Good show but not enough suspense

This was a good show but on the episode when he found out she was going abroad I felt he should have broken up with her instead of being the stand-by guy waiting for her to return. If they would have broken up it would have made the last three episodes very interesting to see how she wins his heart again. Why can't they ever make these characters get angry, mad, and hurt when they find out from someone else their girlfriend is going abroad? Are all Asian men really that easy-going and pushovers?

Cute and realistic romantic comedy

Storyline:
It was refreshing to watch a drama that just followed the natural progression of a relationship without inserting unnecessary villains trying to break them apart and having the main couple dealing with unspoken misunderstandings. It's a cute and realistic romantic comedy about a normal couple that are wholeheartedly in love and devoted to each other but navigate through the challenges of maintaining a relationship due to the nature of their demanding careers as a SWAT officer and a ER doctor/Neuro surgeon.

Characters/Acting:
- Main couple were cute and had good chemistry. What I liked most about their relationship is their open honesty with each other rather than letting misunderstandings or conniving people (those annoying sisters) get in between them like you see in most cdrama relationships.
- ML (Xing Ke Lei) I had an hard time seeing him as Mr. Tough Guy because he has such a young baby face. And I still see that actor in his quiet, naïve role in Rise of the Phoenixes. But his acting was good. It was so endearing how much he loved Mi Ka and always looked out for her.
- FL (Mi Ka) This is the 2nd series I saw her in (she was in Mr. Fighting w/ Allen Deng). She's a good actress. She always manages to come across as wholesome, sweet and genuine with a little spunk. She's very likable.
- Support couple (Wenbo and Xiao Xia) - cute progression of their relationship, particularly Wenbo who was utterly clueless when it comes to women and love but so honest.
- Xing Ke Yao - ML's older sister. She was one of my favorite characters. In the beginning you expect her to be a cold and controlling sister/character. But underneath that hard exterior she's such a loving, honest and nurturing person. I love the witty banter and relationship she has with her brother Xing Ke Lei.

Music:
- Decent. The upbeat song went well with the happy scenes.

Rewatch Value:
- Overall I enjoyed the show but not enough to re-watch it.

Realistically Good! A MUST

This is one of those dramas where, in the beginning, you are not sure if it's gonna be good or not, but then you stayed all throughout and had the feeling of satisfaction. This is 100% a really good drama. The poster didn't really catch my attention and I'm not familiar with any of the characters, so I just thought it's not gonna be good. But the comments and reviews have been saying it otherwise, so I gave this a go. I liked it. I stayed for 40 episodes and did not skip a beat.

Sandra Ma and Bai Jing Ting were absolutely beautiful and gave life to the characters. Especially Sandra Ma, she didn't even have much make-up but she is still beautiful. Although I'm not a fan of her wardrobe choices, her character was portrayed as simple and down-to-earth.

It's a slow burn but they give you a very healthy relationship. But even if it's a slow burn, it doesn't really fall into your most common drama tropes.

OST was also good. I really like Accident (意外) by Leaf (叶炫清) and Chen Xueran (陈雪燃).

I'm sorry to say I can't bear to watch an inch further than ep 10
Even for the sake of the second couple
And I jumped to the end and I missed almost nothing

Illogical Main leads
Annoying FL , Stupid , cold and weak
Something in her character was frustrating

And the ML inspite of being in a high position in special forces I saw his attitude turned to be childish

Till episode 04 it was amazing then down the hill so fast
Starting from episode 08
I press Fast forward button while watching
and I saw it already cold and lukewarm

Too much detailed medical surgeries
And medical descriptions as if they were filming a documentary movie about hospitals and patients

And too much special forces operations
They could easily reduce it to 24 eps without all these Boring details which made it like the scientific or medical channel

PS: Very Bad copy of Descendants of the sun

Sweet, warm and perfect drama

This drama is so comforting, the female lead is smart, the male lead is sweet, strong , understanding and actively shows interest for MI Ka it's just amazing. Even though Mika is shy and not very into dating world she is smart, she doesn't let herself be bullied and is very flirty and teases the Xing many times. At this point it doesn't feel like you're watching a drama but you're watching an actual couple being together they have such an insane chemistry that it doesn't even feel like they are acting but it's an actual relationship. This drama is perfect, if you just want a warm blankets, some comfort food and watch this as a comfort drama 100000/10 would recommend it's just so good. Thankfully there are no unnecessary break ups nor fights that last 2 episodes but actually like a 5 min time lapse.

DOTS VS YRMH

For all the users who have watched DOTS and want to know abt YAMH.
This is my honest review.
If you don't want to read the whole thing read the last line.

Differences
DOTS is abt a military man doing very highly dangerous worldwide missions. While YAMH is abt a high level police officer doing a few local dangerous jobs and mainly conducts training.

