Heartwarming, and beautiful
** I didn't read the manhwa so this is fully on my perspective as a viewer of the drama.PLOTS
First, of course the story. This web drama is basically a light mini-series thus the plots of this drama is not that complicated, basically easy to understand, easy to follow the flow. It started with some fresh beginning, everything going on smoothly but somehow there's a little glitch towards the end. I don’t want to spoil it to new viewers but all I could say is that the writer decides to compress everything there, thus making it seems a little rush but thankfully it's going well towards the end. I believe this story is not completed yet because there’s a lot of things that’re not happening yet, but if they do want it left cliff-hanging just like this, I think it’s fine. The main couple already got their happy ending, and we can’t imagine how bad some characters would be later in another season (if it’s based on the manhwa.)
SETTINGS
It's basically a typical high school kind-of story so for sure they focused on them being highshoolers//teenagers. Having to deal with academic, talent, bully, and free-spirit things are one of the things focused on here. Above all that, this series values friendship and love the most, how important to have someone who will be there when you're in need. Someone to understand and help you when you’re needing them. This value is the most beautiful thing happen in this story.
CHARACTERS
The main leads; Gong Ju-young, played by Park Jihoon. His character really is a cute and fresh one, literally a high-spirit teen which is so blinded by love towards the female lead, Wang Ja-rim. Some of his scenes are weird, childish and unpredictable yet making sense to the drama itself, a romance-comedy drama and somehow portray our real life when we were at their ages. Park Jihoon's character is also this lively and fresh, justifying him playing the role of Ju-young, and he really did great in in his character. For the female lead, Wang Ja-rim played by Lee Ruby. At first, I find it a little uncomfortable to see her playing the role because she seems a little awkward. I don't know if that really is her character in manhwa so please forgive me if it is. Ja rim's character is actually fun to look at, because we don't know what would she do when she's with Ju-young. She can be very tough, scary but at the same time, she's also can be cute and kind to others around her.
Move on to the 2nd lead; Lee Kyungwoo, played by Kim Younghoon. To be honest, as his first acting role he played his character really well despite being 180⁰ different in real life. I heard that he attended an acting academy before being an idol so I guess that’s explained well. His character is a big one, he played a role as the best friend, the mature and and the problematic one to the story. The problem of him being the 2nd lead is that his chemistry with Ja-rim is not that strong since they didn't have many scenes being just two, plus the writer kind of hurry things up. Above all that, honestly, he played Kyungwoo’s character flawlessly so I’d really hope there’ll be more acting opportunities for him in the future.
As for Minji, Jung Daeun played her character really well, being the sad girl in the story, holding everything in her heart; really does portray a teen who has a crush on someone, but couldn’t express herself. Apart from all that, we have characters that making we smile through the story which is Ah-ram (WJSN Dayoung), Byunghoon (Ko Chanbin), Kyungmin (Ahn Dokyu) and Seunghee (Hong Jinhee). They has made us full of laughter throughout the whole series and I’m so thankful for that.
That’s all my review for this cute web drama. Whoever thought about watching this, go on. You’ll never regret it. ^^

