It surprised me how much I enjoyed it
This drama is full of cliches and corny moments but it didn't made me cringe at all. What makes this drama so different is that it doesn't take itself too seriously and Sejeong's acting is amazing. The cast make it very enjoyable and fun and the script is definitely better than most of the dramas in this genre. I'm not a fan of the fake dating trope but the way it was developed it was very fun and dynamic. This doesn't only apply to the main couple but the second one too, I enjoyed watching them both. Kim Minkyu really impressed me and I can't wait until he gets a male lead role. Something I found lacking was the OST situation but its not that big of a turn off. I'm happy I started this drama and I'll definitely rewatch it in the future. Was this review helpful to you?

Lighthearted, comedic, rushed?
While the ending is rushed (side storylines deserved better resolutions), most of the season has decent pacing. Many romantic cliches are turned into awkward moments/jokes and they go all in with over-acting, editing and sound effects to play up the comedy. (As a heads up there is A LOT of second hand embarrassment, it is their main comedy device.)Most of the actors are selling it. The friendships are definitely one of its strengths & the family and workspace dynamics are usually fairly entertaining.
--- spoilers below ---
My list of highlights would be:
* Young Seo and Shin Hari's friendship! It feels most solid and fleshed out – they genuinely feel like close friends. They bicker, they are supportive whenever they need it & call each other out without reservations.
* Young Seo's acting overall is just so fun to watch.
* Shin Hari's appearance & acting actually changes with her roles.
* The work team dynamic is mostly entertaining and has a few touching moments.
* Shin Hari & Tae-moo have a few very lovely bonding moments.
* The second love interest wasn't really a doable love interest at any point. They part ways on good terms.
* The guys are mostly respectful when it matters the most?
* The editing and sound effects are great.
But some things were really dragging it down, too:
* Most characters are exactly the same in the beginning and at the end.
* Too many characters only exist for comedic purposes, but are used in serious plots. (Like Young Seo's cousin ruining her meeting with Sung Hoon's parent figure.)
* Most plots don't actually have consequences. For example, no one ever did anything after Shin Hari's defamation. She was supposed to be forced to resign/move away, she said no, and the editing specifically hid the response to that. Then they move on as if it never happened.
* I also really, really hoped for defamation lawsuit. When your entire career and reputation is ruined after the same person broke your friend's heart, you don't just shrug it off. On that note–
* The show's morals are very confusing and inconsistent. Min-woo thought his friend is in an abusive relationship and punched the assumed abuser, then got scolded. He found out he got cheated on & got scolded for being upset about it. I have no idea what moral stance the show was trying to take there??
* Or like when Young Sae's cousin does almost the same thing she did (pine after Sung Hoon that rejects her and make scenes about it), but it's framed as pathetic instead of funny/romantic.
* Young Seo mentions being in heavy debt, but that's just one-off comment again.
* The families never meet. Shin Hari's parents could get along with Tae-moo's grandpa, but they are never even in the same room. The show completely forgot Tae-moo's grandpa complains about living alone and having meals alone. Extended family dinners when?
* Hitting people is still supposed to be funny when it's the mother doing it.
* Last few episodes have very confusing flashbacks.
* Tae-moo doesn't appear traumatized from having a car accident when rushing over to Shin Hari, even though the theme of the episode is dealing with his trauma from his parents' car accident. It's just not even addressed.
* Last minute sickness for drama, yet easily curable off-screen. Come on.
* Forced separation/time skip. Really thought we avoided that one, but no.
* We never even learn what Young Seo's new business plan is?
I'll stop here as the review is getting too long, but yeah, tl;dr don't think about the plot too much and then it can be fun!

the acting was top tier;the drama was top tier;
the storyline muah.
if you're looking for a light k drama to brighten up your day or give you a dose of serotonin, this is your pill <33
the chemistry between the actors on and off screen is so adorable, it literally gives you a sense of comfort
beware though...
this drama is definitely going to raise not only your standards for relationships but friendships too!!
both the lead and second lead couple had so many cute moments , it will literally have you curling your toes and screaming in your pillow hehe

A pure shot of dopamine
Suuuper cute and fun in the beginning but sadly fizzled out by the end. Full of tropes and cliches, but self-aware and doesn't take itself too seriously, the show is an absolute delight in the first 5-6 episodes. I literally almost squealed and laughed out loud on PUBLIC TRANSPORT multiple times while binging this. It's like a pure dose of joy and sunshine. The second main pair grew on me sooo much and I felt more invested in them than in the lead couple. Young-seo and Sung-ho are just ??? so precious ???
Sad that the second half of the drama became like a conventional kdrama (just like Extraordinary Attorney Woo), losing much of the liveliness and character of the first half.

