Wholesome indeed
It's just wholesome. They took the storyline, cast and the ost seriously I could tell. First three episodes only to focus on Eunhui and Hansu story, well, it's quiet draggy somehow. If someone telling you the show is boring and stuff. pls hang in there. Believe me you just gotta bear with first three episodes but the rest of it is just beautiful and well written. You won't regret it. It's just how omnibus kind of drama do the things. Although they could have start the drama with more engaging approach. The feeling right after you finished this drama, it's undescribeably wholesome. Yep, best drama so far in mid 2022.Was this review helpful to you?
Realistically written
Sometimes amidst the romcoms and thrillers, you want to watch something closer to the realities of life. Our Blues is one such drama.Jeju is the perfect setting for this drama. The easy, relaxing, laidback country life suits the stories of the characters living on the island. This drama was wonderfully written, not necessarily perfect, but gives you the warm feeling of home. Each character was given a fair moment to shine and the ensemble didn't fail to impress me with their performance.
I loved the story of Yeong Jun and the actress who portrayed her was such a revelation. She nailed the role for someone so young. Another story I loved was Yeong Hui's, because it showed real challenges a person could face when you have a family member with a disability. Lastly, Lee Byung Hun's story was given a touching closure in the last episode. It reminded me so much of my mama because due to work, I was never that close to her. It was just work, sleep, work, sleep for me. We never really got to have any meaniingful conversation. When she fell ill, I didn't hesitate to leave my job to take care of her. I will forever be grateful to have had the chance to bond with her in the end.
If you want to watch something that is more realistic, a slice of life type of drama, this one is for you

A beautifully anthology
Hometown Cha Cha Cha was one of last year’s best K-Dramas depicting the trials and tribulations of a small village and its inhabitants, and Our Blues does the similar kind of thing this year. Our Blues is a 20 episode K-drama that essentially works as an anthological slice of life series. The different episodes are broken up into different two or three parters, following residents on Jeju Island as they go about their day. There are a fair amount of people living on this island, and the 20 episodes certainly help to give this show enough time to introduce everyone and tell their stories.
Aesthetically, Our Blues is just as impressive and part of that comes down to the beauty of Jeju Island. From breathtaking sunsets to sweeping establishing shots, this K-Drama makes the most of its lavish, paradisiac setting, and the series is all the stronger for it.
Although some of the narratives didn't quite hit the emotional highs as others, the bright spots outshone the shades of grey. This is a beautifully written Slice of Life drama, with good storytelling and show-stopping visuals.
My Rating : 8/10

The best Korean drama EVER
This is my most favorite Korean drama ever. Every family's story, the community, the sea, everything is perfect. Every actor gave their best and they were totally like their character throughout the whole drama. The last episode will make you cry a lot.Just sit back, relax and let this drama heal you.

Our Blues - review from England
This series is such a treat and I would recommend anyone to see. There is violence in some of the scenes but keep watching - it's necessary to understand where the characters have come from and where they are going. The script writing is unbelievably good and the stories and heartache through every episode are truly unique. Many of the topics would just not be touched on in the UK so it's a big well done from me.
And the huge cast is to be applauded for acting to such a high level through the series. From the smallest to the eldest. The storylines with Kim Hye Ja and Go Doo Shim were amazing and acted out with such sensitivity that I am lost for words.
Well done to all the crew, keep promoting this in the UK.

It gets better the more you watch it
I wasn't sure to continue watching this after the first two episodes. But I'm glad that I finished the series. It keeps getting better every episode. Because the first few episodes don't determined the whole series. Since the story is not revolving on one character, but almost every character in the series. Main roles would keeps changing around, sometimes the main role would become support role, or the support role would become the main later in the series. Which gives us much better understanding of the relationship between every character. The ending gives me a very satisfying feeling that made me glad that I watched the series. So if you are one of those people like me who wasn't sure to continue watching this after first few episodes, I strongly suggest you to continue the series, you'll thank me later. I can confidently say this is the best series I've watched this year.

