Eiji is a law student; Takkun is a singer in a fringe rock band, Taka-chan is a clerk. The film begins with a meeting between the three characters, nearly in their fourth decades, chatting under a cherry tree in full blossom. The past is clearly the dominant element of their lives; they reminisce about their days together in a rock band, trying to compensate for a not-particularly-promising present and a worryingly unknown future. A short time passes and we see two of them, dressed in black suits, on the way back from the funeral of their friend. This is the starting-point for a bout of alcoholic drinking in the big city.
