very slow for a drama with such short episodes

Initially, I thought that the drama would be rather fast paced considering the fact that it only has 22 episodes. Yet, the pacing was sooooo slow, you only get to see them together towards the end of the show, with 5 episodes remaining. Their time together also didn’t make the wait worth it. There were many push and pull moments, and it was rather ridiculous when it was very obvious that they had feelings for each other. If they didn’t, then what they did would feel very uncomfortable when he had kissed her twice before they enter a relationship.

The ML’s character was annoying in the beginning, where he was the typical jerk who was kind of rude. However, just a few episodes in, you’ll actually notice that he was the sweetest one in the show. He’s kind, and always thanking the people who had helped him. I’m glad for his character development or I would have disliked his character. On the other hand, the FL’s character did not change throughout the show, and her character kind of annoys me.

To be honest, the casts lack chemistry. At a point in time, I actually want them to stop kissing because it doesn’t even give me the feels. Instead, it felt very unnecessary. Their love for each other doesn’t reach me too, it feels a bit superficial and just not the type of feeling I receive from seeing a couple.

Towards the end the show tries to rush every single thing in like 2 episodes? Where the annoying jerk, ML’s friend found his true love, and ML’s sister suddenly confesses to FL’s friend. Everything just felt so rushed and ridiculous when they could have paced it properly to add in all these couples from the start.

Overall, this is quite a disappointing drama after a long wait. As much as I like Zhao Yi Qin, I didn’t enjoy this drama. It may be good for people who doesn’t really care for plot and is just here for a slightly cute and funny drama. :)

Sweet and fluffy

Production was pretty good, music matched, actors were really great (esp the leads; I really like the FL); car sticker was from 2018 so maybe they filmed back then. But don't come here if you're looking for a good storyline. The story is 100% fluff (the business portion isn't really realistic and the girl has so much free time every day), but most of the screentime is on their relationship. Also, these kids really are from well-off families (the FL bought $5k worth of furniture (approx $1k USD) for the ML when they were barely friends???). There's also quite a long period of awkward "liking each other but not official" time but I think that's expected with many fluff pieces. The ending wasn't my favorite--it felt like a short web-drama type of ending, but it was still happy.
One thing that stood out to me was that unlike other fluff dramas, the CEO doesn't have zero EQ (he's a little awkward but he's nice to those around him) and the FL doesn't have zero brain cells (she's top of her class and great at baseball and drawing). Overall, this is definitely a good filler drama if you want to smile every episode (there's basically no antagonist) and well-rounded characters.

ONE TIME WATCH---Only if you have nothing else to watch

The drama has good acting. But if you are watching it for a story that is good, you might regret it. its a feel good drama.

The ML’s character suffers from a speaking distress in the beginning, where he was the typical rude person. But the FL's hand made ice creams work for him and he finds ways to persuade her to make ice creams. the story is very unrealistic but thats a given since its a mushy mushy drama. He’s kind, and always grateful to people. On the other hand, the FL’s character is played by the one who is victoria songs sister in broker. she acts okay but her dialouge delivery kind of annoys me.

The casts lacked chemistry though. And once they get into relationship all they do is kiss! so if you like a lot of kisses you are in for a treat. Thats the only time you get an evidence that they love each other :P

The story and direction are just bearable. I watched it only for zhao.

Very Light & Fluffy.

Is the story rich and complex? No. Frankly I'm not even sure what he does for work.
BUT! If you don't care about all the details and you just want a really cute story with a fair bit of laughs than this is the story for you. Also, I wasn't bored once they got together. I was really curious how they would be together.

To be honest, the ML did some bold/direct things in this drama. Things I have wished would happen in other dramas but because of his social disorder he doesn't really care what others think (besides the FL obviously) and he just does what he wants to do. I love that he's not at all shy about things. He's very matter of fact. Blushing does not exist for this ML.

I did skip around a little but never the main couple. They were too interesting to watch. The ML was unpredictable. Would he be cold/unemotional (because of his disorder) or would he randomly do something very sweet?

Would Recommend - only for a quick, "I don't know what else to watch" drama
Not Re-Watch Material. The ending left me with too many questions.

Nearly Dropped This One

From the first episode I was close to dropping this drama. I felt that it was boring and awkward, but I was determined to give it a fair chance by completing it.