Not the typical office romance
Conventional office romance plot yet crazy good. Timed comedy and nothing overdone. Hats off to the actors, their extraordinary performances made this simple story both interesting and amusing to watch and come back every week. What made it stand out was the absence of typicality as most predicted (*obviously who didn't read the webtoon, like me) and eliminating dreamy stuffs. It actually questioned those to infuse more comedy.
Give a listen to the OST's 'Sun Shower' by MOVNING. Great song, especially the retro vibes in the music and the calmness in his voice.

a refreshing take on old tropes
are you tired of the old cliche of rich man poor woman and its sexist overtones? me fucking too.hence my reluctance to start another CEO x bubbly employee drama. is it trope-y? yes, but it handles these tropes with respect for the characters that ifound refreshing and fun. the most obvious case is the FL, who instead of being a pathetic dormat clinging to her boss personally and professionally, is a charismatic, hard-working, unapologetically sexy woman. she's built a strong frienship with the second lead and has a stable family unit. in other words, a whole world before ML even enters the picture. add to this that Sojeong is INSANELY talented. you have a recipe for cute rimance that you can rewatch guit free
the negatives:
-the 2nd couple kiss while being black out drunk. she was too inebriated to give consent. stop this shit
-no representation. yeah i know it's a kdrama but it's a negative in any medium
-some moments were dragged out way beyond the comedy
-mildly possesive and entitled male lead.
-the actor can't act. sorry. he is going to ruin another season of Dr Romantic
-not enough 2nd couple, i needed a lot more, they were cute and mature and sexy
positives:
everything else!

... boring
the first two episodes were good. this drama, as many, is full of cliches but it seemed nevertheless enjoyable. the male protagonist is the "cool cold hearted business guy" but he drops the act right at the end of the second episode. by the third one he was already in love. his behaviors are shown to be "romantic" but If you take away the romantic music, they appear to be controlling and frankly "stalking" like.the main protagonist was endearing.
the should have explored more the "business side" of the deal, but as I said, they were already in love after 3 episodes. a missed opportunity.
as many Korean drama they drag it a bit too long and put a lot of plot "twist" at the very end.
overall it is an enjoyable Rom com but nothing to write home about.

idk
It was a great show BUT IT TOOK THEM 9 EPs TO GET TOGETHER LIKE WTHH but the story line was amazing. I wasn't a big fan of music, but the storyline, the acting casting, everything—it was fabulous. I watched this 3–4 times. Highly recommended! If you are into romantic dramaslittle to no intercourse (which is good!)scenes, but the second couple had it twice.

It was an adaptation only until the last few episodes, then it became screenwriter's ego.
While this is a great drama I can't rate this higher that 8.0. My main problem is deviation from source material.Story, Acting, Cinematography, OST everything is perfect and delivers to the genre beautifully. The problem arises in the last few episodes where the writers decided to deviate from original webtoon story and forcefully push some kdrama tropes into narrative which neither were fun to watch not did they fit with characterization established earlier.
1. There was no long separation trope in original webtoon, that was a kdrama only screenwriter fantasy,
2. There was no rich family poor family drama created by grandfather in original webtoon, that was again a kdrama only screenwriter fantasy. He was, on the contrary, the most ardent supporter of their relationship in webtoon.
Thankfully overall story and ending, though adulterated, is still quite good. However, I can't excuse the fact that a portion of source material was changed into something formulaic due to unknown reasons.
When screenwriters deviate from original writer's works it feels like a disrespect towards the original source material. Its understandable the need for deviation when the source material has problems in it but when the source material is a hit in itself, its a just sad attempt by the screenwriters to establish that they know better which they definitely don't.
That's my problem and that's why I rate this kdrama which could easily have a been a 9/10 only 8/10.

Differently good from the webtoon
Having read the webtoon before the drama was released I had my own expectations, some were met and some not. But I wasn't disappointed by those that weren't met as they put other elements that weren't there in the webtoon. This is a classic rom-com kdrama. If you're not a fan of the genre it's totally okay and you'll probably not be a fan of all the clichés in it.
I however like clichés and I like it even more when the comedy is based on those clichés. The characters as well as the viewers know that some things don't make sense and aren't meant to be taken seriously. Your reaction to a lot of the clichés will be to laugh at how ridiculous they sound/appear.
That's also the beauty of this drama, it's light-hearted, funny and sweet. It's easy to tell this is a rom-com as it's full of unrealistic situations. It's an easy watch if you like the genre.

Repetitive but nice Same clichés with same predictive situations
But inspite of that you re going to enjoy
I didn't enjoy Ahn seop acting much
First time to watch him
I felt his face expression didn't fit the role well
And his acting was weak
In the contrary the 2nd ML and both FL's were strong in their acting
I liked Kim Min Gue soooo much
He was very cute and capable
I was interested more in second main leads
The story was incomplete in my opinion
They cut it suddenly with stupid time jump
And the end was too rush
For the first time I had to say a drama needs more episodes
It should be 14
Even when they made that stupid time jump they didn't explain much
they came cross headlines to end the story soon as much as they can
In my opinion
The bed scene for main leads wasn't in it's place at all
It was light and nice

A deja vu drama but nice to watch
I was excited to see this amazing casting together, their acting skills are really incredible you will love their characters ! But for the story i just feel like it's a mix&match between Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and The secret life of my secretary. Also the clichés of the rich families who don't want the poor girl to marry the rich boy is tiring, I hope one day we will have a drama where the rich boy's family won't be bad with poor people. And I was a bit disappointed with the ending, I expected more than that.Anyway it's still a good little drama to watch, the couples relationship are both really cute.
