealistic and boring. Thank god there is none of that here!

Because the drama itself? Mediocre. I really didn't care about the secondary characters, and I skipped nearly all their scenes. It still annoys me that they relegated someone as talented and cute as Riley Wang to just a love interest for the female lead's best friend. The second male lead was annoying at best, but honestly, I hate what they did to him by the end. I wasn't his biggest fan by any means, but was it really necessary to turn him into the corrupt village creep? Honestly, I found myself wishing they ended the show at 30 episodes, it seemed like a decent way to end with everyone coming out better and grown. I am happy that we got more time with Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai, but the way they twisted Du Lei's character was so unnecessary.

Also, the women in this drama were dressed SO bad. Honest to God, everything they wore was absolutely terrible. The men, comparatively, were dressed incredibly well, which made the contrast even worse. It became marginally better towards the end, and by marginally, I mean they finally removed that ugly-ass oversized check jacket and boyfriend jeans off Bai Lu. That alone made a world of difference.

PERFECT ROMCOM WITHOUT TOO MUCH DRAMA AND A LOT OF SWEET ROMANCE !!

If you love yourself a cliché rom-com, but WITHOUT the frustrating love triangle or too much unnecessary drama, only small misunderstandings that are resolved VERY maturely then you have to watch this drama. Sure the plot isn't very unique but the drama is incredibly entertaining and even the cliché's are well done tbh.

One of the few dramas where the main leads are actually carrying the whole drama. The chemistry was off the charts, like I wasn't even exclusively waiting for the couple to get together cause even before they became an official couple it already seemed like they were in a relationship for years (probably cause they're childhood friends), but they understand each other so well and even when problems ensued it wasn't dragged they were just mad at each other (like normal human beings) and they both resolve their misunderstandings very cutely, quickly and maturely, it was adorable to watch honestly. As well as the friendships that have been made in this drama, it's very very wholesome to watch honestly, the drama has so many sweet moments and fluff, it kept me smiling.

I would definitely watch this again, it's a light hearted rom-com to pass time without getting frustrated at the the main leads so it's a really easy watch, it didn't even feel like it was a really long drama, the entire flow of the drama was natural (maybe a little rushed towards the end but not too bad, maybe cause it was supposed to be a 40 episode drama originally). Not even exaggerating when I say this has become one of my favourite Chinese dramas of all time, honestly wish it was longer which is rare for me to want especially from a c-drama.

Definitely would recommend you to watch the drama if you haven't but do not start the drama thinking it's a new concept or anything it's just one of the best dramas produced of the rom-com genre, the storyline, the acting, it was all so good that's why it's getting so much praise, also do not start the drama and make assumptions right off the bat cause so many have done that only for it to be wrong, and yes the female lead is actually smart for once. The male lead is incredibly smart and is always winning but the female lead is also very smart even if you may think at times she's not, but she actually is and from the beginning till the end she is.

Overall, I just really enjoyed watching this drama, from the entire flow of the storyline, to the acting and the chemistry between the actors/actresses as well as the music which was incredibly good, wish more dramas were like this.

Bailu x Luo Yunxi <3

TBH the plot wasn't really my cup of tea. Not interested in modern office dramas and thought the allergy to crying wasn't really necessary. In the beginning I kept getting annoyed bc the ML was mean and kinda misogynistic and was waiting for FL to do more in her career or I don't know what. What saved this show is the chemistry between Bailu and Luo Yunxi. They took a bad drama and made it lovable. A+ chemistry plus a lot of corny moments that are iconic. Also my first time seeing such intense kiss scenes in a cdrama and was screaming lmao

A Sweet Love Story A Must Watch for All C-Drama Fans

Oh my goodness. This was such a sweet drama to enjoy, literally. If you want a sweet drama, THIS is the drama for you. The chemistry between the leads is Super-Duper on/off-screen. They were the cutest I have ever seen. And I've never seen any of Bai Lu's drama before so this really was adorable to watch.