In DOTS the main lead is a funny guy who is serious abt his work and protecting people and never ever goes against his ethics of always protecting citizens first. In YAMH the guy is a cold guy who gets swayed by the girl and situations and I felt that he wasn't serious about never harming citizens.

Also in DOTS he asks the doctor to save a criminal just because he is a patient and a doctors job is to save while in YAMH there is scene where he asks why the doctors is saving the criminal.

Ik all these were negatives but there is one thing I liked is that the way they meet in YAMH is interesting.

There are many more differences but these were my major decision making factors sooo.

Anyway I have seen DOTS and after watching YAMH's 7 episodes I am bored with it so I really don't recommend it.

sweet but with the overboard asian flirting trope

The story is really cool and the characters are cool, it's starts really well and funny with the teasing and all. But honestly I don't like the trope that one lead falls really fast but the other doesn't like them and get annoyed by their presence. Then the one in loves goes overboard to get close to them, in this case is the housing situation (generally speaking so I don't spoil it for anyone).

I just think it's too much you know, I know that it doesn't last too long but the the way the FL treats the ML kinda. Also I couldn't move on from the situation I referred earlier, I know it's stupid but it really bothered.

Watch For Great Lead Actor- nothing else!

Although the FL actress mumbled her way through the part and didn’t seem to find the ML attractive, I managed to enjoy most of the drama just based on how handsome and talented the ML actor was. But i got triggered by the last three episodes.

I would give the first 37 episodes 8/10 but the last three a zero. *spoiler* I simply cannot stand any more “romances” where one of the couple abandoned the other for months/ years for “career”. Hear me writers and producers: THIS IS NOT ROMANTIC. Career is an illusion. Somebody can die in an instant, especially here where ML is a SWAT officer. You might not have two years to come back and resume. I just cannot abide this anymore. It absolutely ruins a drama for me.

TBH, I am usually picky when watching Chinese drama because some of the scenes are quite cringey.

Anyways, one thing I REALLY don't like about this drama is their medical scene. I think the writer and the director did not do their research properly. I know this is not mainly a medical drama but the scenes were directed poorly. The elevator scene, two doctors were trapped with a rib fracture patient, no IV line, no indication that the patient has a rib fracture, even though he was already diagnosed with a rib fracture.

Another scene like, Dr. Shao was doing a major brain surgery but there were no blood seen on his gloves, even Mi Ka's gloves were so clean, the surgical area was so clean. they only show a video of how is it done but, hello, major surgery, right? Post surgery, the patient was recovering but there were no IV fluids or oxygen attached to the patient's body knowing that the patient just have a major brain surgery. Seriously?! Even non-medical dramas, they make it look like it's reality with the IVs, oxygen, blood, etc, like a real operation but not on this drama. One of a reason why I skipped a lot of medical scenes in this series. :(

I like some of the fight scenes though at least the action scenes were quite believable. i just wish the background music adds more feelings towards the scene. It's an action scene so more intense BGM.

One thing I like about this series is the romance part. The male and female lead, the supporting female and male lead had a spark and connection which makes it more okay and fun to watch. :)

Overall, if you're looking for a romance drama, this series is okay but don't expect much with regards to their medical scenes.

Unexpectedly Good ... SOOooOoO Good

It was a 10 until ep 31.

I love the ML and FL in different dramas but their pairing initially was questionable to me as the age gap looked a bit much. He looks 10 years younger and She looks her real age but surprisingly their chemistry was very good. In addition the supporting couple is so cute as well. Strong start to the drama with lots of laughs and sweet moments already. So far no nasty characters and there's a lot of human factor to the story. By that I mean no characters you just want to skip kind.

The story started off with an intense life turning moment for the lead characters followed by 2 years of break. They meet again in the oddest way only happen in drama land with some unavoidable misunderstandings. I love that she's strong, not needing to be rescued weak girl. She gets injured and can handle the pain, not the "O I cut my finger boy need to carry me kind". She has her weakness but she doesn't give up. Soon he sees the fighting spirit and grew fond of her. Their conversations are entertaining so kudos to the script writers!

More over there are a lot of subtle humor. My favorite ones:
1. Ep 1: "What , rice? that's a last name? " FL while holding a bomb "What can I do if my dad's last name is rice?"
2. Staring contest between the leads, the background is blurred out but if you pay attention to the background you'll crack up laughing.
3. FL and the director looking at an animal brain RAW!!! then she orders cooked intestine "here you go this, its something you regularly operate on."

so many more!!!

Sadly ep 31 came and annoying characters introduction ruined the drama wasted about 5 ep. Characters/ story line was totally not needed.

Great but....

I really was looking forward to seeing this series! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, but I couldn't get passed the second episode for one reason. That reason was the poor English subtitles. They were really confusing and didn't make sense a lot of the time. I hope that they can get fixed because I really would like to finish this series!
Other than the subtitles, the actors were great! I think that there is some dubbing of the dialog because the actors voices sound different from other shows that they have done.
