A Cute Drama That Can Easily Be Missed From The First Several Episodes

Let me start off by saying that this is not one of those dramas that will lure you in with the beginning episodes. Other than being funny for a lot of the beginning episodes, it can be pretty confusing as well, as you don't really have a sense of where this drama is going until you reached a certain episode.

That being said, let me state a couple of things and you can decide if you want to watch it.
* If you mostly just care about the romance and the other stuff doesn't matter for you, then I think this drama could be for you.
* This is a FANTASY drama. So, throw out all of the comparison relating to real life.
* Plot mostly revolves around the novel world so nothing will make sense.
* If you can make it to Episode 8, that's when the drama gets really good and where you'll start to understand what's going on. I think the reason for the low rating is some viewers dropped this drama somewhere within the first 7 episodes.
* Most importantly, it's a happy ending

Story: While there is an overall goal for our lead characters, because it focuses mostly on the plot of the novel world, it can be pretty random. There's really no set direction when it comes to the novel world's plot so that's why for story it only gets 3 stars from me.

The cast: The characters of the main leads were good enough for me, however it felt more like the FL's character is not so smart while the ML's character is the brains in all of this. He always seems to be one step ahead. Great second leads as they are not annoying and have their own love interest with each other and good side character friendships and assistants.

Not much music here other than the ending credit ost being played a lot but I do like that song though. A potential rewatch for me but probably starting it from Episode 8 instead of the beginning.

Overall, another good drama to watch to pass time. Not too short or long episode length wise. It may not be an amazing or standout drama, but I still liked it. Ending was great and nothing felt rushed. I'm satisfied with this drama.

Unexpectedly funny and fun to watch

Started without much expectations, plot is simple to follow and the interaction between Main leads is cute and funny.
Recommended to watch if you like villain turns main character kind of plot.

ML alone makes this worth watching!

I would have given this drama full stars if I had liked the FL better. I’m just not a fan of the ‘cutesy’ type of character, and her portrayal of the novel character was really annoying since pouting and baby talk took center stage. Why do Chinese guys like this type of girl? Do they have a secret desire to date babies? Anyway, I’m not saying the actress was bad – she wasn’t, she did a good job switching personality types – I’m just saying I prefer her sister’s type character – quietly intelligent and reserved in nature. FL was clever, but I just hated the ‘cutesy’ thing. I preferred her in real life rather than in the novel. Also, I hated how the costume designer dressed her in the novel world. What is she? A twelve year old? Do adult women actually wear big bows in their hair? If her novel husband, Feng Muchen, was the designer of her clothes, no wonder he went bankrupt! And don’t get me started on his wardrobe! Before his character was ‘taken over’ by the boyfriend, he dressed like a Korean gangster with patterned shirts and gold chains. Thanks goodness, ‘real world’ Feng Muchen ditched the gold chains!

Now, to the #1 reason I kept watching this drama – ML. He is the best boyfriend ever! And this actor did an excellent job showing a wide range of emotion and facial expressions. You could feel his desperation. I’ve liked him since I first saw him on ‘Professional Single’, and he’ll always be known as Song Si Yi in my mind. Like I said, he is the best boyfriend a girl could want. He risked his life to join her in this novel and bring her back to the real world. He was always devoted, always true and always...well...wonderful! I like how he was in love with her personality, not her appearance since he almost immediately realizes that the novel character is back and FL has departed to somewhere unknown. Even though the novel character tries to act ‘cutesy’, he knows it’s not his girlfriend and makes excuses to avoid her. What a guy! He's the best! I loved him, and main reason I tolerated FL’s character was because of him. Oh, and BTW, he's a hot kisser too! Finally, kisses that look like passionate kisses in an Asian drama. Sometimes we get those from the second couple, but it's rare for the main couple. And it was all him, he put all the effort in those hot kisses.

As for the plot, it actually wasn’t bad. Yes, there was some silliness, but I was surprised at how well the plot held together. The logic held together too. Usually, in these fantasy plots, I don’t like how it ends because FL has to leave fantasy ML behind in the book or game, and then, hopefully - but not always - she meets a ‘real life’ version of him. In this plot, both ML & FL are real people who knew each other prior to entrance into fantasyland so nobody’s going to be left behind (although ML briefly and accidentally gets left behind and ends up in another novel! That was cute!). It was reasonable that ML would follow FL into this virtual world, and it was reasonable how they got out of it. Ok, yeah, it's definitely fantasy, medicine hasn't advanced this far, but I didn’t have any unanswered questions at the end or any ‘but that doesn’t make sense’ feelings. All the main characters in the novel correspond with real people…even the two guy secretaries (look for a really cute twist at the end on these two!). It's sort of like the Wizard of Oz how Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and Wizard were people that Dorothy knew prior to her 'dream'.

If you can tolerate FL’s personality, it’s definitely worth the watching, and even if you’re like me and can’t stand the ‘cutesy’ type, it’s still worth watching because of ML. I wish every boyfriend could be like this guy!

Other drama was wayyy better

There are lots more interesting fantasy drama where the FL got into comic or scripts they write WAYYY BETTER THAN THIS DRAMA. I can say this cause i have watched all drama in Iqiyi and Wetv. Or Maybe cause Romance between tiger and rose are my benchmark for all this drama with similar plot. Or at least NIGHT OF LOVE WITH YOU is better. Same plot but not cringey and the FL stay villain when she got into comic.

Overall this drama is cute and okay. But lots of scene are cringey. And i hate FL lead. Her voice are annoying and she tried so hard to look and act cute that it looks fake. And she is soo stupid that it is hard to watch too. ML are quite a good actor. He shows lots of emotion as well despite sometimes act stupid. And i think the character are developing good too. My favourite character is the sister, WanPing WanQing whatever the name was. She was quiet, smart, cool and sassy at time. I super loved her acting and she was prettier than ML too.
Overall, would I rewatch this ? Absolutely no. This drama is stupidly annoying. And the title said My Life as Villain Character or Ms Ye in Wonderland. Finish watching it i still can’t figure out which part she became a villain or act like it 💁🏻‍♀️

AND THEIR COSTUME ARE TACKY AND NOT SUITABLE FOR THE CHARACTERS AT ALL !!

Out of this world.

The concept of this drama is already out of this world. So to be able to enjoy it thoroughly, logic should be thrown out.

This was an enjoyable drama nonetheless. Though it had some issues in it that are sensitive and should've been reviewed before published (ie. drugging, miscarriage, attempted sexual harassement, attempted murder, and kidnapping).

Character growth in this series is also very confusing. While some characters are already written pretty nicely (second female lead / stepsister), the female lead's character seemed lacking. Her character attitude and personality just seemed totally unstable. How she was written amongst all other things disrupted the flow of the story- which became another downfall of this drama. Maybe if the story focused less on some of the diabolical schemes and more on the story cohesiveness, even if this was an out of the world series, it would've been a more put together.

Some people's cringe is fun for others

I read the reviews before I started watching the drama, the first episode seemed fine to me, but the second episode onwards it was very cringey. There's no story. Its just sloppily put together moments. They have taken a concept and decided to do whatever they want with it.

The actor portraying the ML is handsome but his clothing makes him look like a cheap rent-a-cop. His stylist in this drama failed so bad. In the latter episodes he did seem to have some good suits but that's about it.

The plot is not coherent enough for me to sit through more than 10 episodes. As I was watching it, I kept thinking that things would get better now but no, it just was never interesting. The lead couple had chemistry that was not properly utilised by the story.