The warmth Blue brought along with it has filled the heart.
I started it after watching shorts of hyeon and young ju and Jeong joon. But fall in love with Eun Hui, Dong seok, In kwon, ho sik and Eun ki. Min ra, Seon Ah is not a exception in this line up.The way this showed the reality and the beauty of the life which we see everyday life along with the practical difficulty that the life throws at every human in different ways with no exaggeration is so beautiful.
The fact that each frame make your heart long for more is the best justice the actors made to the story with the way they protrayed. You will laugh, you will cry, You will travel and you will make the character yours is the real success this drama got.
The struggles showed are real so is the way the characters handled it. The fact that they showed some real struggles of people from the other walks with an underlying social issues like teen pregnancy, social judgementals based on what one see on surface, the intolerance of the differences among people is something worth applauses. Especially in the portions of hyeon and young ju's storyline. The fact that they matured overtime while accepting and making the others accept them is awesome. And the maturity young ju's friends showed is awesome. And the bond of young sisters is something special.
Overall, The best one I saw in recent times.

The lives of people living in Jeju
It's the stories of people's lives. Mostly their struggles in life. It's about connections between people and growing up poor and struggling to make a living and relationships and families. There's a lot of sadness and illnesses and mental health issues. Things we all face.
But there's hope as well.
It's not a depressing show or anything like that. It's not one of those shows where it wallows in misery, pain, and depression. It shows people finding strength to overcome or live with such pain and move on with their lives. There's a realism to many of these stories and I definitely can relate to many of these stories myself.
The music reminds me of Il Postino.
The character that I most align with is Dong Seok. I can feel his anger and pain and what a terrible life he has lived. But with each story, there is hope and strength.
It's not a show that will have you crying every episode. Far from that. It shows many facets of human lives that each of us can relate to and shows what it is to be human.
I skipped several of the latter episodes centering on the kid.

To tell you the truth, I almost dropped this show somewhere in the beginning. I forgot which part but I did thought of that. BUT... I am so glad that I didn't. I'm glad that I finished the whole show and I have to say I really love it. This show just gave me warmth. It was about friendship, love, family, and most importantly... accepting yourself.
The casting and acting were phenomenal. It was really outstanding. Script, music, everything was on point. It made me feel happy, it made me cry, it made me feel love, anxious... to cut the long story short, it was an emotional rollercoaster (but in a good way 😊)
Honestly, am finding it hard to put my emotions into words since I just finished the show less than 5 minutes ago but I loved it. BRAVO!!!!
PS: It was really nice to see Woobin and Mina in one scene ehehehehe I consider those small moments a bonus for me 😍

kdrama all star
Plenty of life lessons
Our blues (2022) is a kdrama which shows he ups and downs of life and potrays multiple stories of people who live and work on the bustling Jeju island. It talks about different matters like family problems, teen pregnancy, depression, misunderstandings between people who were once the closest etc. It gives attention to topics that are not talked about in most kdramas. I love how we get to see in this kdrama that all people have problems in their lives whether big or small. Valuable life lessons for all groups of people can be learned through this masterpiece. I'm sure you'll relate to atleast one of the stories presented. I liked that they approached a new take in the kdrama world and I hope to see more kdramas like our blues in the future. The stories progressively get better. If you want to watch something real and beautiful that will take a turn on the way you see life then i would suggest you to watch this kdrama. Thanks for reading
Happy new year :)

A Very slow start
I don't write many reviews, let alone positive ones.I mostly write this because at first the show might seem confusing or frustrating.
The characters choices are poor. The stubbornness of others almost get annoying.
But don't give up on this early,
It gets so deep and really is , deep down, a really healing show.
You get attached and get to understand most characters and you end up only wanting to know more about more characters.
Also, you'll probably wanna go and visit Jeju.
