- relación a distancia

Glad i didn't skip this season!!
I read comments from here before watching the second season where everyone was saying they would not watch this season because he cheats or they didn't move on from woong. First of all i really loved watching this season glad i didn't skip this season becoz of those comments. I loved babi he was a perfect boyfriend trusted yumi knowing she is going to meet woong, didn't let her go while breaking up he did not keep his pride like woong instead he accepted his mistakes and apologized. I think there's no debate abt who is better woong or babi both were perfect except one thing for babi it was emotional cheating and for woong it was his pride and miscommunication. Woong never emotionally cheated on yumi and babi never let his pride break their relationship it's that simple it is useless to say I like woong becoz he AT LEAST never emotionally cheated on yumi this debate is really useless he didn't cheated on her but what abt the time yumi felt left out in her own relationship it can't be compared less painful than cheating. Anyways I really really loved both woong and babi so much they were just perfect except they also had their own flaws i would have liked to change that too but it isn't life if the things always goes the way you want it to be at the end they just teach us more and we have to let them go and move on! Just the hate on babi is so much without even understanding both woong and babi hurt yumi the same ofc with different reasons but the amount of pain was the same. I'm so happy that I can finally start the new and the last season. Was this review helpful to you?

Season 2: study in toxic relationships
Yumi's Cell Season 2 is mostly about YuMi-BaBi relationship and breakuip and it is so... toxic to watch!!!! bc there is no love there, only two adults using each other for attention AND LYING TO THEMSELVES ABOUT ITIt is toxic bc there is no real love there. YuMi "finds solace in BaBi's attention"...
YuMi is just an ordinary, flawed, ignorant person, with some skillZ for life. She uses reason and thinks through stuff, but she put her Inner Self away into the desert and does not trust it, and she locked up her Deep Inner Desires into a jail underground.
is YuMi selfish? Hm... with BaBi, yes.... "finding solace in his admiration" IS SELFISH :) she is just taking from him.
With Woong... ? it is a mutual game. YuMi consented to kiss his as# to get his LustyDinosaur, whatever that blue t-rex was called. With Woong, YuMi was overly giving. But out of selfish reasons, she wanted something from him... and her mistake was to TOTALLY neglect all red flags so that she could get that.
I dont love to hate this show. I just thought a lot about what I saw. it is ugly :( and I wasted 14 hours. I think there was a FASTER way to learn all that.
i think the Cells are genious way to show what is happening under the surface. I felt like a detective, that I was able to see the "dissection" of human behavior. So in that regard, 14 hrs spend on this is not totally wasted. I was practicing my detective skills and learning :)
I predicted totally how both season 1 and 2 would go and how they would end :) and by watching the CELLS PART of the dramas, I learned a lot too
=====
season 1 is about ONE guy Woong. but BaBi is lurking in the background posing as YuMi's friend while he is breaking with his reporter ex
Meanwhile Woong has a "second wife" an ex from the past that consistently and openly butts in to get him away from YuMi
finally Woong dumps YuMi and she accepts bc Woong went off the deep end with the bankruptcy of his company and did not say a word about it - Woong is a lame proud arrogant selfish he-man man-child AND a fun boy toy, and she keeps kissing his as# to keep the fun boy toy
season 2 is about BaBI taking over YuMi, genuinely loving her... and once in a blue moon, Woong trying to come back and bailing out fast every time.
But the whole thing is slimey as YuMi got with BaBi not out of love, but to use him as a happy pill and to have him treat her like a princess. So she essentially leeches off him. And as soon as she is far from him, he finds another chick who kisses HIS as# and genuinely loves him. And YuMi stops "loving him" as soon as it is clear he cannot be 100% perfectly serving her 100% of the time.
