Definitely not a 10

This series is definitely not the worst series I've ever had the misfortune of watching (cough, tharntype s1, cough), but although it was pretty good in the beginning, it quickly got a bit .. boring. I enjoyed the plot at the start, I liked how they presented it and how Kuea's feelings were presented. I felt like I understood him in a way. I liked Lian as well, but he was honestly an asshole most of the time. I understood the plot, but honestly, I couldn't even get through the last episode. I skimmed most of the last episodes to be completely honest. I mostly kept watching for Yi and Diao as well as Syn and Nuer rather than Kuea and Lian. It was the same thing each episode for Kuea and Lian, just constant lying even until the final episode. They brushed over their problems a lot, and nothing truly got resolved. Not much communication. It was unsatisfying, really. It just kept getting worse as the episodes furthered towards the end. They had their cute moments like the side couples, but overall their romance was a bit lackluster to me. I have to give them a huge plus for the music though, I absolutely adored the music in the series. NuNew seriously has a gorgeous voice, he did amazing with his singing for the series. I never skipped his singing moments and I still go back to watch him sing Change. I also really adored the cast, MaxNat have amazing chemistry (they're my favorite honestly) as well as ZeeNew and TutorYim. Their chemistry outside of the series is adorable and MaxNat's vlogs together are so sweet.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this series but I'd definitely recommend listening to NuNew's music and watching other series that these actors are in instead.

i have no idea what that was all about

I'm a big fan of the arranged marriage trope but this is just not it. It took me by surprise, but I wasn't mad (at the beginning).

The thing is you can't expect people to keep watching the same scenes for 12 whole episodes.

I became a big fan of the cast after this, not gonna lie. I already knew Zee and I think he, like always, delivered everything with this character. Nunew was a great surprise, along with the actors that play Nuer and Syn. The other couple tho I couldn't stand to watch their scenes together... Their story was so messy (like everything else honestly) and I just felt no chemistry between them :/

About the plot (can we even call it that way?) I don't think there's much left to say really, since everyone else already said it, but one thing that actually bothered me was the fact that they were trying so hard to go like Slayy Go gays!! i mean that final scene with the outdoor????? was that really necessary lmao I think there were better ways of conveying the message.

Finally, like someone already said it, this whole miscommunication plot only works in the end if both parts talk it out and have a change of behavior... I feel like they kept talking all the time but couldn't solve sh*t. like yeah hia lian accepted kuea the way he was but he already knew about everything from the beginning so how does that change anything? and the whole thing with his family going bankrupt ???? that was really just put there to fill some holes and give kuea and lian more reason to argue.

anyway not gonna extend this any longer i'll probably watch season 2 bc of the actors now that i know i can't expect much plot-wise!

ONE OF THE MOST UNFAIRLY HATED BUT ACTUALLY AWESOME DRAMAS!!

U can clearly see the reviews r freaking contradictory. While some have rated 10/10, some have 1/10... On every other platforms this series is so loved and appreciated but only on mdl it is.........(for some ppl). This is one of the dramas proved that u shouldn't keep the whole trust on mdl reviews.

How good is this series?
∘Couple chemistry n their visuals are outstanding. Yes, outstanding.
∘The eye-catching cinematography, aesthetics are top notch. Quality bls are rare yk.
∘All of the OSTs are simply amazing. They r meaningful and had been used appropriately. All of them are sung by main actors.
∘The best NC scenes I've ever seen in bls. So realistic, sensual and consent was there. It looked like making love, not just having sex!
∘The way they actually support lgbtq community is noteworthy. Thumbs up for cutie pie.
∘One of the most beautiful endings of series.

Plot:
There's a lack of plot development cos a big (heavy) storyline wasn't there. But it's totally worth watching. Lack of confidence and insecurities between the couples has become the major problem in their relationship cos they wanted to be a perfect partner for each other rather than being real. The show didn't justify their wrongdoing. It portrays how they suffer with those issues n how they overcome it. If both characters were 100% perfect and rosy, that should be the fake, unrealistic one. We see Kuea and Lian are learning about each other, showing importance of respecting the differences and accepting themselves. That is what true love does. It gives us courage and breaks our own insecurities making ourselves feel valued.

There's no need to hate anything just bc others do so. Pls... u may miss ur fav comfort show. A series is a combination of plot, actors, couple chemistry, cinematography, atmosphere, music... So clearly this is 100% worth watching series. YOU MUST TRY IT URSELF AND DECIDE...fingers crossed.

Love Is A Human Right...

Overall I recommend this series 100% so don't read on if you don't want to be spoiled.

First I'll start with the negatives since there isn't many. The negative for me was Yi and his guilt for an accident that happened when he and Diao were kids and how it dragged on for so long without communicating. Once it was I guess revealed, I felt underwhelmed by it and confused on how it would cause such a side effect, though it has never happened to me so I guess it's possible, but that just left me feeling like "Eh they're cute I guess" in the end. These characters did work better for MaxNat for me to like their chemistry as a couple but idk I just got very annoyed with Yi.

