Reset Is An Actual TREASURE and Here’s Why…
Frankly speaking, this was probably the BEST modern/mystery c-drama I’d ever seen! I’m not even exaggerating, because from top to bottom, this drama was attention catching the entire way. I started this drama, not knowing where it would lead to and whether or not I’d like it at all. However, watching “Reset” was one of the best decisions I had ever made in dramaland. The story- my gosh the plot was so well planned out, it kept me wondering desperately for DAYS about what was going to happen next. I just couldn’t stop watching! The cast- it was all too perfect. Not only were the two main leads GREATLY compatible with one another, they expressed emotions so naturally it was almost like I was watching a fascinating documentary. The rest of the cast also gave off such an amazing vibe though, so really, REALLY good job to these actors/actresses for making me believe it! If I had to watch this drama once again, there’s only one answer for me; I WOULD!! Trust me and watch “Reset”, because you’re just going to want to watch this masterpiece again and again.Was this review helpful to you?
Love As Broad As the Galaxies
“Love Like the Galaxy” aired this summer with high expectations from viewers, as the casting for this new drama is much anticipated, with Zhao Lu Si and Wu Lei starring as the main leads.This drama is about conflict between family, the royal court, and three exceptional young men whose hearts will belong to our main character, Cheng Shao Shang. She was raised without parents, as they have gone on a war expedition the moment she was born, but that was what made her personality so attractive and different from all the other noble ladies. Not only is she extremely smart in her own way, she is brave and reckless and does not back down on her own rights. As she rises in the court, who will she choose? The cold but caring star general, Ling Bu Yi, who’s treated like the Emperor’s own son, the brilliant and handsome scholar Yuan Shen, or the gentle and rich nephew of the Crown Prince’s tutor, Lou Yao? Can she also keep up with all the drama from the royal court?
~~~
I began the drama with excitement as my favourite actors are leading in it. Wu Lei made a huge impression on me when I watched “The Long Ballad”, and Zhao Lu Si has always been my go-to actress. The way they portrayed their roles so well, and made me believe their affection towards one another in the drama was done very well, as I have been hooked to this drama for days. I must also add that the support roles were also very well chosen, as I was completely immersed in the drama.
The fantastic plot was what made me want to binge all the episodes in one day. Once I began the drama, I could barely stop. I loved how “Love Like the Galaxy” had three male leads attracted to the female lead, unlike most dramas. It really added a new level of interest to the storyline. Additionally, “Love Like the Galaxy” just had a lot of drama going on, and rather than it being too extra, I instead enjoyed it all.
I would 1000% recommend “Love Like the Galaxy” to anyone who’s searching for a historical drama with a wonderful cast, a beautiful storyline, and dark circles for days. You won’t regret it, and this drama is definitely worth your time!
Best Historical K-Drama EVER
There are about a hundred positive words to describe this masterpiece of a drama, but the most suitable one I think would be “amazing”. This drama really didn’t let me down, and it’s 200% worth all the high reviews it has. “Mr Queen” had me laughing the entire time. I never got tired of it, and I promise you won’t as well!There are many factors to this, but the first thing I noticed was the stunning visuals of the actors/actresses. Whoa. The FL and ML portrayed their characters flawlessly, and so did the supporting roles! I really enjoyed Court Lady Choi and Hong Yeon’s characters! They were like the best besties anyone could ever ask for, haha. Additionally, the effortless chemistry between the leads deserves a pat on the back, because it was all too romantic and sweet. I especially liked Kim Soyong’s actress, because the way she fitted into the different personalities and roles was all too perfect. What really got me was her facial expressions!
Moving on, I’d just have to mention the OST (music). From the moment Bong Hwan woke up in the queen’s body and starting running around, being chased by the palace maids and eunuchs, to the very last second of the drama, I could not sit down still while any of the theme songs were played. “Bong Hwan A”, “…Keep Going”, and all the other songs had me dancing along, meanwhile “Here I Am” had me shedding some tears and presenting some of my terrible vocals. Such wonderful songs for a wonderful drama!
Furthermore, I genuinely enjoyed the storyline as a whole. It was humorous most of the time, it was serious at others, and it was helplessly romantic too. A combination of all of these and you get a chef’s kiss drama. Mr Queen not only related to modern society, but also had lots of historical politics in there as well. Although most of it wasn’t historically correct, I really liked the conflict between the Kim and Jo family, both in-court and in the inner palace. The only thing I would say about the plot is that I wish the ending could’ve been a little different. I think this, because Cheoljong first fell in love with Bong Hwan’s reckless and unrestrained attitude and behaviour, but when he returned to the modern world, the king didn’t really notice or do anything about it. I don’t know about you, but I lived for that version of Kim Soyong, and I felt a little disappointed with the finale when that side of her disappeared. In addition, I would’ve also liked to see their baby in the end, but unfortunately we did not get to add that cuteness to this drama. However, it wasn’t a big deal and I still really enjoyed it overall.