So the cells makes this interesting. The stories are about flawed ignorant unaware people, and the cells show how these people operate.
Season 2 is so cheesy cringe bc both Woong and BaBi stay single and loyal to Yumi FOREVER although she dumped them.
YuMi is like this worm that just chews through men, using them for s.x, attention, etc.
=====
Season 1 is interesting only bc of the Cells... bc it shows the typical hormone-driven relationships that fall apart, how immature people think, what operates them inside to create those stupid external behaviors - how mismatched immature ppl get together for the sake of s.x and fun and keep it going for a short while until the first problems.
Woong is an arrogant dude and he keeps his "second wife" bc she strokes his ego, and he stays around YuMi only while his ego is stroked and looking grand. So he and YuMi used each other, and YuMi was a lot more giving, in order to keep her fun boy toy.
Season 2 is a study in toxic relationships. YuMi does NOT love BaBi and she gets together with him for convenience, takes him as a happy pill, "loves" him when it is all perfect, and loses any interest as soon as he is less than perfect. He essentially cheated by emotionally attaching himself to another chick, who was kissing his as@ and who genuinely loved him from the start, which YuMi never did. YuMi and BaBi relationship was majorly slimey, and BaBi was a lot more giving. YuMi was there as long as she was THE PRINCESS, and BaBi had to keep kissing her as@ and taking care of her.
The key problem is that YuMi is totally oblivious to her Hunch Cell and her Deep Inner Cell and is fact scared of them, so she keeps operating out of limited / dumb Emotions, Reason, etc
Season 3 is about .... ? hopefully real love for who the people ARE and a real relationship where both give and take and LOVE equally.
But there could be 100000 seasons and NOTHING WILL WORK AS LONG AS THAT HUNCH CELL IS FEARED AND PUT TO LIVE ALONE IN THE DESERT, AND DEEP INNER CELL IS BURRIED IN AN UNDERGROUND PRISON
YuMi is an ordinary clueless ignorant person, living life on automatic pilot. The interesting part is the Cells, we get to see how that all works
====
Season 2 was so soap...
Adult men moping after their woman for YEARS AND DECADES and unwilling and unable to have new relationships - and one woman having at least 2 great guys like that forever dedicated to her - wow what a super disgusting lie soapy cringe trope that shows up on most if not all dramas. So those moping men just do not have s.x all their adult life, or for so many years and decades?
WOW WE FOUND WHY S KOREA HAS THE LOWEST BIRTH RATE IN THE WORLD - and why hostess bars and prostitution are so normal in Asia.
The reality was shown by both Woong and Ba Bi. Woong was keeping his "second wife" at work, and Ba Bi found "second wife" as soon as he moved away. And both those "second wives" had NO problem butting in to steal the man from his official girlfriend. On the other hand, men who were told the girl is taken, backed off immediately. THAT IS THE TYPICAL REALITY
====
Just watched Yumi's Cells season 1 bc of really great review on byrei.ink - indeed it is a great study on how immature ppl get together for fun and then quickly break up. THE CELLS ARE SOOOO EDUCATIONAL AND DEEP!!!! I rated that 10 bc of its uniqueness and insights. I just fast forwarded through the cringe parts showing the external behaviors of two really dumb immature ppl butting heads without any communication.
Season 1 was about puppy young love based on hormones.
Then I watched 14 episodes of Season 2. And I feel very upset after, because it was about two slimey adults. YuMi using BaBi as her happy pill, to have someone kiss her as# and take care of her ALL THE TIME like she was a princess, and YuMi lost any interest and bailed out as soon as the dude could not deliver that all the time. And BaBi - he needs someone to truly love him, and I guess he wants someone to kiss HIS as# too, so he essentially cheated by emotionally attaching to a chick like that - and probably would have proceeded to switch ships at one point, JUST LIKE he was switching ships and jumping on to YuMi while he was breaking up with his ex.
SO SEASON 2 IS A STUDY IN VERY SLIMEY TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS.
