The Power of Transformation: Celebrating 45 Years of Super Sentai This unofficial 36.1st installment in the long running Super Sentai franchise tells the story of three people (Akagi Nobuo, a die hard Sentai and Tokusatsu fan, Aoyagi Mitsuki, a martial arts expert with more hidden interest and Moegi Yumeria, a local cosplay girl.) living in the Japanese city of Akibahara, a cultural mecca for otaku. One day the three are recruited by Hakase Hiroyo to become the Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger, a sentai team who's battles are entirely imaginary. Dreaming of one day becoming official, the three vow to defeat their enemy, Blatantly Evil Marketing Firm B, even if they have to bring their fight to the real world and call in some help from a few Sentai legends. I love how they are aware of the conventions of Sentai and have totally blown them out of proportion or completely abused them or made fun of them.
LOVE the Open/End Songs!
Very funny TV show.
Great fun acting - especially on Wada's part - so proud of him!
Great characters.
The downside? It was SO short!! *cries* and the ending isn't what I expected, I thought they'd become official but they completely did a 360 on the ending.
Nevertheless I was sad to see it end and there's implications of a second season - SO HOPE IT'S TRUE!!!
