Mindblown
What on earth did i watch? I mean i ve seen earlier thai bl series they were jus candy floss (sorry maxtul , kristosingto) . This is so mature in every way. The emotions are so raw n real. The person i liked the most in this series is Tarn , what an amazing actor. They way she expresses herself is an absolute delight to watch. I dunno whether the ending is going to break my heart or make me happy but i sure am happy that i got to see this amazing series. Both the leads are amazing though Bilkin has this beautiful ability to put across his emotions in such easy way , even for a non thai like me would be able to follow him with out any subtitles. He does use his dimples straight for the kill....Was this review helpful to you?
Some of the most melt worthy scenes in almost ANY Thai BL to date.
I am not sure where to begin or end on this one. It's absolute fire and my soul is scorched! I love the acting, the friend group, the girl is charming and not at all annoying to me. The true winner here is the chemistry between the two main actors. Those two seriously drive this entire show with glances, subtle touches and just some of the most angsty vibes ever portrayed through a TV screen. The music is beautiful and always perfectly set/timed.Bottom line:
There is no fast forwarding to the "good parts".
Nothing is cringy or awkward.
The pacing is perfect and realistic.
Final piece to add!
Their emotions, actions and movements are on point. Some scenes brought me back to a full blown high school relationship/crush, and the pure passion that was felt at that age. I don't know if there is a happy ending, but this is absolute gold.

ITSAY: A cinematic masterpiece
I never believed I would ever make an account on MDL just to leave a review on a Thai series. I've just recently found myself obsessing over Thai tv shows, and I somehow came across so many people on Instagram buzzing over this ITSAY show. Out of curiosity, I ended up hesitantly watching the first episode half worried that I was wasting my time. A few minutes in, I was absolutely mind blown. The color scheme , the soundtrack, the cinematography, and Billkin's acting in the opening scene?? Literally everything seemed to suggest that this was going to be THE show of the year. I can't believe I was worried about whether the acting was going to disappoint, because Billkin and PP SERVED! They are probably the most talented actors I have ever seen star in a Thai BL series. I actually don't wanna label this as merely a Thai BL Series. This goes BEYOND just being a BL series (not that there is anything wrong with a BL series). It is the coming of age story of two young boys, and we are taken on a journey where they discover love, their feelings, and basically discover themselves with each other. The utter raw depiction of their confusion and them unraveling their feelings is so beautiful and heartwarming. I honestly do not think any review is going to do this series justice. The acting, the music, the cinematography, the symbolism, the plot, everything is just... *chef's kiss*I really hope Teh and OhAew get the happy ending they deserve. But regardless of how this is bound to end, ITSAY will forever remain in my heart as a cinematic masterpiece. THE tv series of the year. Or maybe the century.
I'm looking forward to seeing Billkin and PP in new works. They deserve all the success.

wow...
just finished this and wow. really hope bas and tan get to find love in season 2 because they absolutely deserve the world. anyways this is definitely the best BL i’ve ever watched. i’m a new BL fan and i still have a lot more to watch, but coming from the corny (no offense,) yet still enjoyable GMMTV BLs i have to say this is most definitely a step up. also props for finally a BL not surrounding being located in Bangkok, even though they’re going their next season. would definitely recommend watching again or if you haven’t watched yet, WATCH IT!Was this review helpful to you?
If we have set apart by time, I'm pleased to wait
When I watched this series I had no idea what it was about.I was pulled simply by the title itself and glad to say it did not disappoint.
The series was masterful. In 5 episodes, I felt the same feeling and satisfaction I had when watching a full 13 or so episodes of other series. Needless to say, I loved it. So much. I have watched many coming of age series, many with LGBTQ+ themes, family themes and friendship themes, but nothing was as masterfully portrayed as this.
What sets ITSAY apart is that it mastered the show not tell aspect of story telling. Where continuity mattered, and where every scene had a reason. Each character did not need a special arc to understand their personalities, and yet you understand the depth of their person. Same goes with the main actors who acted very well, and showed how it is to struggle discovering aspects of yourself during youth.
You make mistakes, you act recklessly, you take things for granted but at the end of the day you discover that things go beyond yourself. You have support and you have love. We learn that as naïve, and as scared as the main characters were navigating their lives, they were able to mature. It was beautiful, so human, so real.
I am glad I decided to watch this series. Aside from the plot and characters, you get to see how beautiful Phuket Thailand is, and the cultural practices they have. Which I find important as well, to understand the persons involved, your setting plays a large part in creating the right atmosphere for it. That, and the OST added to the already beautiful art that is this series.
I sometimes wonder if I would ever be able to watch something like this again. Where it left me satisfied and filled with emotions. Maybe it will come soon, maybe it will come in the form of ITSAY part 2. I'm not sure yet, but one thing is definitely certain, ITSAY is worth the watch.

watch it NOW
ONE OF THE BEST SERIES OF 2020, might I say in the history of thai BLs.I'll just get straight to the point: I loved everything. From the story to the acting to the chemistry.
I think I could write pages and pages trying to explain why I loved this but I still wouldn't do this justice.
I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to review this because honestly, I have still not recovered from watching it. I don't think I ever will.
If you loved 'Call me by your name" you will love this.
This isn't a simple BL. it's art. it's like the first rains after a hot summer. it's like hot chocolate on a winter night. the smell of burning incense after a long day at work. you will feel comforted, heartbroken, giddy: like someone experiencing love for the first time. Like an addict, you will find yourself coming back for more and more and when it's over your heart will be heavy. A good kind of heavy though.
"I'm hurt, I'm in love"
I'll wait for part 2.