If you’re searching for a fantastic historical drama, I highly recommend “Mr Queen”. I guarantee that it will be the best one yet. So please do yourself a big favour and add this title to your watchlist! :)
A Super Fun Drama You’d Not Want To Miss!
I rarely watch k-dramas, but I finally made the decision to binge “A Business Proposal”, after it constantly appeared everywhere, and being recommended to me by the MDL community. I’m so glad I made that choice, because this drama proved to be one of the best modern dramas I’ve watched in a while!I think what pulled me in to the drama so much, was the whole plot itself. I love dramas that include changing appearances (like “True Beauty”), and so I was basically hooked from the very beginning. However, I must add that I did loose a bit of interest near the middle/end, because the climax of the drama had ended. This was what made “A Business Proposal” go from a 9.0 to a 8.5 for me.
Next, I want to say that the whole cast was extremely well picked. Kim Sejeong’s smile and expressions perfectly fit her role as Shin Ha-Ri, and she has that playful side of her that showcased during her act as Shin Geum-Hui. Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo-Seop overwhelmed me with his stellar appearance and acting skills. He really made Kang Tae-Moo’s arrogance and bossiness come to life. The bonus was that the two main leads had an awesome chemistry that peaked my attention towards them even more.
Moving on to the second leads… they were just sooooo perfect! I have to be honest, I sometimes even loved them more than the main couple! Seol In-Ah’s acting was so on-point, and I can visibly see her development as an actress from “Mr. Queen”. Her chemistry with Kim Min-Kyu was all too good, I totally ship them in real life!
YOU CAN’T MISS THIS!!!
“Love Is Sweet” started off as a really “sweet” modern drama, but later got into darker and more mature topics such as law and bullying. This drama was very different from the modern dramas I usually watch, because I don’t usually like them in a business setting. “Love Is Sweet”, however, proved me wrong. You can enjoy a good drama no matter what it’s about.The storyline was entertaining for me. Not only was there baffling plot twists, but there was also lots of humor. I also liked how the drama showed how strong women can be and how we can also being in business industries such as investment. After watching this drama, I only hope that there will be women as strong and as smart like Jiang Jun, in reality. Since she’s allergic to tears, the chance of her success in the industry was low, but that didn’t dampen her confidence and actually boosted her effort to keep going.
A good drama calls for a even better cast, and “Love Is Sweet” no doubt had one of the best casts I’d ever came across. Bai Lu was definitely the first person that came to my mind when I thought of Jiang Jun, and she suited the character perfectly. Such a talented actress like Bai Lu never disappoints me. This was the first time I’d seen Luo YunXi in a drama- and let me just say- for a somewhat newly debuted actor, his skills are basically in line with someone who’s been in the film industry for years. The way he suits every character he plays is extremely professional, and he does it so well! In fact, after watching “Love Is Sweet”, I ran over to “Ashes of Love”, and YunXi displayed the same amount of work ethic and talent that called for the very success of this drama. Apart from the main lead, however, the second leads were also amazing. The chemistry was totally insane in this drama, so kudos to the actors/actresses!
I really enjoyed this drama in general; good story, great cast, perfect OST, and a wonderful crew for making this all possible. I really recommend “Love Is Sweet” if you’re looking for one heck of a lovely modern drama!
Couldn’t Have Been Better!
I actually started this drama a few years back, dropped it and came back this year because the reviews were really high and people said it was like Love and Redemption (my absolute favourite drama). To no surprise, it caught my attention from day one, and I started binge watching it ever since. There are a lot of things that contributed to such a brilliant drama, but a few includes the storyline, acting, OST, and production.First of all, the plot was so well planned out- it wasn’t like the script writers had casually wrote down the story, not knowing where it would go, at all. This is a really important factor to being a good drama, especially one based in the historical and fantasy genre, for me. Ashes of Love really exemplified that, which was awesome.
