The story follows Sheng Ming Lan, an unfavored concubine-born 6th daughter of an official. Song of youth also follows the main character who loses her parents and has to survive and prove her parents' innocence.

same quirkiness and same ridiculous power dynamics in a family. in both drama you have the main couple who got married out of love despite the family's disagreement due to the status differences. there are also many similarities between the rest of the characters.

Both dramas take place during Ming Dynasty. Displaying all Confucian values and teachings. Orthodox and conservative. Aristocrat families with a lot of family politics. Difficult mother-in-law.

Both are historical dramas with a poorer FL marrying a well to do ML. Both MLs live with an extended family of parents and siblings, and the FL quickly endears herself to her in-laws. Both FLs are intelligent in a certain field (problem solving vs. medicine). The subplots in both are about the ML's brothers and their romances or stories.

Similar in tone and setting but very different plots. Very devoted ML who won't give up on FL.

Despite the difference in plots, both dramas are slower paced, slow burn romances, and focus on families with a very large cast of characters. Both FLs are determined and strong-minded, both MLs fall in love at the start and slowly win the FL's heart. The tone and pacing feels similar, too.

-period drama
-FL is also an entertainer who faces prejudice
-strong willed FL who rises from nothing to become patriarch of the family business
-ML falls for the FL but she is not interested. This is a super slow romance

Similar pacing and vibes with a noble family/families as the main characters, and multiple couples in both, each with their own storylines. FL frequently solves the problems of the family she married into.

- smart FL;
- complex family relationships;
- FL is solving crisis after crisis for the whole family;
- Chang Long is in both of them;
- cute dynamics between the mains

In both dramas FL’s are intelligent, cunning, and the backbone for their families. There is more humor in the family dynamic, but the family goes through many schemes that FL helps overcome.
