Azuma Wataru is told he has two options: take supplementary lessons or join a club. Not wanting to take the extra lessons he seeks out a club. When he sees Satonaka Mari, the transfer student, excited by the Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics Club he finds himself also impressed by their tumbling and decides to join as well. Wataru doesn't understand how someone could make something like tumbling a dream, but he starts to come around and decides to give it a real chance.

Dynamite!

Seeing how everything is laid in place at the very first episode just pulls me in. Tumbling starts out with a very simple and often-used premise, that turns out to be more complicated than it seems: a yanki boy likes the girl transfer student and wants to impress her. Voila! It hits two birds with one stone: get more credits by joining a club that the girl you like likes.

But Wataru quickly learns that it's not all roses--and something tells me this is going to be the start of a long and hard ascent to winning the sport.

Yamamoto Yusuke's character here is a 180 degrees opposite that of Tamaki in Ouran or Saejima in GTO (and even nowhere near Taiki, the 'Aura Boy' in Hana Kimi) but then when he is mesmerized by Maki, you can still see that bit of resemblance.

Akira as Kashiwagi sensei--the total opposite to Eikichi (GTO remake).
