good romance drama though cliche

romantic drama which differs from other dramas only thanks male lead being blind... thanks it drama goes around problems of different views on world between blind and those who can see. Moreover how being handicapped is viewed by regular population.

plot - FL is college student which falls in love on first sight with handsome ML. Later on she gets to know he is blind, but even through it she pursues him. Sadly for her being blind aint only wall defending the heart of ML.

genre -romance

a cute yet unexpectedly dark plot

Firstly, the plot was nicely paced. It was an interesting start, where Nianqin is someone with disability and a rough past. This resulted him to become a cold person to protect himself from pain. On the other hand, Wuyan is someone who is relatively positive, though a little immature at times.

To be honest, I didn’t like how the writer used two lives to act as a catalyst (though it’s just a drama) yet the pain from not being able to see the last moment of your loved ones hurt so much. I wasn’t sure she would forgive him, yet she did.

I would like to see the situation in both their perspectives. Personally, I feel that they’re both at fault, and you couldn’t just put all the blame on Nianqin, though he may have a bigger part to play. She kind of added on to Nianqin’s insecurity by hiding things from her, and he shouldn’t have denied and doubted her when she told him about her dad.

Also, I didn’t really like the way he chased her again, it felt as if he was forcing her to stay (even though I know she still had feelings for him). It was just the way they portrayed the scenes that made me feel uncomfortable.

Towards the end, they kind of touched and go (hospital scene) the healing part about her best friend, which I couldn’t really understand. I guess it was because he has done enough throughout to show her that he is her present??? However, the plot was still decent overall, and I like all the cute moments.

As for the acting, I’m looking forward to their project projects! They both did so well in this drama, clearly portraying the personalities of the characters. So glad the drama did well, and hope that people will continue to look forward to their future projects too.

As for the music, I love the OSTs!!! Yet I feel that the person who adds the sound effects shouldn’t continue working in that position because that ONE creepy sound effect throughout the ENTIRE drama is annoying af.

Overall, I enjoy the drama well. I would rewatch the cute scenes such as pouty and whiny Nianqin.

Great potential not fully developed

What I liked

The FL is so great
The storyline is new and rich
There are 3 really beautiful songs

What I didn't like
Couldn't figure out if the ML is not a good actor or if the issue is the limited character development bordering on unhealthy obsessions
There is a dismal background theme. It is quite depressing and it would be all right to be used in the actual painful memory scenes however it is liberally used throughout the drama in the main lead's interaction rendering it a constant "doom" feeling instead of a romantic one. This was actually my main issue with this show and often I had to mute the scenes. They might have realized there was an issue with it because towards the last story arc it was not used anymore.
The storyline with so much great potential felt undeveloped and at times disjunction and forced.
The FL has obvious issues in the kissing scenes and tightly closed her lips as if disgusted by it. That was weird LOL. I actually admire the dramas where the main leads don't need to obviously kiss in the lips yet are able to convey amazing chemistry and romantic feelings by closeness and tenderness.

Amazing 10/10 First Half, Disappointing Second Half

When I heard this had Lin Yanjun and was a sentimental, moving story about someone with disabilities, I was so intrigued. And it definitely didn’t disappoint me in the first half! Everything from the cinematography, to the pacing and storyline, and evocative emotions the leads channeled into their acting was WAY more than I’d expected. By just the first half alone, I was so ready to rate this a 10/10 and shove it in my list of favourite dramas.

However… the second half happened.

I don’t know what happened along the way, but once Nian Qin (Yanjun’s character) got his eyesight back post-breakup, he became a douchebag. He became self-entitled, manipulative, and cunning, willing to do anything to get the FL back. And even though Wu Yan (Wang Peng’s character) understandably backed away from him for being so obsessed and controlling of her life, she ultimately returned to his side by the end.