Onto the positive. I love how the series addressed the Marriage Equality issue, especially with Thailand being one of the many country that still doesn't have Marriage Equality in their country, regardless of the community of LGBTQ+ that lives there and the BLs/GLs they produce. Kuea and Lian talking about how they want to get married but society doesn't allow them to, it was nice to see.

Zee and Nunew's chemistry is chef's kiss amazing. They constantly gave me butterflies and put a smile on my face. They also made me shed so many tears, when they cry it's heartbreakingly real and I love that. Though I was prepared for Zee to hurt me emotionally cause he's good at it. I was pleasantly surprised with Nunew. Not only Nunew's chemistry with Zee but with the whole cast honestly, most importantly Nat as Kuea's bestfriend, Diao. The friendship those shared made me bawl my eyes out at the sweetness and caring way they were always there for eachother. Bestie goals honestly. On another set of besties that had great chemistry were Lian and Yi played by Zee and Max, they weren't as loud about their affection towards eachother as Kuea and Diao but you could tell that they cared for eachother as best friends and business partners.

Speaking of business partners; Jay ♡ That's all I gotta say. Also loved the comedic relief that was Foeii.

Though they got minimal screen time, Syn and Nuer grabbed my heart and held on tight to the end so props to Tutor and Yim.

Music was 10/10 Nunew and his voice melts my soul. The Ost is super catchy, love it.

For the story the only irritating parts were the secrets and the underwhelming reveal but other than that; I liked the arranged marriage concept.

Brainless Drama, had great potential but they just spoiled it

The base story is great but it wasn't supported at all by the illogical slow-paced script and childish direction.
The start of the series was too dramatic and whatever character buildup was done in the 1st episode it wasn't supported at all by the remaining episodes.
The character's personality changed in every single episode.
Both the acting and the makeup (the presentation) of Kuea's character is too childish. His acting is good except for every scene in which he cries.
Direction is bad and you can easily tell that. For Eg. in the scene where Kuea is crying at his grandpa's death and Dian comes, Kuea keeps sitting on the chair after Dian offered him a handkerchief to wipe the tears, it would have been presented better if, at the time, he would have hugged Dian.
The series went from good, to bad to worse to good and to average. Nothing was consistent in the series.
To be frank, I liked the acting of most actors in the series, but what went wrong was the acting didn't properly match with the base story and their character and I blame the direction for it.

What I didn't like
* Script is too childish and illogical. For eg. why would the competitors be VIPs at Jay's pub.
* Slow paced. The duration between dialogues in serious scenes is just too much.
* Most of the series felt like it revolves around 2 men playing with their significant others.
* We are besties was spoken more than the times Kuea cried, which is a lot. Are they children???
* Multiple scenes/sub-stories are introduced in the script just to support 1 scene, even when the whole script doesn't matches
with the scene at all
* There is no character build-up, the character's personality changes every episode.
* Backstory provided for the secondary couple is incomplete and less focused.

Another illogical scene:
Ep 5, how couldn't Kuea hear the same music running in the background of Dian that was running in the back of Jay's

Gratuitous pretty kisses can't save bad acting and weak story writing

As great as the kisses were, the acting and the storyline are baddddd.

The acting is borderline cringe. Not a single strong actor IMO (from any of the actors playing romantic pairings. Some actors, like Perth and a few others, were fine in their roles). I felt a lot of 2nd hand embarrassment watching the main and secondary actors flirting. After just coming off the Not Me series and being caught up with KinnPorsche, where incredible, structured storylines and strong acting are seen in spades, the disconnect with Cutie Pie is much more glaring.
The BL game is stepping up to astronomical heights, and this just ain't it. The acting reminded me of how cringy TharnType was. Mew and Gulf were beyond cringe in their facial expressions and intonations toward each other; I don't know how anyone could muster through it, let alone their overly problematic sex scenes. Consent, anyone?

The audience is smart - While it may be fun to watch, gratuitous sex scenes/skinship isn't enough to save a series from terrible writing and poor, over-the-top acting. Pass on this series and go turn on KinnPorsche, Not Me, or Bad Buddy instead.

This show is another level of Thai BL!

After we get used to know about teenage romance in school, college, or even an office world, this time we are introduced to a new level of BL, engagement!! I couldn't even understand how the idea of a story like this could come up, I don't think this is possible in many countries in every part of the world. But Thailand once again proves that "No matter what gender you are, love is always beautiful".

Besides the same-sex engagement theme, this series is also filled with talented actors, some of them are know in the BL series previously, especially Zee. Honestly, this is Zee's best series so far, his performance seems to have an improvement compared to his two previous series (which I followed).