Not A “ Revolutionary” Show, But Certainly Sickly and Sugary Sweet..
Storyline; Love Revolution ( based upon the eponymous webtoon) was surprisingly humorous at times for a “ sugary sweet and all things neat” idol drama. On the other hand, it’s important to note that a lot of the main story setting rides upon the old high school tropes of our “ puppy dog” Male lead Gong Ju Young (Park Ji Hoon) tried to chase after our “ indifferent and Ice Queen” female lead Wang Ja Rim (Lee Ruby) throughout cliche setups. Although there isn’t anything necessarily wrong with this, the story was consequently, unoriginal , the pacing was often disjointed and consequently made it easily forgettable and indistinguishable from other predecessor idol dramas. Is it the same as the webtoon?- The characters and basic premise are taken from the webtoon, however, there are some evidently “ safer” differences in the drama than the source material . Unfortunately , Love Revolution isn’t widely available yet in many languages outside of Korean, however, netizens and fans of the original webtoon have seemed to point out a lot that some of the original material focuses on “grittier” realities and storylines for our characters. Whilst the drama should be respected as a standalone production in its own right, it does raise some questions how different Love Revolution would have been if it focused on some more “ realistic” elements of these storylines, and if it would have made a difference to characterisation as well.
Characters; Love Revolution bases its characters upon main key tropes of high schoolers with Ju Yong as the “ lovelorn” Male lead, Ja Rim as the “ indifferent” love interest, Kyung Woo as the “ laidback” one (Young Hoon) and their associated friends ( respectfully played by Jung Da Eun, Im Da Young, Ko Chan Bin and Ahn Do Kyu ) mostly used for comical relief. As romantic dramas go , Love Revolution isn’t entirely terrible for character progression with more complicated reasons explained behind Ja Rim’s personality than at first glance as well as Kyung Woo. On the other hand, a lot of the characters progressively become used as plot devices as the series progresses rather than actual individuals with emotions.
Relationships; Although it’s important to note cultural differences and attitudes towards “ youth” relationships in Korea being a little more modest than some more countries, let’s also not kid ourselves that a lot of the show avoided evident and more “ realistic” elements of teens ( including showing this one episode is an “ embarrassing” misunderstanding after a sex education lesson) ; in order to avoid controversy ( especially with the careers of the idol actors of the show such as Park Ji Hoon and THE BOYZ’s member Young Hoon).
The evident main couple of the show is centred upon Ja Rim and Ju Yong w. Whilst a lot of their relationship is centred upon their differences, a more apparent and eye raising factor which can appear for viewers is the lack of communication and respect between the two teens. Ju Yong often seems to force Ja Rim into uncomfortable situations, whilst Ja Rim’s attitude and behaviour towards Ju Young did seem to send out some very mixed signals. Although Ja Rim should be blamed no more than Ju Young, their lack of communication and equal respect ( on both ends) did not advocate (even when they began to slowly get to know one another better), a healthy and respectful relationship. Of course the show shouldn’t be disregarded as it did try to show us the difficulties of a first real relationship on both sides , the lack of understand and development at times between the two as a couple was a little concerning.
Acting; There has always been a bit of a natural fallacy amongst drama watchers than idols can’t actually act , however, many idols such as IU and Im Siwan, have obviously proven these labels as being misguided . As Love Revolution is concerned, it’s fair to say that our idol actors aren’t terrible within their performances, however, it is fair to say that both Ji Hoon and Young Hoon’s acting is undeniably “ corny” at times and certainly not the best idol acting out there either,
Overall thoughts- Skip or Watch?- Love Revolution is another classic example of a clever marketing strategy by the respected companies and representatives of the idol actors and the makers of the webtoon to draw in a predominantly young fan base through sweet and sugary romance setups filled with tropes and cliches . It must be stressed that this isn’t a dire drama to watch and certainly something to consider to binge or if you’re a fan of these setups, however, for those who actually want depth to the story and characters, then there are so many older and better idol dramas out there to consider.

Enjoyable and Lighthearted web drama!
*This is a review by someone who has been reading the Love Revolution webtoon for quite a while =)STORY
This web drama was very enjoyable to watch: it's cute, hilarious, and so much fun! It's pretty similar to the webtoon, IMO. The webtoon's storyline gets kinda dark and heavy in the later chapters but I much prefer the lighter mood of this drama's storyline. This show is simple and easy to watch as there isn't really an overly dramatic story arc. Most of the dilemmas presented in each episode get solved quickly since each episode is only 20 min long. As for the romance, I actually really loved the main couple. They're a unique duo and I absolutely loved their cute moments together. The romance between Gong Ju Young and Wang Ja Rim might be hard to watch for some people at first but I promise that it gets better pretty quickly. It doesn't drag on for way too long and you get to see the development of their relationship and the character development of Wang Ja Rim. This drama didn't just focus on the romance though; Gong Ju and Wang Ja's friends were heavily involved in the show as well. Many episodes featured their whole friend group hanging out together and it was just really fun to watch. I loved the friendship aspect in this drama.
This might be irrelevant but I'd like to point out that they were actually able to swear in this drama because it is not being shown on national TV in Korea (it is a Kakao TV webdrama). I like that the characters were able to swear in the show because there's originally a lot of swearing in the webtoon and it demonstrates realistic dialogue between teenagers.
(!Maybe a spoiler?): Based on the ending of this drama (after the end credits), I feel like there's a strong possibility that there will be a season 2. The webtoon is still ongoing and the producers of this drama still have a lot of content that they can work with.
ACTING/CAST
I was really excited when I heard Park Jihoon was going to play Gong Ju Young. I cannot imagine anyone else playing Gong Ju other than PJH. He was perfect for the role. Most of the main cast in this drama are rookie actors/actresses and I thought they did really well in their first drama. Everyone's acting was natural. It really felt like I was watching a bunch of teenagers in high school. What really impressed me is that the main cast looked EXACTLY like the characters in the webtoon. Hair/makeup/costume crew did an excellent job. Also, I'd really like to see Lee Ruby in other dramas in the future. Wang Ja Rim is originally a very emotionless character and Lee Ruby did well portraying her but due to the character's demeanor, Lee Ruby wasn't able to show her acting skills that much here. I'm looking forward to her new projects~
MUSIC
This drama has 4 OSTs and they're pretty good. I liked PJH's Midnight and the song Pit-a-Pat the most. They're super catchy!
REWATCH VALUE
Personally, I think the rewatch value of this show is high. If I stumble upon it again, I'll probably watch a random episode. It's easy to re-watch because the episodes are short and fun.
OVERALL
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this drama! I watched it from Sept to Dec, twice a week while it was still on going so I'm really gonna miss this show as it had become a part of my weekly routine. I loved the story and the cast. I may be a little biased though because I've been a reader of the webtoon for a long time. It's just super fun to watch and it may be reminiscent of your high school days. It has its cheesy moments but it should be expected from a teen rom-com based on a webtoon. If you are looking for something lighthearted, heart fluttering, easy, and fun to watch, I highly recommend Love Revolution!
*I've been an English reader of the webtoon for a few years now but Eng translations currently only go up to chapter 76 so I haven't really gotten that far in the webtoon bc there are A LOT of chapters =(