I’m not sure why people are still romanticizing possessiveness, but disability or not, crazy rich or not, the legendary composer Yijin or not, he should not have acted as he did to Wuyan. It didn’t make much sense. I even wondered if this was a symbolic thing that once he broke up with her and got his eyesight back, he began to forget how he treated her before, because he started to take her for granted. Post breakup, he treated her as if her opinions didn’t matter anymore, as he quickly made all decisions for her. All she had to do was comply. It was like all his character development went down the drain, and so even if it was technically a “happy ending” for the couple, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

As for the rewatch value? I’d rewatch the first half, but end it there. It’s really a shame when promising dramas like this one are ruined by possessive leads that reinforce patriarchal stereotypes that men have to always be dominant, influential and powerful in comparison to the submissive women, but alas, it is what it is.

i have never written any review but this drama

This drama was epic I can never forget these couple their chemistry was amazing and Evan has great talent in acting and singing and wan peng is my favorite actress since she acted in my girlfriend is an alien. Now, when it's come to the story line, it is different from any c drama because I have been watching c dramas for around 2 years and this was my unforgettable and with beautiful acting and drama made me joules of wan peng so you can understand. The plot was amazing and let me tell it was much better than k-drama and it is true that until 17 to 18 ep it was amazing but the ending was a little bit boring .......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Skippable

Story: It’s an interesting story of how a visually impaired man struggles with his life and also being successful at it. You will learn that they just want to be treated as normal people, which they are, but they just need less to no reminder of their disability. I think it was good until it was forgotten. The pace of the plot was slow then it was fast which I didn’t find helpful to give more points to this drama. Too many questions unanswered. If you have watched this, you’d know what I mean. Even the little girl was forgotten, how ironic. The ending was just meh. Don’t know the purpose for that sort of suspense before they give us the happy ending.

Acting: as LYJ’s first main lead drama, I think he did great, especially acting as a sorta blind person. I’m sure he’ll improve more if he will pursue acting and do dramas, I just hope it won’t be all cold personas. Wan Peng’s acting is great too except during her friends scenes. I don’t see any chemistry with them. It’s like they are NOT really friends. Not to mention the side characters. They were totally a facepalm couple, their acting were amateurish. I finished this drama in a day because there were too many skippable moments. Although I liked the surprise or twist of yanyan’s friend, I’m just quite sad how they didn’t push through that plot, I think it would be interesting but I guess it would be difficult to pull off.

Music: some good songs that can make you feel giddy or sad that were perfect for the scenes.

Rewatch value: I personally won’t watch it again. Not even clips are worth rewatching.

Overall: Because some of my cdrama friends loved this one, I thought it would be good or maybe the main leads’ chemistry would be amazing but I wasn’t feeling it. I felt like LYJ is just a gentleman and there were no special chemistry with WP. If they will have a second collaboration, maybe they will be more comfortable with each other.

Finally finished watching "Crush",this drama is soooo beautiful.
"Crush" tells the story of Su Nian Qin and Sang Wu Yan. Nian qin is blind from birth(not entirely though)and he is a famous song writer who doesn't want to disclose his identity. On the other hand Sang Wu Yan is a radio host also a very big fan of Yi Jin(NianQin stage name),when she had bad times his songs made her happy. One day they met by the lake and Wu Yan was amazed by Nian Qin and it was love at first sight.Wu yan had to teach in a braile school for her education purpose where she sees Nian Qin and try hard to pursue him. The story continues as Su Nian Qin start to fall in love with Sang wu Yan, how they overcome all problems and at some point Wu Yan left him not because she didn't love him because she had her own family problem which Nian Qin couldn't understand. Nian Qin do surgery for his eyes and they meet after 3 years.
What will happen when they meet again? If you need to know then watch CRUSH😂

Sweet and fascinating ❤

Such an intriguing drama it is. Saw a clip yesterday in YouTube for this drama and I was instantly hooked to it. Completed this drama in less than 2 days 😂
I loved how Wu Yan used to cherish Nian Qin and cared about him without being bothered about his partial visual impairment. I loved their first day of being together with that adorable kiss scene.. it gave me butterflies.. All her friends are a gem who too didn't discriminate and were so supportive of their relationship. I literally cried when Wu Yan bursted at Nian Qin for the first time in the hospital and then they broke up.. I was mad at him for not getting her back and which led me to think that maybe he doesn't love her as she does. But then in the 2nd half we saw his jealously when he heard she is going on blind dates and the way he courted her made me feel I was wrong and he loves and cherishes her as she does, it's just that because of his low self-esteem he didn't know how to do.. I really laughed and enjoyed the scene when Nian Qin started that 'ritual' :D He is such a cutey and I loved the bonding between him and Xiao Lu .. I super liked that they didn't add any unnecessary love triangle ..