Superb❤️
This is one of the most heart wrenching and beautiful dramas I have viewed. It takes the bl genre to a new level. Every line , every frame is so powerful. The acting is beyond my wildest expectations. I felt every emotion. It is obvious that the writers wanted to explore the real issues faced by those struggling with their sexual identities. The confusion, the anguish, the denial, the rejection are all handled with such sensitivity. I applaud everyone who had any part in this magnificent production. It reminded me of former students I taught who struggled daily to fit in and be accepted. The cinematography was exemplary. The music outstanding. This was not wishful voyeurism or depicting the world as you would like it to be. This is depicting life as it really is even in a world where progress has been made concerning same sex relations. This is not just any bl. This is for anyone struggling with his/her identity. This is for anyone struggling with his/her feelings for someone else and not knowing what to do with those feelings. I can’t believe this was the first acting role for some of the actors. They were all amazing. I have rewatched this three times and downloaded the theme song. My only wish is that the upcoming sequel shows continued growth and acceptance in their relationship and refrain from the obligatory death at the end or having to choose family over love. I must add the supporting characters were awesome especially Bas and Tarn. I usually don’t like how females are portrayed in BLs but Tarn’s character was perfection. And I can’t say enough about Bas. This is real love, true friendship. Again I hope they don’t change their personalities in season 2. I like to see them evolve and grow as college students but that doesn’t mean they have to become mean or vindictive. Was this review helpful to you?
VERY SPECIAL SERIES
It’s a really speacial series. It has a bound that any other bl’s has. The connection and interaction between our couple is truly something special and meaningful. You can’t watch this series with streotypical expectations, it has more different cultural, artistic vibes than basic thai bl’s. First i knew all the hype about this series and was very curious and don’t get me wrong when i watched the first episode -although it was very well produced and everything- i was not that into it. But after the 2nd episode i was a mess. I never cried that much on a drama. I literally cried 3 hours straight for the last 2 episodes. I was a mess really. When you started to empathize each one of them and feel the emotions they are here to give, it really turns to something else cause they really have a meaning under all of it. You just gotta feel right. And the ost, musics were really good too. I’m really looking forward to season 2, im just so curious!!!! Anyways very recommended, just be patient with yourself while watching it, enjoy! Was this review helpful to you?
THIS IS MASTERPIECE
STORYthe story is natural and realistic. it is very beautifully packaged and full of meaning. even a small scene without dialogue has a big meaning.
ACTING
for billkin and pp acting, they improved a lot from the previous drama (my ambulance) i was really impressed and amazed. both of them have very good chemistry. And don't forget the side characters, their acting are so good too, like bass and tharn.
MUSIC
OMG The songs are very beautiful. I couldn't move on at all. Every time I listen to its music / scores, I feel like i'm in the film again and feel the happy or sad feeling again. The music scores are excellent. you can play it in youtube "nadao music" playlist "i told sunset about you scores"
REWATCH VALUE
Not gonna lie, i've wathed this series 6x times. Whenever i miss it,i watch it again and again.i just cant wait for ITSAY part 2. Everything was beautiful. miss them

a piece of art
So, this series completely swept me off my feet. It really impressed me, because I was used to boy loves not having the best quality or pretty shots at all. This series was very visually stunning, and the use of color to represent Teh, Ohaew, and the girl character (can't recall her name atm) was really cool. It feels like every time I've rewatched I've been able to catch onto more symbolism or things I didn't catch the first time I was around. The characters and the storyline felt very REAL which I appreciated. Watching through Teh's eyes gave a lot of frustration towards him but I couldn't dislike him, because I understand why he was acting like that. The confliction between his growing feelings and realization of his sexuality, versus his fears of coming out and not being considered "normal" in the eyes of those around him was portrayed very well. It also goes to show when we are coming to terms with ourselves and having our own self discovery that we can oftentimes be destructive and hurt those around us. It also showed us hints of the opposite side of the spectrum, someone like Ohaew who wanted to be out AND loved openly. This series is just so beautiful, but is pretty angst heavy. Was this review helpful to you?
PERFECT!!
You don't need this review, just watch it and you will understand. visual, music, acting, everything is perfect. It's hard to find anything bad about this series, if any are found, it still won't interfere with the enjoyment of watching this series. One of the highlights in this series is EPISODE 4 which manages to give us something that is clearly not something we think we will get from a BL series like this.
"I told sunset about you" clearly made an achievement that would be very difficult for other Thai BL series to achieve.
there is only one way to prove whether my words are true. That is by watching "I told sunset about you" right now !!