As the summary states, Zhao Yi Qin plays Su M who has trouble communicating. I’m guessing mostly due to directing, he plays this role extremely flat. Very robotic. When He Yu (who was also in My Fated Boy) entered a scene with his social personality it was like a breath of fresh air.

The pace of the drama is very slow. Any heart touching scenes were stretched out so badly I sometimes pressed my forward button. ➡️

Then there’s the ending. ???? It did not fully show what happened. Wondering if they edited out parts that would have helped tie it all together. After holding out through 22 episodes, I at least needed a fully explained ending.

All in all, I didn’t hate this drama, but I didn’t feel it had enough to make it worth my watch time.

As title really a sweet drama

A must watch drama.
I was expecting a change in Chinese dramas and finally got one. Usually in Chinese dramas the ML is so rich and cold etc.. etc.., I was expecting a change in this kind of dramas and this is the one. After watching a clip in YouTube I felt this is different from other Chinese dramas but I was thinking to drop this drama because I was not happy ML but I decided to watch this because of the FL, she is soo cute and perfect for this character. Both ML and FL did their job well especially the FL I can say she has a very much talented and have a bright future and I am very happy for not missing this drama.
At the ending episodes I felt little draggy but not get bored, you can enjoy the whole drama but don’t expect any challenging in carrier wise or character building. If you want to watch just a cute and sweet love story you can have a try. Even though ML and FL got committed little late but from first episodes their chemistry is very good.
I like this drama because there is no love rivalry or negative characters. Throughout the drama all are sweet moments.

Sweet and uncomplicated

As the title claims this drama is sweet. I sometimes find Chinese romance to be stiff with the female lead being over the top, either incompetent or clingy and the romance to be forced. This is not the case here. The female lead Ding Yi Yi’s character Tian Tian De is likeable and is well matched to the male lead Zhao Zi Qin (playing Su Mu) Chinese dramas often reinforce traditional female roles so it was nice to see some nods to respecting women in this series. Su Mu listens Tian Tian. When she tells him to stop drinking he does. He knows she is conflicted about studying abroad so creates the conditions for her decision to go. As an audience you are willing to forgive plot gaps like Su Mu’s Aphasia (a condition where one loses the ability to speak) which comes and goes as well as his OCD, because the couple is so cute to watch and SuMu’s repeated affection for Tian Tian is endearing. Also nice is there are no evil women in the series trying to plot against this couple. SuMu’s ex even grows to love Tian Tian after she saves her from a scammer. The only downside of the series is the ending which was rushed and confusing . You don’t know what happened to Tian Tian’s study in the UK, or how much time has passed before they end up in the container together. Have two year’s passed? The ending seemed unsatisfying after such a nice drama. Don’t let it deter you though. It’s an enjoyable watch.

Confusing Ending

After really enjoying the story and the couple, getting to Episode 22 and being left so confused was extremely annoying. I watched Episode 22 twice because it is so hard to understand. Very disappointing after being so invested in the story and the couple to have such a baffling ending. 😕 They could have solved a lot of confusion with a simple “2 years Later” or something like that. The ending was missing an engagement ring too. After he told her how he felt he should have pulled out a ring.

Cute But Confusing

It was cute and sweet but not very realistic. The male lead character with OCD and barely with no lines. When he did speak he had one or two word sentence. If they should have had the female lead character know sing language that way we could see how she communicated with him. They seem to read each others mind which was a miracle. The female lead character love to talk and I did not liked how they made her clumsy and stupid but yet she was award a scholarship to go to an over sea university. I think that made her smart. The first 10 episodes is how they like each other but won't admit it. There was a little to much push and pull game but once they got together they show great chemistry and romantic. The male lead really liked to kiss her but very few words. I did not like the ending. Was it a dream or was it real? Do they get together or do they separate and later get together? Does question were left in my mind. The other characters were also thrown it and out and made it confusing. It is short and cute so give it a try. The actor do a good job in there performance. The writer should have done a better job.

The Male Leading Character Makes It Worth Watching

**This is just my opinion. I truly appreciate all of the hard work that went into the making of this drama. Thank you.**

I watched this drama because I loved Zhao Yi Qin's performance in Hard to Find. I'm so glad that I did. He did a wonderful job playing a socially awkward genius with obsessive compulsive disorder and speech aphasia. As his character develops and opens up we get to see how thoughtful, caring, generous, funny, sweet and romantic he is. Zhao Yi Qin is positively adorable as Su Mu and the main reason why I stuck it out to complete the series.

