First daily drama AND it's addicting

First want to mention the first 10 episodes of "The Second Husband" can be really slow and annoying because we have a FL that starts off married to her husband (SML) and they have a child together, but then is betrayed by her husband because of greed and money so he cheats on her and leaves her. Whats annoying about the furst 10 is her inability to move on from him, she clings to him for a long time and keeps crying, begging for him back. But that hapoens for the first 10 episodes.

Once you get pasts the first ten, you ARE golden, you will enjoy this drama very much, it keeps you on your toes because its action packed. This drama is driven by REVENGE, so make sure you are ready to feel a range of different emotions, hurt, angry, annoyed, and more. But even though the plot can be heavy at times, the saving grace of the drama for me is our ML Jae Min, he is the definition of a nice guy, at first you can ve abnoyed at his cluelessness at not i woung what the FL has been through, but he becomes very smart and of course falls in love with the FL, though the romance is slow yo start between them because of the FLs heartbreak, she warms up to him but by bit.

Altogether it is a great drama, I've reached the 100th episodes of this drama and I am still begging for more, they have currently extended the episode to 150 due the popularity that this drama has gained, and I am not surprised at all, give it a try and I am surr you will love it like a lot of us do.

Most disappointing drama I’ve ever watched

How to get easily frustrated?

Watch this drama.

From nonsense plots, countless slaps to antagonists clawing their way out of their wicked plans, this drama has it all to make you feel so angry. When you think the FL is getting some progression towards her revenge, guess what? Nope! The antagonists get back on track, commit miserable things again and crimes without getting caught or punished by the law. The FL doesn’t seem to have the will to manage that deep anger she feels for being wrongfully accused of horrible things she supposedly did. She lacks action and passively puts up with the situation. She’s been deceived, cheated on, deprived of many things, they made her believe horrendous lies, she has suffered a lot so in the beginning you think once she gathers herself together, her emotions and gets out of prison, she will be unstoppable.

Yes, there will be moments where not everything will go as planned but for sure, karma is going to taste like heaven. It’s going to be epic! And …… The more you continue watching, the more you find yourself asking, what in the tangerines is going on? How can a storyline be so low quality and so messed up? They keep adding up more and more drama, to the point it’s getting ridiculous! The drama they are adding is so absurd.

Most of the characters, if not all, are annoying or have their annoying moments where you just don’t understand their behavior. It’s okay to be annoying, but these characters have another level of annoyance. I find it so hard to sympathize with them. It’s definitely a case of a kdrama where the producers openly decided to not care about the storyline making it credible but milk the **** out of it. Also, why is it called Second Husband? I don’t understand at all where this drama is heading to. That’s why I dropped it.

Huge disappointment, doesn’t deserve 7.6. Also wanted to point out something, what’s with Koreans and the slapping? The amount of slaps in this kdrama is unbelievable. They slap each other as if it was something normal. “Hey” *slap*, “What are you doing?” *slap*, *breathes* *slap*..

Story: don’t expect to be “wowed”. It’s getting dragged and the story is full of nonsense. The Sharon episodes got me rolling my eyes so hard they reached my brain. It felt like the producers were making fun of the viewers. How can they not recognize Seon Hwa aka Sharon. Let me disappear for a bit and then come back to my family, friends and ennemis and call myself Susan. New hairstyle, new clothes, new way of speaking.. nobody’s gonna know….. LMAO. 0 credibility.

Music: inexistant. Barley remember being pleasantly surprised.

Actors: disappointing acting. Seems like they just debuted acting. However, Seon Hwa and Hae-Ran are the only ones that made me continue watching this drama. Both of them carried it on their backs. They know how to convey emotions and honestly I think they deserve to act in a kdrama that has the potential to hit a huge success with a storyline that truly makes their acting shine even more. The cast is lacking a lot of experience in my opinion.