Kido and Riley Wang were also cute. Though, I think I preferred Riley after the 30th episode, oh, and speaking of 30 episodes. I will let you know that IF you want, you CAN stop at episode 30. I'm pretending that the last 6 episodes are considered "extra special" episodes because the way episode 30 ended was perfect, but having that extra 6 episode was adorable. I will say, don't watch half of episode 34. I wanted to punch Du Lei for trying to force Jiang Jun to love him. Like, if she hasn't seen you any more than a teacher figure after the 3 years of knowing him, it's a hint that she loves Yuan Shuai more than you can ever know. Urgh. Episode 34 made me so angry. URGH!

Episode 20 made me cry so much all because of the amazing kiss. I loved that Bai Lu came up with the idea of that kiss scene and my goodness, my heart melted for the scene along with it being timed perfectly with the music and URGH, I thought My Unicorn Girl had a sweet kiss scene. Well, nothing beats episode 20 of Love Is Sweet. Out of all the c-dramas I've watched so far, this one is above 100%.

In the end, all the actors have done a good job portraying their character. I still cannot handle Du Lei. I think out of all the characters that really bugged me the most, it would have to be Du Lei.

Music. Now, let's talk about music. The music is amazing! I even downloaded each of the songs and I'm someone who doesn't have a lot of c-dramas OST, but this c-drama had so many songs and each of those songs was perfect. It literally fits the spot where it belonged. Not only did I really enjoy the story, I mostly enjoyed the music.

Sizzling chemistry!!!

Should you? Would you? Could you?
You should watch this one (YES! )
You would recommend this to others. (YES!)
You could watch this again. (YES)

Ending: All’s well that end’s well

If you want to watch a “mostly” stress-free drama with a lot of chemistry between the two main lead pairs, then this is the one for you.
While you have the main lead pair knowing each other from childhood, the other lead pair is the typical FL falling in love with the ML and her chase. But what is good is their repartee which doesn’t let you fast forward.
The FL has a severe allergy to her own tears which makes her faint every time she sheds them. The ML vows to protect her from crying and catches her every time she drops down. They are so comfortable with each other that it doesn’t seem like a drama but a window to their actual world....that's how good their acting is. They are childhood friends turned hostile (on the FL’s part). They work together and the story takes on a mysterious tone when the subject of the FL’s father’s death is brought in.
The mystery is resolved. Some misunderstandings occur but are dispelled eventually.
But all this wouldn’t be complete without the stellar acting of the negative ML brilliantly portrayed by Kido Gao as Du Lei. What a performance! What an actor he is! He reminded me of Kim Woo Bin from The Heirs. Brilliant turn of emotions. Brilliant change of character from negative to positive and negative again. The only drawback I found was the over the top expressions some of the times.
The supporting cast is equally good too.

Towards the end:
I loved the fact that we lived through the ML’s (both pairs) love with them for a span of 6 extra episodes instead of just a moment of happy ending. And I loved the proposal which strangely brought tears to my eyes. I felt as if I rode along their journey of love with them and was happy to see it culminate in the perfect ending that was.

All in all, It's a good drama with a typical love story brought to life by good acting thanks to the entire cast.

The amazing Friendship, the secret crush, the heart healing Love will surely make you fall in love!

A single word is enough to describe and justify this drama -- "PERFECT"
It's perfect with the whole story, the casts , the supporting casts, the 2nd leads, the steamy office romance, the overloaded cuteness of Yuan Shuai( Luo Yinxi) and Jiang Jun ( Bai Lu) , the beautiful ost of this drama, sung by some of the talented casts ( like Riley, Gao, Ann) , the strong friendship, the beautiful understanding of Yuan and Jun , their cuteness (oh my god!), -- everything is so much real! which makes your heart melt.
Today the drama ended, like something very special has just evaporate from my life. The main OST of this drama , "THINGS I DO FOR LOVE"
will make you fall in love with them again and again!
Please do watch! It's gonna be surely your most favorite C drama. I have never been so confident. It's PERFECTLY PERFECT!
Just enjoy the essence of love, friendship and crush...........