Next, I just wanna say that the cast and acting for this drama was… SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS (any one of you who know Mary Poppins know what I’m talking about)! Yang Zi was the PURRFECT actress to take Jing Mi’s role, as she possesses this gentle beauty and her presence gives off a fairy-like aura. Apart from that, Yang Zi flawlessly portrayed Jing Mi’s development throughout the drama- growing from a naïve, innocent “grape fairy”, to a mature, understanding, and smart woman. Deng Lun, on the other hand, caressed a pair of expressive eyes that made me not only simp for him, but acknowledge his emotion at the moment without even needing to open his mouth and speaking. He also really sold the character of Xu Feng, and I don’t think any other actor would be able to replace him in this drama. The chemistry between the two main leads was also so REAL, I really wish that they would become a couple in real life (at least film another drama together, come on)! Additionally, the supporting characters were incredible as well. Luo YunXi portrayed Run Yu’s gentleness, jealously, grievance and revenge SUPERB! He’s so professional! The actresses for Liu Yang and Sui He were exquisite too, they really deserve a standing ovation from me!
Moving on, I just wanna mention how much I loved the OST (music), because this drama had me singing the opening and closing song for DAYS! Last but not least, I would like to praise the entire team that made Ashes of Love possible. You guys are AWESOME! Thanks so much for giving us this high quality, emotional roller coaster of a drama!
The best part of this drama for me, was watching all the characters grow and getting what they all deserved at the satisfying finale.
Okay Royal Court Drama! (Surprisingly)
“The King’s Woman” was actually one of my very first c-dramas. I watched this drama without the same criticism that I have today. However, I remember this drama as one with a good cast, including Dilraba (one of my favourite actresses) and Vin Zhang, who I thought played the role of the emperor quite well. The story… could be better, but I think this is still a decent historical drama based on the royal court/family. If I were to watch this drama again, I don’t think it would be all that interesting, because I never really rewatch dramas, to be honest. Overall, I give this piece a 6.5.Was this review helpful to you?
BEST DRAMA EVER?!
Look… there are almost no dramas that pressure me into having dark eye bags for a month, but this one was THE exception. This drama had the best and most interesting storyline I had ever come across, with mysteries, royalty, history, and of course- beautiful romance. Additionally, the camera work and technical affects just increased my rating of this drama. However, most of all, the cast was just PER-FEC-TION. Perfection, I repeat. Dilraba is one of my favourite actresses of all time, not only her unparalleled beauty suiting Li Changge flawlessly, but also her amazing personality and talent. No other actress could replace her spot in this drama. Leo also gave me those rare goosebumps. There are no other words to put it- he was BORN for this. As a young actor with not many achievements yet, he shocked me completely by the way he portrayed his character. Last but certainly not least, Zhao Lusi was fitted the role of the princess so well, that I just had to watch her Romance of Tiger and Rose right after. Her chemistry with her co-actors are always awesome and she never disappoints me. The chemistry between the cast was all too good to be real- although it was, and that’s why I gave the drama a full rating. I should say no more, because you should get on to watching this drama now! Believe me, you won’t regret it! ;)Was this review helpful to you?
The Legendary Odyssey Between Merman and Human
Whether it was the visuals/actors, storyline, or OST, everything about “The Blue Whisper” was effortlessly flawless. I originally came for Dilraba and Allen Ren, but I quickly fell for the rest of the cast and its amazing production overall. I would not regret watching this beautiful masterpiece.~~~
“The Blue Whisper” is about the love between a spiritual master and a merman- a love that should’ve not occurred in the first place. Ji Yun He has spent her entire life confined and restrained from freedom, being trapped to the Flower Valley by “invisible chains”. She has spent her years yearning for the day where she can finally leave. Chang Yi, on the other hand, is the crown prince of the East Sea. He is caught by the evil Fairy Shunde, and is sent to Flower Valley in order to be trained to become her attendant. Shunde orders that the merman must speak, break his tail, and present his merman pearl.
Surprisingly, Yun He treats Chang Yi unlike the others spiritual masters, and instead she is a much needed friend. Both are caged from freedom, and rely on one another for the hope that one day they will escape together. As both of them develop unexpected feelings for each other, more secrets about the world unravels.
~~~
What striked me first was the OST. My absolute favourite song in the whole drama is the opening song, and I have to listen to it every time I start a new episode. It was just so heavenly, and I always enjoy it so much. The other songs didn’t let down my expectations either, and I even found myself humming to them, every now and then.
The cast… it was almost perfect in every way. Dilraba did not let me down, as usual, and she surprised me very much throughout the drama, as I felt her development as an actress. Allen Ren, was just drop-dead-gorgeous, and his acting skills definitely lived up to his looks too. I also felt a ton of chemistry between the two main leads. Additionally, the rest of the cast was also very talented and good-looking, so that was a huge bonus.