I loved the way she cared and loved him in the first part and the way he pampered and loved her in the 2nd part of the series.. It was wonderful how she was with him when he didn't know how to love and when she was broken he became her sun and protected her.. They are just perfect for each other.. The ending was perfect too with their adorable daughter :)

The ML looks so cute in specs .. Both the leads were too good and did complete justice to their respective roles.. The music and ost is just amazing in this drama.. There are so many beautiful quotes a If you are looking for light hearted romance then just go for it :)

If you want to watch light drama then this drama is for you

" Sun is for day, moon is for night, and you...forever..."

Omg I am addicted to this drama!!!
Wan Peng & Evan Lin 😘😘😘

Now let me discuss the elements of the drama one by one or strand by strand.
First of all the selection of characters is perfect, Wan Peng did a really good job on her acting. Her skills is superb and amazing, ever since I watched Wan Peng's dramas I fall in love with her even though I am a girl :). Lin Yanjun is also perfect even though it's my first time to watch evan lin act I immediately fall for him he did a pretty good job and now I stan him. In short they deserved lots of love, support and awards

Second is the story, the story makes me fall in love again when there comes a part where the leads is going to kiss or hug I feel the butterflies in my stomach. The story is amazing it is kind of relatable and full of lessons.

Lastly is the angles, scripts, and lighting. I want to thank all the staffs who made the drama, this is the kind of drama I have been waiting for thank you all for making a perfect and amazing drama. The lightings used is so soothing and it doesn't make my eye hurts. The angles are also perfect and the scripts is also relatable.

This drama deserves to be broadcasted on some television channels abroad.

Great movie

Barely write a review and was hesitant to watch this movie but tried it because of the ratings and reviews. Definitely it was worth the watch! ML’s first movie but definitely did not act like a rookie more so, much more convincing then a lot of experienced actors. The chemistry was great between the leads and the story line was smooth and straight forward. Enjoyed it from the beginning to the end with just the right touch of sweetness…. The OST were a great fit to specific scenes and more so amazing was the ML was the one singing one of the main songs. Beautiful voice and quite a addictive to listen too as well, gives it a little spice to the love/romantic scenes to the main leads.

A drama that feels like a warm-hug!

Here is my unsolicited opinion concerning this drama. Overall, it was an amazing drama. But, the biggest issue I had with it is how they handled the breakup of Wu Yan and Nian Qin. The miscommunication and blame game killed my vibe for a bit. Moreover, I expected more details about the death of Cheng Yin and how Wu Yan's paranoia healed little by little. I was waiting for them to disclose more information about Wu Yan's roommate in her hometown and how her mother and friends have been helping her cope with her mental illness, but no, that wasn't what happened since it is not the main focus of the plot, I guess. Besides, in the final episode, they kept going on about how boys shouldn't cry and how women are weak and are apt to be protected by men. That kind of mentality throws and tips me off. What was the point? Moving on to the things I loved most about the drama. The first thing that stood out for me is how Wu Yan didn't give special treatment to Nian Qin when he was blind. I loved that a lot. She treated him the way she would treat someone who doesn't have a visual impairment. The same applies to the autistic kid she was taking care of. Furthermore, the cozy, relaxing vibe and music choice in the background were top-notch. Besides, the characters were conversing with one another in a close-to-whispering style; it started to feel like an ASMR at one point. I would love to keep going about this, but I will stop here because I do not want to make things unnecessarily lengthy.