A Timeless Gem

Hey fellow drama enthusiasts! 😄 So, I know I'm fashionably late to the review party, but hear me out. I only recently started jotting down my drama thoughts post "Hidden Love," and let's be honest, how could I not give a shoutout to my all-time favorite, "Love is Sweet"? 💖

Let's rewind a bit. I embarked on this delightful drama journey two years ago, and guess what? "Love is Sweet" was the first and, hands down, the ultimate best drama I've ever encountered. And no, I'm not saying it's the best; I'm screaming it's the "all-time best." 🌟

Now, I'm not usually the type to rewatch dramas endlessly. I mean, who has the time, right? But this masterpiece? I've lost count at seven rewatches, and you know what? It still hits me right in the feels every single time. I've dabbled in other dramas, like "Hidden Love," "Alchemy of Souls S1 and S2," and the ever-popular "Dr. Romantic." Don't get me wrong; they're good, but after a few rounds, the magic tends to fade. 🌈

Now, let's talk about "Love is Sweet." This drama is a gem, an absolute gem. It's got that timeless quality that keeps me hooked, entertained, and emotionally invested, no matter how many times I've seen it. The chemistry between Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu is pure magic. I can't get enough of their stellar performances. ✨

So, if you haven't embarked on this journey yet, do yourself a favor and dive into "Love is Sweet." Trust me; you won't be disappointed. It's not just a drama; it's an experience. Happy watching, fellow drama addicts! 🍿👀

FINALLY a drama that I was stoked about and didn't let me down. Love is Sweet is hands down the best modern C-drama I have watched till date. From end to finish, it kept me hooked and I managed to stay invested in a currently airing drama. This drama has its shortcomings but makes for a very entertaining romance drama. It retains the light and comedic moments throughout and the romance made me swoon in all the episodes.

PLOT + CHARACTERS:
The plot was very interesting to me. Most dramas revolve around childhood lovers with tragedy. Here it had to do with misunderstandings and giving your old friend/ lover another chance. There were times this drama was too cool and other times when it was laughable. Our ML is an all-round perfect guy and the best dramaland boyfriend that can exist. Yuan Shuai is good at everything and loves selflessly. There were times he needed to grow and that is where this drama both hit and didn't hit the mark. However our leads have a very natural chemistry and remain somewhat stable after getting together which is the highlight of the drama. The supporting cast was good but I'd like to mention Qiao Na here specifically who started off as a jealous 2nd FL but grows and becomes one of the best characters. In fact there were times when the FL was not that fun because she was a basic girl. However, I like the fact that she wanted to make herself into a successful person and worked hard.

ACTING:
Leo Luo takes the spotlight here. He was immensely charming, good-looking and displayed the emotions quite right. He has been deserving of being a ML for a while and I am glad to see him shine here finally. Bai Lu was cute as usual and I loved her chemistry with Leo. It kind of made me forget her chemistry with Xu Kai lol. Rest of the cast was alright but Riley wasn't that great. It's my first time seeing Kido Gao here and he was okay but maybe not the best.

ROMANCE:
Watch this drama for romance! The stares, holding hands, kisses - lots and LOTS of them gave me butterflies in the stomach. I have not seen such great skinship and natural interactions between the leads in a modern C-drama. It was awesome and raised the bar for other dramas for me. Everything from the first meeting to the "first time"- everything was downright perfect.

OST:
It was a nice OST and the songs blended well with the mood of the drama.

REWATCH:
Very much rewatchable. The leads are legendary for me. <3

OVERALL:
Don't let the corporate side or the silly "disability" of the heroine put you off. This drama is a modern romance gem and I don't think any other drama will live up to it for a while. I had a few issues with certain side characters or sub-plots but all was forgettable because the good and funny parts are THAT good. The comedy was a main factor and that helped the drama retain its light mood till the end. I highly recommend this drama and this is coming from someone who is very choosy and critical of romance dramas in general.

Hope you give this drama a chance.

An amazing drama after a long time!!

I want to start off by saying that this is my personal opinion. I loved the drama very very much. Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai’s acting was on point from the start till the end. Yuan Shuai was such a perfect male lead. I believe he did so so much for Jiang Jun. I liked that there were no break ups or major misunderstandings. It was simple, sweet, romantic and on point. The rest of the cast were also quite amazing. Su Chang made me laugh almost every time he appeared and so did LXC and XL. I liked that Xue Li took the initiative for her love and she was such a good friend to Jiang Jun.
One other thing I wanted to mention was the actors dress sense. I was screaming almost every minute of the drama.
I think the directors and producers did a great job.
Will miss this drama a lot and won’t forget it ever.