Awesome! But what's with the ending?
Wow the actors are really talented- not to mention the script writers. The whole story played out so naturally, sometimes it seemed like a real high school experience. It's the classic love story, comedy between friends and unrequited love. Luckily, though there was some one sided feelings, a love triangle didnt really happen which i was happy about because damn do they get old. Overall, the drama was perfect though the cringe is definitely there sometimes. I'd definitely recommend it. SPOILER AHEAD I was really hoping for Min Ji and Kyung Woo to get together. Also the ending was really weird- it felt like there was supposed to be another episofe after. I'm really rooting for another season but there's not really been any talk about it so we'll seeWas this review helpful to you?

Love
literally my favorite web drama ever. I fell in love with younghoon and Da Eun. Their acting is so good especially Younghoon’s since this is his acting debut. I really hope for the last 3 episodes we get Minji and Kyung Woo to finally be together I ship them soo much. I really recommend this drama, not only is it funny, but it's also so cute and suspenseful at times.[random words bc limit is 500] to a different from that the only thing you need a lot of people are going to get it right away from the city center of the room with fireplace with an open source project to a different from that the only thing you need a lot of people are going to get it right away from the city center of the room with fireplace with an open source project to a different from that the only thing you need a lot of people are going to get

A Relevant High School (Love) Memories
Unaware of the manhwa, I found the story is so exaggerating in the beginning. Led with Gong Juyeong, a jumpy and cheerful teenage boy who has an obsession over a tsundere girl Wang Jarim, who has a little interest to none for a boy when they met accidentally in a bus. My first impression about Juyoung isn't quite impressive, he is pushy and also overreacting. I get it why Jarim gets more disinterested. But, this is also the interesting part that the role of genders here are not put in separating boxes, and we get many revelant impressions of high school friends.I get to love how the story is easy to follow, it's an instant boost with their cheeky and simple moments of puppy love. I don't remember when I could enjoy a light love story this much.
There are more to reveal about the other leads in the clique, I am anticipating for more!
P.S. I started the manhwa too and it's quite accurate at the moment I am reading, good job for interpreting them like this!

The only ones who can act in this drama is the male lead and the one who acts as Kyungmin
I never expected good acting from this drama before i decided to watch it. But when I watched it, the male lead and kyungmin guy's acting are pretty good. Others are so-so, even so bad. Especially the female lead and 2nd male lead, to the point i was so pissed every time they appeared. They are like ROBOTS. For story it's quite fun, thanks to male lead and his male friends (kyungmin and byung(?)). I didn't watch the webtoon before. So after watching first 4 episodes, i tried to read the webtoon version. I was kinda shocked, 2nd lead Gyungwoo character in the webtoon is so different from the drama. In the webtoon yes he's kinda cold but you can feel the bad boy vibe, his iconic smirk, his stupid laugh. But in the drama, he has no expression, too soft, stiff, the drama version gave me awkward vibes a lot. I don't know if they changed his character in the drama or it was the actor who really can't act. Same case with Wang Jarim and Oh Aram. But i read the news they changed Aram a bit, since Aram never did aegyo like what Aram in the drama did. It's just I don't understand why these 2 characters (Gyungwoo and Jarim) are so different from the webtoon. Was this review helpful to you?
Hmmmmm
love love love the webtoon so muchbut
this drama/show clearly sabotaged park jihoon. didnt show his character's back story so that people can atleast understand why he is the way he is, gave him horrible make up and styling. good thing he's such a good actor, he carried himself in any scene may it be comical or emotional.
as much as the plot needs a season 2, many people dont want it. if it really pushes through, they could replace jihoon or make kaeng/minji the main couple though it's unlikely bec kaeng doesnt like minji at all lol
anyways, jihoon was casted as a male lead in a new drama called from a distance, green spring because he's a good actor and he thrives and we love to see it