Overall: the starting of the drama was so promising then it just got dragged. 120 episodes out of 150 and we viewers aren’t satisfied at all. There’s no light at the end of tunnel, no moments where the FL really stands up and starts doing the right things to get her revenge. She tries, yes. Some moments where you think she finally got that until she gets screwed up again by the antagonists. Not satisfactory at all. No matter how they will end this kdrama, I can already predict the FL will still struggle until the very end and the last episode will show how she finally got her revenge. A revenge that was overdue, unimpressive and unemotional . This kdrama made the antagonists shine more than the FL. The producers didn't seem to want to make this drama a success, in my opinion, it was just a question of getting that paycheck (they extended the drama by 30 episodes btw, so it says it all..). Conclusion: Second Husband is a waste of time, there are many kdramas worth our precious time. You can watch it but something tells me you will drop it ASAP and if it’s not the case, then respect!

A good and frustrating journey.

First of all I want to start by saying that this is the first daily drama that made me excited about upcoming episodes.

The Second Husband had all the typical clichés that Makjangs dramas use, from birth secrets to amnesia plots (Thought that didn't last for long thankfully.) It did make me frustrated at moments but what kept me going was the Romance. I loved everything about the two leads. I won't say that their chemistry was anything extraordinary but it was there and it was good enough.

At first the FL was "naive" as many said. I didn't agree tho. She was in love and with a kid and was desperate to give her kid a life with a father. I understood why she was begging the Ex-Husband at first and i didn't find her annoying. But for people who start this and don't like the way she acts, she does get character development so do give it a chance.

I won't lie saying that this drama was GOOD good cause it started off well, but in the middle from episode 120 and on it did lost it's spark for a little and that was cause they decided to add 30 more episodes so they mixed things up. But after a while it starts getting good again and got back it's spark! I will be honest with you tho, if the romance wasn't good I would have dropped this. Mainly cause I'm a person who's into romance so that depends on what everyone likes.

Anyways I won't say much cause I don't usually write reviews and I'm trying to not spoil anything. If you have the patience then do start this. If you're into daily makjang dramas then you have to know this does not differ much and there's not anything extraordinary.
Worth a try? For sure!

Dragged too long

The drama is now bother line ridiculous. There was justification for the 30 episodes extension. A drama ought to relatable but this is not. Lots of plot holes. For example, SH became CEO of a big company with driver and car but go knocked down on the was to a meeting. Shouldn't there be a car and driver waiting for her at her house? How is it possible for a father to find out that his daughter JK killed 2 people, stole someone child and stole money and you just overlooked it. A normal thing would be for him to send his daughter abroad. The writer just want to drag out this drama for absolutely no reason. This is a drama that ought to have ended at 40 episode maximum. It has lost it excitement and plot. What the producer is just doing is to fill in irrelevant scenes to make it up to 150 episodes.

i have so many questions

I feel like they changed the storyline a lot. i remember the bakery lady and yoon jaegyeong had the same mole behind their ear - what happened to that? also i’m sure she said she had a daughter then it was a son?

also felt like they should’ve shown yoon jaegyeong’s downfall slowly. it was like 140 eps of her evilness and only 10 eps of her downfall.

overall enjoyed watching the show. yoon jaegyeong made me more mad than the whole penthouse characters combined. i do recommend this but if your attention span is bad this isn’t the one for you sorry.

It's a good drama if you are patient enough to watch 150 episodes!!!

"Second Husband" is a drama that had great potential to get a higher rating. The plot was very interesting and I liked the cast a lot. However, the length of the drama made the story uninspiring. Unfortunately, an exceptional cast cannot make up for a lost plot episode after episode. I realize that a daily dramas generally are pretty long but 150 episodes truly are too much. The script writer could have developed the story throughout 40/50 episodes without describing too much useless details. Nonetheless, I sincerely liked the ending, especially the redemption of some characters was very touching.

Still waiting for revenge

This story gave a synopsis..FL is a normal girl , was betrayed by the BF and his female boss. Boy friend
was known to her from many years. Later the cat fights stared few events causing to lose her baby and loved once, she is falsely accused and imprisoned. Its says she will come out and take revenge on those preparators. Also the mention confectionary
Sadly the confectionery is just a glimpse. Its 130 episodes and the revenge is on the way..still the enemy is on upper hand.
.and its because our FL is born with loud speakers
???instead of ? mouth and the ? X? skull has small brain , and causing more frustration. Don't keep why they decided to extend.
Its up to you if you're interested.

