Jimmy Wang Wu plays 3 different characters in 3 different epochs. Episode 1: THE STRANGER (modern setting): A woman escapes from the brutal boss of the night club she sings in. Episode 2: THE PRODIGAL SON (China late '800) Wang Yu lives as an hermit after he caused the death of his wealthy parents, that's why he buried the cursed family treasure. His sister brings some food to him but he refuses to go back to a normal life and stays for atonement. A group of tartar outlaws arrives at the place in order to steal the family treasure killing his sister and sending the hermit on a trail of revenge. Episode 3: THE REVENGER (China around 1930) Wang Yu is an ex-conman back with a vengeance against his brother, who stole the money and Yu's woman.