An enjoyable drama to watch!
Alright, since I watched this drama religiously for Younghoon, Jihoon and Dayoung, I'm going to make a short but in-depth review for each rating (story, characters, etc) because I enjoyed this story and the OSTs quite a lot and am really expecting a season 2 after a cliff-hanger type of ending! It's a big recommendation!Story: the story itself was something expected from a webtoon-based drama, a group of high schoolers, at least 1-2 couples within that group, the drama, the unrequited love, etc. It really portrayed the timeline of Gongjoo and Wangja's relationship very well, and showed lots about each character's personality as well! There really isn't anything surprising to the plot as it's a typical high school romance kdrama, but I personally never get tired of these dramas and the drama portraying many different scenarios from dramatic to comedy scenes makes it enjoyable to watch.
Acting/Characters: All the characters have such amazing chemistry on the set! I was really surprised by how well Younghoon, Jihoon and Dayoung acted in this drama! I've stanned all of them for so long and they really pulled off their characters well! Daeun and Ruby, and the rest of the friends also had such good acting skills and the characters they had really match them well. As for the characters, it really disappointed me how Kyeongwoo and Minji did not have a relationship, but I have hopes that a 2nd season will portray that! The character development of Jarim was great, and it made me smile how Gongjoo felt happy when she finally grew into a person to show her feelings. Give Jinhui, Byunghoon and Kyungmin someone!! Also, I hope Minji becomes more honest with her feelings when (if) season 2 comes out because I feel kinda bad for Sanghoon. Ah Ram and Jisoo are also sooo funny.
Overall: The OST by ONF, Not a Sad Song, is such a good song, and it's so refreshing. I really enjoyed this drama as a whole and the characters being portrayed by my fave idols just makes me love it even more. Again, the chemistry is just there with all the characters. I hope that it will be like A-Teen almost, where season one focuses on one pairing, then season 2 will focus on another pairing within the friend group because I can't let Kyeongwoo and Minji go like that. We need them to be the end game for a potential season 2. It also wouldn't make sense if there was no season 2 for a drama like this and for that kind of ending, with an introduction to a new character and the photos of the cast with Minji and Kyeongwoo looking in the same direction. Let's hope for a season 2 !!!

Good Enough
Korean Mini Drama "Love Revolution" is fun at times but it was boring overall. Probably what kept things going in the second half is the second couple, whose story was left, unfortunately, unconcluded and with an open ending, suggesting to a probable second season. The friendship parts were pretty interesting as well, especially since the characters had chemistry and they were fun together. However, the main love story was just okay. The biggest chunk of the time was the male lead supporting the whole relationship while the female lead looked uncomfortable, uninterested and simply not into it. The pace, also, slowed down after the first part and the story got boring.
At least the performances were pretty enjoyable. Especially the male lead was delightful and entertaining.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Best comedy drama
It's the best comedy drama watched in 2020 ..hope season 2 comes fast...park jihoon acting was great 🥰😍..hope kyung woo and minji end happily in season 2....I'm a big fan of park jihoon 💙.......it will be sad if kyung woo turns evil for wang ja rim........park jihoon is so cute and lovely in this drama which is opposite of his character........but I loved it ☺ the plot was great and enjoying you won't feel bore and the drama is not logging or boring .Its quite refreshing and new type of drama. The female lead acting is good and her character is good and strong .Not a typical female lead who is weak she is strong and brave and character and her relationship with main lead developed beautifully and it is good to watch. And then male lead his character is so so funny that sometimes you will roll on your bed with laughing and his character is so so cute you will find it different as the male lead is not the one you will always watch .He is cute and funnyWas this review helpful to you?