And then this cheesy idea of 2 guys being loyal forever to one woman who used them while it was fun and then dumped them... SO unreal soapy!!!!
There was real stuff... both guys had "second wives", women who openly catered to them and tried to take them away from the official girlfriend YuMi. That is soooo realistic.
YuMi's male suitors behaved in typical ways of real life and backed off as soon as she said she has a boyfriend.
Overall, YuMi is a very ignorant unaware person and also a coward in many ways because she keeps her Hunch away in the desert and is afraid to listen to him, and also DEep Inner Self is burried in an underground prison.
So Yumi's Cells can have 10000000000 episodes where YuMi keeps using men, chewing them up while they are useful to her and then spitting them out.
In Season 1, YuMi has to kiss as# of Woong, to keep her fun boy toy. He is a moody arrogant man-child and a great boy toy
In Season 2, BaBi has to kiss as# of YuMi and make her feel like a princess, or else she loses interest in him. She gets with him not out of love, but for health reasons, to be treated like a princess, and loses interest as soon as he cannot be that loyal doting SERVANT ALL THE TIME. BaBi sold his soul and then could not resist his need for someone who truly loves him and gives to him, so he essentially chated.
BaBi needs someone who gives to him as much as he gives. BaBi did not have a mother and his father is cement, so BaBi needs real love, to be the center of attention.
Yeah BaBi is slimey too... He jumps ships as soon as it is not productive for him to stay.... As soon as "his woman" is "away" - he starts jumping ships...
So Season 2 is just ... ugly toxic muck bc it is clear these ppl are adults adn SHOULD be thinking...
BASICALLY SEASON 2 SHOWS THAT NOTHING WAS LEARNED FROM SEASON 1
and season 3 looks like the same concept
Season 1 is cute bc it is "starter kit"
but Season 2 is infuriating bc there is no progress whatsoever
the story just repeats
And Season 3 looks the same repeat...
Yumi's Cells Season 2 is so nasty because THE DRAMA IS DEAD FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES. It is not about love and aliveness. It is about INTENTIONAL TOXICITY, nobody is trying to become a better person, YuMi just scoots along with BaBi pushing her forward, and BaBi thinks this is the best "love" he can find for himself and BaBi "buys" this love by always being perfect and doting on the princess so that she would bestow her "love" on him.
So yeah, I feel furious after watching Yumi's Cells Season 2. It is a "waste of time" drama unless you want to really analyze toxic relationships.
The Cells is the only thing that is useful and worth watching here, to learn how ppl are able to slide into toxic relationships and maintain them for a long time.
I thought about this a lot. Season 2 is mostly about YuMi - BaBi relationship and fallout. Yumi's Cell Season 2 is so... toxic to watch!!!! bc there is no love there, only two adults using each other for attention AND LYING TO THEMSELVES ABOUT IT
It is toxic bc there is no real love there.
BaBi has no mother and his father is cement, so BaBi tries to "buy love by being perfect. YuMi never loved him really, she just used him to serve her like she was a princess. So as soon as he found someone else to kiss his as@ and love him, as soon as he found a better "investment", he took it.
BaBi's sliminess is that he starts switching ships as soon as his current ship starts sinking. He chased YuMi while breaking up with his reporter ex, and then he got Jeju girl as soon as it was clear that she was kissing his as# and loving him... So much better than uMi who honestly was just cold to BaBi and just enjoyed his taking care of her.
BaBi needs to find someone who will truly love and cherish him as much as he does love and cherish her. BaBi has a great capacity to love but very low ability to RECEIVE - then he falls for the first person who shows him appreciation and love.
YuMi needs to grow up too and pair up with a man who is equal to her. Woong was so much more childish and was essentially a boy toy, and BaBi was like a father/servant/nurse/sugar daddy to her. Seems like YuMi is a rather shallow person who picks the first guy who will give her s.x and attention.