As the drama progressed, I fell deeper into its story and could not stop binging it whatsoever. It was very well written, so kudos to the author, and I felt completely engrossed in its special effects and production as well.
I would recommend “The Blue Whisper” for anyone who’s looking for an exciting, addicting and astonishing fantasy drama. I’m so excited to start Part Two! ^^

Tale of Bai Feng Xi and Hei Feng Xi
Everyone was hyped for this drama, and when it officially came out it (unsurprisingly) got pretty high reviews. So obviously I just HAD to watch it. When I started Who Rules the World, my expectations were quite high, as I knew that actors and actresses like Yang Yang and Zhao Lu Si would not disappoint. I was not wrong. I loved almost everything about the drama- the storyline was brilliantly thought out and the characters/actors/actresses were amazing.Bai Feng Xi is playful and careless while Hei Feng Xi is intelligent and majestic. Those two were definitely a match made in heaven, and they were definitely born to rule. I really enjoyed Zhao Lu Si and Yang Yang’s light romance and flawless chemistry, however, it was the realistic yet emotional romance that made me tear up after I finished the drama, haha. As the Who Rules the World got more into politics, I thought it would be boring, but I was proved wrong, because I was actually interested by the situations going on in the royal court and different countries.
Additionally, I found that Who Rules the World had a lot of beautiful details- the authentic and elegant outdoor/indoor sceneries and alluring costumes added a magic touch to the drama as a whole. Overall, I would rate this drama a 9.0 because even after a few days, I’ve been thinking about this high-quality drama nonstop and researching whether or not a second season will be made. Very few dramas put a spell like that on me, and so maybe even years from now on, I’ll still be humming the WTW soundtrack. I would very much recommend Who Rules the World for anyone who’s searching for one heck of a historical costume c-drama!

It’s CLICHE But…
Honestly, I get that many people think this is very typical and cliche drama, with its contract marriage and main-lead-has-big-dreams storyline. However, I actually quite enjoyed this drama, because it’s nice and short. It’s sweet- there are a LOT of romance and kisses, which made me go “aww”. It’s funny- many of the scenes in this drama had me laughing uncontrollably, too! Although I think it could have gotten a higher rating from me if the plot was changed a bit, I still think it was definitely worth my time, especially because I respect fashion lovers (as Gu XiXi is a fashion designer), and it packed so much sweetness in only 24 episodes. I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a pleasant, modern-life drama.Was this review helpful to you?

Bored Near the End…
At first I thought this was a pretty nice drama; the storyline being the OG “contract marriage”, and the funny/clumsy character of Shen Jin. However, as I got near the end, the plot began to feel boring to me as the “climax” of the drama had mostly passed. Shen Jin opened her fabric shop, and Chu Xiuming defeated his enemies in court. After that, I felt that the rest of the drama wasn’t really worth watching anymore, and I had to force myself to finish “General’s Lady”. However, I think that with some changes in the plot and script, the end of the drama could’ve been more interesting. I still recommend this drama if you’re looking for a humorous yet utterly romantic historical drama.Was this review helpful to you?
A Lot of People Say This Is A Bad Drama But…
There are a lot of people out there criticizing the characters and plot of this drama, but I honestly don’t get why. If you have watched this drama, you most definitely know it’s name: “Cute Programmer”. This drama is exactly what it says in the title- it’s a lighthearted and fluffy drama, perfect for when you need that balance after you’ve just finished an emotional or heavy drama. Although the storyline can be a bit outrageous or confusing sometimes, with the many misunderstandings and conflict that happened throughout it, “Cute Programmer” still has a good foundation. I believe that with adjustments in the script and plot, this drama will definitely improve.Was this review helpful to you?
YOU WON’T REGRET IT!
I loved this drama so much! It was creative, hilarious yet romantic, and it was just perfect in every way possible! The actors/actresses were well picked, and the chemistry between the main leads was just chef’s kiss. Because I had just finished watching The Long Ballad and thought that Zhao Luis was a very great actress, I decided to give this drama a try. She never disappoints me, and her coordination with her co-actors deserves a standing ovation! I wasn’t wrong to tune in on this journey because throughout this drama, I laughed and cried along with the characters- and there are very few dramas that pull me in like so. I don’t ever regret watching this drama, and I promise that it will be the same for you too. Watch The Romance of Tiger and Rose now!Was this review helpful to you?
