Both are historical dramas with a poorer FL marrying a well to do ML. Both MLs live with an extended family of parents and siblings, and the FL quickly endears herself to her in-laws. Both FLs are intelligent in a certain field (problem solving vs. medicine). The subplots in both are about the ML's brothers and their romances or stories.
Both are historical dramas with a lush, beautiful look and feel, both based upon operas. The MLs are of higher status than the FLs who are orphans and entertainers (musician vs. theatre performer). Both FLs are intelligent and quick to solve problems that come their way. Both dramas are female driven and have court politics , friendship, and extended family at their center.