It started as a rom-com and finished as a melodrama.
I'm going to keep this review short because I feel like if you liked Yumi Cells 1 then you will like Yumi Cells 2 because it has the same tone and feeling, despite me thinking it was going to be different.I knew the ending of Yumi Cells 1 prior to watching the series so I knew that Yumi wouldn't end with Wung, but I stuck with the series because I was SUPER curious of Ba Bi. Even though he's suppose to be older, he's obviously 5 years younger, but you can't help but be sucked into his idol face.
The drama starts out as a rom-com and I loved it. I loved watching the cute couple do their cute couple things. I loved the side stories (like Ruby). It felt very refreshing and different from the first season (or so I thought).
THEN, it starts to go into melodrama mode and ah, so this is truly the heart and feel of the series. I will be honest and say I did cry a few tears and that hardly ever happens to me. I felt very emotional and if that was the writer's true intention then they did a good job.
Overall, I'm not sure if I am the right audience for this drama, but if you liked the first season, then you will not be disappointed with the second season.

Everybody loves Yumi... including Yumi
This drama has some reallay nice scenes, some sweet romance here and there and a guy who seems to be just a little bit to perfect to be true... And probably is not quite as perfect as he seems. There are a bunch of highly annoying characters some highly lovable characters but mostly a bunch who seem to act as fillers here and there.. there to make us wonder, keep us insecure and keep us guessing... However at one point it goes over bord and just becomes meeh...
The cells have been upgraded from season one, but the conflict and passion has been highly reduced and this season could easily have taken 8 episodes to complete if it weren't for the unnecessary fillers and conflicts here and there that made me like Yumi just a little bit less.
All that said, I do not regret watching this and will probably watch next season as well... if there is one.

I'm disappointed that they didn't end up together
This would've been my most favorite drama of the year. I loved the chemistry between Yumi and Ba Bi sooo much. I knew from the webtoon that they wouldn't end up together. But I didn't lose hope. I hate the writer so much. She shouldn't have ruined the character of Ba Bi. If she didn't, I would've said, BA BI IS THE BEST MALE LEAD IN THE WHOLE KDRAMA LAND. But I'm heart broken. Rating it 7 for the scenes I've loved. I'm not even looking forward to watching the 3rd season, if there'll be one.People might say, this is supposed to be educative that one has got only him/herself. I'm a simple girl. I watch drama mainly for the chemistry. So lesson doesn't really matter to me. I felt sad for Woong too. poor guy loved Yumi very much. If he ended up with Yumi, I wouldn't be this sad.

My review is SOLELY based on the show not the webtoon.
I have not read the Webtoon, so I can only write based on how the drama, not on how well it matched the original story. That said, I know some of the plot points that were supposed to happen.I will say the actors made the show come alive, I think they did a great job playing their roles. I know Kim Go Eun is a great actress and she delivered, but I am particularly impressed with Jinyoung's acting. I think he did above and beyond acting as Yu Babi, he made it hard to me to see him apart from his character.
But for the story, I think it was a bit lacking. Like many shows it started off great, it was delightful and I found myself laughing from episode to episode, I was excited for Fridays/Saturdays because new episodes came out, but after the inevitable break-up episode, the show was not as entertaining. To say the least, there was a push and pull between the characters and the show drags out a bit. That being said even if the show dragged a bit towards the cells made the show worth it. It was interesting to see them take on how humans interact and operate, and the cells were honestly the comedic relief that was needed. The cells made the show 70% worth it for me in the end.
I do think that there were some flaws with the characters that made the show frustrating but still engaging. I can't say I agree with all of Yumi's decisions, watching her at times was a bit frustrating. But I guess it just shows that she is human and not supposed to be the perfect main character, and I can appreciate that. And also Babi was very vague from start to finish, even from his cells' point of view, there is not much to Babi, and I still think that after finishing the show.
I don't want to give the ending away, but I felt like it was lackluster. I know how the Webtoon ends and I think the writers wanted to make the ending follow the Webtoon, but also not follow Webtoon exactly. But the way that the show ended was unsatisfying. I know that some people who read the Webtoon thought it was a good ending, but as a sole watcher of the drama, it was just bland. It had some sweet elements, but I think it could have been executed better.
Honestly, I think this show, at least this season, was just a 7.5, it was an original idea, but it wasn't executed well. This is nothing against the original creator of the Webtoon, but honestly speaking, even if I read the webtoon I think I would still rate it the same.
Overall the cells made the show worth it, but about halfway through the show it dragged and was a bit frustrating.

Unsatisfying conclusion
I very much enjoyed the story overall, especially (since I'm a guy) how both of her boyfriends were generally kind and thoughtful. Many times they actually anticipated Yu-mi's unvoiced concerns and brought them up to discuss. It rankled me to see Yu-mi's immaturity in this season, when she was so strict about boyfriends who are "swayed" even for a moment. Better communication and effort might have rekindled her relationship with Ba-bi.Of course, you never know how (hypothetically) her friendships with both of her ex-boyfriends might blossom into a romantic relationship once again. But I'm sorry, the ending was thoroughly unsatisfying and reminded me of the terrible ending of "When the Weather is Fine," where no one ends up together or seemingly very happy.
To end a drama series with a firm statement that the leading lady is strong and independent and "don't need no man to make her happy" is just the reason we left American television. It's a good reminder to me that, in the future, I'll carefully select what dramas I watch based on user reviews after they have completed.
The drama was a fun ride, but I would never watch it again because I know how it ends.

