An Idol Drama That Actually Makes An Effort!

It's a rite of passage in KPop for a group to have their own drama. But it is a wholly different story for that idol drama to do what a proper drama (or webseries) would.

"Can I Step In?" puts all previous idol dramas (that I have watched) to shame. It is funny, thoughtful, endearing and just plain adorable. Unlike most idol dramas, it also has an actual overarching story and a teeny element of mystery.

To better phrase the story, it's a short and sweet tale of 5 boys waiting for their new roommate having to undergo the shock of finding out that there's been miscommunication and she's actually a female. What follows is chaos as these 5 boys with diverging personalities, adjust living in the same house with 1 very enthusiastic, outgoing girl who recently returned to Korea from the States.

The acting across the board is extremely well done. Not one of the characters felt lacking in comparison to the others. Can I also just say (feel free to stop reading here if you consider even minor details as spoilers) I appreciate that we didn't get a reverse harem trope in this drama and everyone was just the most wholesome little ball of goodness ever.

If I have to nitpick at something, it would be at the lack of Jihu. I wanted more of my beautiful Yuto. All I can say is each of the boys owns my heart and I wouldn't be surprised if 3/6 end up getting offers for actual roles in actual dramas! Godspeed!

I don't have much else to say except for STAN ONF YOU COWARDS!

Actually deserves watching it

So, usually idol dramas have nice stories, however production and acting are really bad. I can't blame the idols, because not every single one of them can be good at acting, but at least production should put some effort on it.

In Can I Step In, man things happened, which i did not expect to happen. The story was very nice, interesting and funny. It didn't felt uncomfortable to watch, and it did have some unexprected moments. In 10 episodes, I felt that everything had a good pace. The story wasn't rushed and didn't have unecessary moments. I loved the ending. I thought that either Alex would stop the car and go back to be with Tae Jun, or that Tae Jun would go to the States with her. If that had actually happen, the ending would be just too expected. However! Alex went to the States and came back after some time. The scene where these two showed their couple rings killed me! It was sooooo cute, yet not cringy.

The actors did a great job, especially for their first ever drama, and I would love to see them in another series. I am not sure if I would watch it again, but ofc it depends on the person.

Not a FUSE but this wasn't all bad (slight spoiler)

As you can see, I gave this title a 5.5/10. It wasn't all bad but it wasn't good as well. To be honest, I was going to give it a 5 but the fact that they raised my expectations earned the half point.

The story was fine. For a mini-drama, the introduction to the characters were sufficient. Episode 1 was actually the best of the all the episodes. However the ending just made it seem rushed. It's almost like they had no more time or budget to film so they just cut the plot off and tried to wrap things up as quickly as possible. The plot was also hella predictable, and I felt like some of the characters were just unnecessary to the plot. Also this drama went by so fast that even when the drama ended, I still didn't know the names of the characters other than Alex. Found on Youtube (https://youtu.be/y4CEhUeEEgw), the intros and outros of the videos were honestly WAY too long.

The characters were cute, but the acting was less than mediocre. Then again, I don't expect much to come from idol acting. I came to support this webdrama after I heard that ONF were acting altogether, which is hard to find as idols usually act solo, even though I am not a FUSE. I really liked Seung Hyun and his personality, but the drama had to set Alex up with another guy.

Overall, I would NOT recommend unless you are up for a quick hour binge.

Truly exceptional for an Idol webdrama!

I really enjoyed it.

The story was fun and well executed, the acting was fantastic (especially taking into consideration that basically 90% of the cast were idols and not actors) and it was nicely filmed and edited (which is not something you can typically take for granted).

Even if, like me, you don't follow or aren't very familiar with ONF, this is still a mini drama worth watching. I feel like the screen time was shared equally between everyone, and each of the guys got their own little plots. Personally, I liked Sang Hae the best. His annoying, over the top, dramatic antics were a lot of fun to watch. But Seung Hyun was a close second. He was a little ball of fluffy niceness. So sweet!

This one is available on the INSSAOPPA G YouTube channel, just keep in mind that even though it's the official place to watch it, the English subtitles still kinda suck.