Another positive side brought up by this series is the friendship between Kuea and Diao. The combination of their acting by highlighting the strong side of their friendship, is deserves a thumbs up. Although the love story of Diao and Yi is full of mystery and seems forced, is one of the weaknesses of this series.

One thing that really bothers me is, Has Thailand really become this "open" over time? remembering the scene in episode 15 which I thought could be a big new conflict that happened, but in fact nothing happened in that event. Just curious tho.

A must watch !!!!!

Cutie pie !

The introduction to the characters and the beginning of the drama was new and I loved it it had be hooked as both having such different personalities how will it work especially all the secrets. As it went along I enjoyed it more more.

The cinematography is one for the books no doubt it has sent a standard for all future bl’s.

Every second of the show made me blush or squeal and even stress as to what will happen next, tho there was not much of a large plot in the drama it’ll keep you on your toes with excitement every episode.

The chemistry between Keua and Lian was the best part they played the characters so well. They both go so well together.

Overall the drama was amazing and I would recommend anyone to watch it.

BL series that really stole my attention

I don't even know where to start. Hehe?
Personally I really like this series. The cinematography is BEAUTIFUL? The players are really cool, the storyline is very interesting. will not be bored if this series is watched over and over again.
I admire Zee. I've been following him since Why R U? The acting didn't disappoint, and I'm very proud of NuNew. For a first time actor, he did a good job and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job too in terms of acting. The chemistry between the couple is also pretty good. Kuea and Kon-Diao are great friends, and really support each other, all of their Kuea school friends are cute and a lot of fun. Foei every time he appears I really enjoy the comedy he brings and he is a witness to the love of hia lian and nu-kuea Haha?
Hot kiss scenes are always fun to watch? MUSIC I will honestly say I don't know much about Thai music but this drama introduced me to so many great songs that I have listened to over and over again. Nunew's soft voice I love all of them. I can't believe it's all over I will miss this series so much and will watch it over and over again. Thank you to all the crew and cast who have worked hard for this series and thank you also to the writer of the cutie pie novel for making a story as cool as this that can make the reader or audience cry, this laugh is very entertaining. ???

One of the worst BLs out there

This was a complete trainwreck, I can't remember feeling so happy to be finished with a series. Here are my pros and cons:

PROS

FILMING. The series was indeed beautifully filmed.

HIA/DIAO SEX SCENES. Total soft porn. Hawt.

CONS

STORY. While I appreciated the families' acceptance and support of same-sex marriage, the idea of arranged marriage of any kind is so antiquated and frankly... gross. Besides that, there wasn't all that much to the story, and much of what was there made little to no sense.

KUEA. Was he ever NOT crying? Okay, that's an overstatement, but his constant whining (mostly about nothing) made me want to remove my own appendix with a knife and fork. He was too immature to be in a relationship of any kind. What Lian saw in him was beyond me.

THE THIRD COUPLE. They got a total of maybe three minutes of screen time for the entire series. Why were they even there?

I could go on, but I don't wanna.

It's a 3.5 from me.

Love Is Wanting To Take Care Of Him

An Absolutely Stunning Series. A BL with standards so high I have to wonder if anything will ever compare.

BUT WOW!! Look At the Reviews! You are either going to love this show or hate it! I have watched sooo many bl series and have a difficult time finding any to watch that I like everything about, so I am a bit perplexed on the negative comments. I think most people who leave negative comments on these types of shows are really drama watchers - and this is not a drama.

A Series that I will definitely watch more than once. I miss it already!

The vocals by NuNew were amazing. The songs were well written and fit exactly with the episodes, both Male Leads had really awesome voices! There is a song during one of the later episodes (steamy episode) was also really good.

The acting - were they acting? Every scene was so real, the main couple must really be in Love? There were three couples, the main couple had funny, sad, intense, emotional and sensual scenes, not a single misstep, every expression and gesture was perfect. None of the actors shied away from those steamy scenes - and while they are not R Rated, they are hot!

The second couple did an excellent job as well - one of these actors did a crying scene that was unbelievably sweet!

There was no expense spared for this series, lighting, settings, sound, directing - everything was perfect.

The storyline - Arranged Marriage? Definitely ok in a BL Series, and they did stress it was a verbal agreement. This story line seems to be what is drawing a lot of criticism, not real, ok? Two older men, both holding back and waiting for their chosen ones to grow up a little - and perhaps being overly protective in the meantime? I thought it was cute. The friendship between the two older guys was interesting too - a bit of tension there.

BL Quotes from the Series:

"I don’t’ care how other people define what our love is… Because my Love is real"

"Love is not just about getting married. It's about Human rights and Equality, it's what we all deserve" - Cutie Pie 2022

I cannot praise this series enough and I truly hope it gets the ratings and recognition it deserves!