total disappointment
you guys really like this season yumi cells because i thought it was a total disaster, firstly Goo Woong had his reasons he was going through a lot of difficulties and he didn't want yumi to get involved, but they went their separate ways, yumi was even in a nice relationship with babi but he just started having feelings for someone else, from that moment on i didn't like him "because most people like him because he's handsome" best thing yumi did was break up, but then she came back with babi (from that moment on I thought about giving up watching it because it was very frustrating to watch it) I felt really sorry for Goo Woong because he really wanted to get back together with yumi. ok, the ending really made me happy because it gave that impression that that couple from the first season will come back but another guy appears (according to the webtoon it's the guy that yumi is going to marry when in the first season he showed a four with yumi wedding photo) it was a total frustration this season. Was this review helpful to you?
Kind of a letdown
OK I watched this in about a week and I wasn't hooked until the third or fourth episode. My eyes fall out over the male leads who are already two of my faves. Why she had trouble choosing is beyond me. Take 'em both. But what puzzles me is this: what the hell was she pissed about with either guy? Does she know anything about life? I had a great long marriage with an angel and now he is one but if you think there was never a moment of jealousy or doubt you're crazy and/or stupid. And she held them to higher standards than she did herself. Unfair.
And the real question is why did either of them want her in the first place because she's not that HOT looking and she is terminally BORING!!! BORING!! Jesus put you to sleep for a month.
I expected more.

I was so excited all throughout! But, in the end… ??♂️
Really.?!? That is where the 2 seasons of watching this series ultimately led to? 🤷🏽♂️This is one of those stories which I feel like it was plot manipulated to have a not so happy ending. (Like that annoyingly st*** Love Alarm.)
So she has another love prospect in the end. Promising? Or, just completely futile and pointless, really? Woong and Babi were actually great guys. But I guess neither of them was good enough for Yumi.
What’s the point of all the exciting, wonderful, heartfelt, giddy, priceless, redemptive moments, when in the end, it would just lead to being alone again.
I revoked the nearly perfect ratings I gave these series just because of that finale. It’s gonna go down in history as one of the series that I would have loved to watch again and again, but can never do so. It was actually a great and fun story, but that finale is just too disappointing to relive.

Maybe a waste of time? Maybe not...
Starts off strong, keeps you watching just to see what happens next but not necessarily in a "this is a really good drama" way. More like "wait... who is she going to end up with?" Keep in mind I did not watch the first season since the reviews weren't too great and I have not read the webtoon/comic it's based off of, but I decided to give this season a chance since I wanted to see Jinyoung and Kim Go-eun together. I was still able to understand and pick things up pretty quickly despite not having seen the first season.Positives:
- The cells were interesting and mostly fun to watch, although they can be a bit "in the way" when you just want to see what happens next to Yumi and Babi. Fun to see how they visually represent emotions and feelings mostly everyone has gone through. It does make typically short scenes drag on though.
- Acting is great, whole cast played their roles well.
- Nice to see Jinyoung and Shin Ye-eun together again, even if it wasn't the best of circumstances.
- Cute moments, heart fluttering moments, funny moments, dramatic moments
- Keeps you engaged for the most part
- The soundtrack for this show is great and fits well
Negatives:
- Some scenes drag on for a while since they have to show how the cells react to the situations
- Can obviously tell it's based on a webtoon given the way things play out. Ending is a set-up for another season?
- The show makes you go through two whole seasons with two different guys, only to have both of them discarded at the end in order to set up another love interest for the next season.
- By the end of the show, Babi and Woong are still not over Yumi, yet she's already off trying to find another guy. I wish they could've at least had Babi and/or Woong move on or find another love interest. Just seems weird to go through entire seasons with these characters and their relationships only to have them tossed to the side anyway (other than being swayed for a moment, Babi was such a great guy, and Woong seemed okay too despite being kind of stalkerish and overly-obsessed with Yumi, yet neither of them get a real happy ending).
- Some unrealistic moments that scream "webtoon plot progression" and unnecessary side plots. Woong suddenly becoming successful and rich, Ruby and Control Z's sudden relationship that I didn't really care for, editor Ahn Dae-young's plotline that was admittedly funny but not really necessary.