The story itself wasn't well written. If the reason behind Su Mu's speech aphasia is ever revealed I missed it somehow. I kept waiting to find out what his trauma was or why he needed to consume very cold things---previously ice water but switching to ice cream when he met the female lead---but never got the answer. We don't ever learn why Tian Tian De and her ice cream are able to help Su Mu overcome his speech difficulties either. We just have to watch scene after scene about the making of, obtaining or consuming it. There are some very sweet and funny moments but they are overshadowed by the rest of the poor writing and the awful ending.

The female lead character, Tian Tian De, played by Ding Yi Yi was absolutely obnoxious. I hate to hate on characters but they gave her very few redeeming qualities. She's incredibly childish, entitled, lazy, arrogant, loud mouthed, has terrible table manners and what's worse, has the personal hygiene habits of a teenage boy, lol. I was appalled. She is a talented artist, is a good baseball player and is clever with good people skills when she wants to. She shows a bit of growth over time but not a lot.

He Yu was incredibly funny as Wang Yan Yi. The poor guy got took so many glasses of water to the face that I felt sorry for him. Liu Yan Cheng, who played Li Di, did a wonderful job too.

The production budget for this show must have been very low. The characters wore the same outfits for several days in a row for no apparent reason and had wore the same thing so many times that everyone was commenting on it in the chats. It sounds like a petty thing to mention but the characters were supposed to be wealthy. The young women were wearing plain overalls all the time. It was inconsistent.

Even though I said those negative things I would still recommend this show. Why? Because it was really nice to see a very kind, sweet man who stayed that way throughout. Sometimes we all need to believe that they exist.

Vanilla ice cream with lips on top

This is a drama you watch for the lack of overly annoying characters and lips of Zhao Yi Qin who are covered with an endless amount of lipgloss and ride the thin line between to many close ups and just enough close ups... As this is indeed a male lead that communicates by touch of lip instead of words or wrist grabs. To be clear he still uses a wrist grab or two, it just not his main line of communication, and neither are words of any kind.

Our female lead is pretty lovable, mostly friendly forward and may she may not be the god of intelligence she is not really stupid either. She is pretty strong, talented and has very few moments of pathetic.

Both leads are however extremely child like, the female lead in the way she dresses the male lead in the way he acts. There is not much of a story but some ok friendships, a nice representation of a happily married long time couple but also a bunch of really mistreated animals.

The leads acting is decent but some of the supporting roles seem to need to get an acting lesson or ten.

It is an ok watch when in need of fluff and pretty people and things to look at but otherwise it really is kind of bland... vanilla ice cream made by some person with a hang over who dropped the whole tub of sugar in to the mix without noticing.

Not much happened throughout the whole show

The show was cute, but there just wasn't anything happening. Each episode brought more of the same. I don't like a lot of angst in the shows that I watch, but there has to be some kind of drama to drive the episodes forward. This did not have that. You could literally come in on any episode and not feel like you have missed anything.

I thought the highlight of this drama was the architecture. The house on the rocks was really cool. The office where he worked, surrounded by walls of books was nice too.

Acting - Zhao Yi Qin as Su Mu was the typical cold, emotionless man that we've seen countless times in countless other dramas. I do have to say that he is VERY attractive, and once he warmed up a little he was a joy to watch. Ding Yi Yi as Tian Tian De...hmmm, I don't know if it was because of the writing or her acting, but I just wasn't impressed. She is a beautiful young lady, and they made a cute couple, but she spend an inordinate amount of time being "cute".

The dubbing in Chinese dramas is always problematic for me. WHY in the world do they use the same woman with the same whiny voice in so many of these?! Then there are the open-eyed, still-as-a-statue kisses. Please, if you want me to believe that they like each other, there needs to be some kind of emotion!

I'm not giving a spoiler to say that I REALLY loved the scene with the ear buds. That was an extremely cute and sweet scene, but not enough so to make up for the rest of the show. I'd say that if you want to watch something sweet, with no drama, and you don't want to get invested in the characters at all, give this show a try.