Quick watch

I found this series to be so cute.
After having watched heavy series with hourlong episodes I saw a recommendation of this web series on Tik tok and decided to give it a shot, I don’t regret it.

I ended up finishing it in a night.
I have to praise the actors on the chemistry as well as their acting ability. It wasn’t cringy, which it can sometimes be when it comes to idol actors. Although I’m not really a fan of love triangles (it was in the tags so I’m not gonna mark this as a spoiler) I didn’t find this unbearable to watch.
I recommend however I wouldn’t rewatch it since it’s just not the same as watching it for the first time.

Relaxing and Hilarious

This program is so simple and yet so high quality in it's plot, execution, music and story. The cast all have great chemistry and all have very interesting character personalities. An interesting and yet relatable plot revolving around the struggles of living with someone new and dealing with the positive and negative aspects of that. A refreshing and calm watch, perfect way to start a day or to end a day.

There was a lot of care put into the program, it feels like it was taken seriously which shows in it's production. Nice lighting and clean visuals that just make the viewer feel at ease and in the home with the characters.

There is also a bit of mystery strung into the romantic comedy, which makes each episode release a gift.

This web drama is a gift, not only to fans of ONF (aka "FUSE"), but to those who are looking to discover something fun to watch and rewatch.

Web drama with protagonists kpop group

I watch it because of ONF (kpop group)
◇I can say that i really enjoyed it and i laughed a lot
◇I know that the budget wasn't to much but for me the manage pretty good to tell the story
◇The story was simple and understood
◇The played their roles very good and it's impressive because its their first time if I'm not wrong
◇Something that i didn't like is that about the story,
which includes triangle, and i am not really a fan ,of this kind.
Anyway i can say that :
◇I was really happy that the gave them the chance to try something new/different and
◇I reccomaded because its something fresh and light :)

Drama de idol que tem a funcão de te fazer sorrir e derreter

Ai, meu coração multifandom que é apaixonado por Exo Next Door e Soul Plate se apaixonou pelo conceito de Can I Step In, obviamente.

Personagens:

Alex: Garota independente, livre de tabus, rainha, maravilhosa. Ela não entende toda a problematização dos meninos em não gostarem da ideia de morar com ela e, mesmo que ache alguns dos hábitos deles meio horríveis, acaba se adequando rapidamente à (falta de) rotina dessa nova vida. Personagem bem resolvida que não fica de mimimi nem é (tão) frescurenta como a maioria das protagonistas;

Taejun: Personagem do E-Tion. Conceito cara fechada, emburrado e exigente. É grosso e não sabe lidar muito bem com os sentimentos das pessoas, mas se vê tentando entender como ser mais gentil com a Alex depois que eles se aproximam um pouco;

Seunghyun: Personagem do Hyojin. Oppa next door, gentil e atencioso, sorridente e apaixonante. Tem um interesse especial na Alex desde o início, mas tem aquele tipo de personalidade que se deslumbra muito facilmente com a ideia de estar perto de quem gosta, então acaba não tendo coragem de se confessar;

Baekho: Personagem do Wyatt. Estranhamente não é o protagonista? Baekho é o dono da casa e tem a personalidade relaxada, descontraída e meio desbocada. Ele pode ser meio irritadinho, mas tem bom coração. Morre de medo da mãe mas fica se pagando de gostosão haha;

Sanghae: Personagem do J-US. É o artista excêntrico descontrolado. Tem a personalidade bem estranha e fala umas coisas esquisitas, a entonação da sua voz é quase cômica, digna de personagem de cartoon. É ele que acaba instigando o casal principal a se olhar de forma diferente pela primeira vez;

Inguk: Personagem do MK. É o maknae entre eles. Personalidade refrescante, sorridente, todo amorzinho. Se aproxima facilmente da Alex e até pede uns conselhos amorosos. Também acaba ajudando no desenrolar romântico da história;

Jihu: Personagem do U. É o vizinho esquisito que assusta a Alex várias vezes. No início todos tem medo dele, mas depois que eles se conhecem o clima se ameniza. Mas ele tem um segredo bem inesperado...;
