Akihabara is a Tokyo district full of mangas, anime, electronics, video games, figurines, etc. It is a place that gathers fanatics of such themes, people who are commonly referred to as otaku. Page, Box, Akira, Taiko, Daruma, and Izumu are six otaku each with his/her own troubles and sought relief through a website called "Yui's Lifeguard." When site owner Yui died of a mysterious death, the six - each is an expert in their own field - gathered to form "Akihabara@DEEP", a "trouble shooter" group that vows to protect Akihabara and solve the problems of its inhabitants. This movie explains in a very intense way how the whole otaku world is seen (and felt) in japan.
It has some major lacks in the storytelling tho. It alternates extremely slow, peaceful events to cruel, terrible and somehow disgusting events which happens so fast that you won't understand anything if you don't watch it at least 3 times.

They had an amazing cast, despite their young age.
We have a rising Miura Haryma, a powerful Yamada Yu, an always wonderful Narimia Hiroki and great Arakawa Yoshiyoshi (who I feel is still very underestimated).

This movie may not suit most of the people taste because of its cruel scenarios but if you want to make a step into understanding the real otaku world, well this is a must-to-see.

I also recommend to not eat anything during this movie. It might sound random but... really, snacking won't help.

This movie explains in a very intense way how the otaku world is in early 2000s Japan. Centered on a group of six unique otaku who form a troubleshooting company to protect their beloved Akihabara district from a malicious tech corporation, DigiCap.

The core team, Six social outcast otaku, has excellent chemistry, each bringing unique abilities and quirks to the group while covering a variety of themes, including piracy, social alienation, bullying and artificial intelligence, while maintaining a humorous tone in neon-soaked aesthetic of old Akihabara.
