The young man who lives in the village, Soji, lives on a small island on the other side of the sea. Soji decided that the fire would go from the island to the village in the shade of a pine tree. However, a woman in the village dressed as a night of great storm burns fire. Ryo sees it and tries to swim across the sea, but drowns. Soji knows it, kills the village woman, and commits suicide.
