- both drama is historical, but the series set in 1987, and the movie sets on the 1970s
- it has a good and age-appropiate background
- drama with action and suspense
Recommended by LimSooho
- it's about the democratic movement and struggle of Korean people for the freedom
- A Taxi Driver is about a true story, but Snowdrop is a fiction
- Both sets on the time of Fifth Republic of Korea
Recommended by LimSooho
- the events are on the same year
- both sad but instructive
- I recommend the movie to everybody who interested in Korean history and would like to understand the background of the series

* Both shows are historical, political dramas with some romance. (I would say Snowdrop is 50% romantic melodrama + 50% political thriller. Whereas The Rebel focuses more on the war, espionage and politics (65%), but the 35% of the romance is muuuch more powerful, evident and dramatic; and the leads have better chemistry!)

* Both shows depict the struggle for power between two opposing parties (Snowdrop takes place during SK presidential elections, while The Rebel takes place during China's Civil War).

* Forbidden romance trope: in Snowdrop we have the SK National Intelligence director's daughter and a NK spy that is holding her captive; in The Rebel the FL is an underground communist that is targeted by the ML (a secret agent of the nationalist party).

* FLs are students with somewhat powerful fathers, while the MLs are agents/spies.

* Both MLs have doubts / change their political views, because of the FLs. And all they want to do is protect the FLs.

* I just find the vibe of these two shows similar - I really recommend watching The Rebel (for the plot, the visuals and the romance).

Although 'Snowdrop' and 'Imitation' are very different in terms of genres, I would still like to recommend 'Snowdrop'. 'Snowdrop' has an idol actor named Kim Jisoo who will be acting for the first time in a lead role. Just like Jisoo, idol actor Jeong Yunho will also be acting for the first time in a lead role.

In both series Male leads are working for secret agency

The hero and heroine meet eachother anonymously and fell in love with eachother at first sight.

The female lead doesn't know the identity of the guy and get to know about it later

Guy tells heroine his real name and starts trusting her only

For protecting his love ML tries to get away from the FL

Main lead is executing mission which is quite dangerous

Both Main leads are goodlooking and have an amazing chemistry with their Female leads.

Both have similar kinda vibes where Male lead have deadly experiences and get shot.

If you love Snowdrop you will definitely like Mysterous Love. Go for it, thank me later ;)

- both carry the theme of North Korea and South Korea
- contains the theme of the president in south korea
- The relationship between the main characters in these two dramas is the same at first, they
have a sweet relationship, and in the middle they experience a heavy conflict

The FL is smart, hardworking, loyal and the most misunderstood character like SoHoo and she is so much protective of the ML who is innocent, soft, sensitive and gentle like Youngro who doesn’t know that she’ protecting him like an angel all the time….

It’s rare to find such type of …..Role reversal dramas

Youngro is homologous to ML in my mister and
Sohoo is homologous to FL

They both protect their loved ones till their last breath

You feel similar type of angst too

But both these dramas have completely different backdrops

- there are lot of violent death
- it's more thriller and romance

They somehow share some similarities as both shows are involved with hostage-taking situation which took the part of thickening their plot. A lot of conflicts also take place in the setting that entail each of the characters' roles/stories in surviving every day they went through.

Snowdrop gives me the same feels as Chicago typewriter. Here both of the stories are set in olden times, with a movement or revolution going around. Chicago typewriter is set in I guess a bit more older time period than Snowdrop.

In both the female lead falls first for the male lead. (Unrequited love alert)
In addition to this, Chicago Typewriter involves reincarnation too. The Osts of both the dramas are top notched as well as the acting. Chicago typewriter starts out a bit slow at first, but slowly and slowly it gets better and better and would give you magical feels until the end.

Definitely recommended.
