Both have rich boy- poor girl relationships. Lots of misunderstandings too. The only different thing is that in HYD the story gets more time in school. The violence in HYD is more like bullying.

My Lucky Star is a drama while the other is a movie. both are cute in a sense of romance, and hilarious with a mix of drama. highly recommend