This show is the absolute worst

Seriously. The worst. It’s not the writing or the acting that makes it bad. It’s the outright wrongness and horrible lack of fairness. The main character keeps getting screwed over repeatedly by this family and instead of getting her revenge she repeatedly gives the other family who is outright evil chances to make it right. Half way through the family has murdered everyone she loves and we are expected to believe that the main character will forgive and forget or trust the other family to do something. It makes no sense at all. Do not recommend watching unless you want your blood pressure ruined

Review for episode 1 - Is this drama worth the watch?

At the time of my review, this drama is still airing. So, I cannot rate the whole drama but I can let you know whether or not I think this drama is worth the watch based upon the first episode. I do think it's worth the watch but the storyline was totally different than what I expected it to be, based solely upon the title of the drama and the drama's profile image. From what I can gather, there are 3 stories going on within episode 1 (and probably the rest of the series), and I believe at some point in the drama we will see how the storyline intertwine. This drama includes the story of a rich family with a bratty daughter. A story of a middle class traditional family with a handsome son who is struggling (note this statement is not the case), and then another middle class family that is not as traditional, with a handsome son who has a nice job. The con thus far is the cutesy and naive type of behavior from the female lead character. In the first 3 episodes the female lead calls her fiance oppa at least 50 times, it's a bit annoying. I hope directors would stop portraying the cutesy/shy character trait for Korean women characters over the age of 21. Women don't have to act cutesy and shy, in order to be modest and respectable.

Side note: While it's a 120 episode drama, the episodes are only 30 minutes long, unlike most dramas which are 1 hr 15 mins long. So really this drama would have 45 episodes if each episode was 1 hr 15 mins.

UPDATE:
By episode 3, you will get a clearer picture of the storyline. I don't like the female lead character (not the actress) because they made her character clueless. I believe this drama should have had a more serious undertone, rather than a fluffy cute undertone. I was thinking this would be more like the drama The World of Married, but it's more like My Golden Life but in a not-so-good way. My original rating was a 8.5 but after episode 3 I dropped it down to a 8.0, and now after watching episode 4, I am dropping it down to a 7.5. By episode 5 it does get better.

I don't like weak female leads (see the definition below). Watching the female lead beg her husband to love her and their child, and to be with her and their baby at the beginning of episode 7 is not relatable to me. She has been in denial for the last 5 episodes, especially the last 2 episodes. Does she really expect things to go back to how they were, even if he decided to? For a woman being a single mother is one of the most scariest things that we can experience, but raising a child with an emotional abusive, cheating dad/husband should be just as scary. I would never want my child to grow up with a toxic parent. Sometimes being a single parent is a better option.

What makes a female character weak?
A weak female lead is someone who doesn't use wisdom, allows the male lead to ruin her life, while she sit idly by for the sake of love (leaving is a really great option, that female leads rarely choose to take up), and chooses the toxic male lead because they had chemistry at one point.

What makes a female character strong?
A strong female lead character is not necessarily someone who knows how to fight physically, but is a female character that
1. Uses wisdom most of the time (not all the time) - A lot of the female damsel in distress characters lack wisdom. They act on impulse, and make decisions that almost always lead them to depend on the male lead or second male lead for the whole drama.
2. Does not allow the male leads to ruin her life, while she sit idly by for the sake of "love," that really isn't love -Dramas tend portray a false image of love when it comes to romance. Love is not a woman taking abuse (verbal, emotional, or physical abuse) in order to be with a man. Almost always in dramas we see that the female lead is deceived, manipulated, or intimidated into a situation by the hands of the male lead. What's the female lead response? They either stick with the male lead through heartbreak and pain, or get back together with the male lead eventually. We often see the male leads choosing their family, revenge, or their title over the female lead, and or we see the male leads leading the female lead on a romantic chase, metaphorically speaking. The female lead in dramas while angered, end up being okay with being the last priority on the male lead's priority list.
3. Is free to choose who she love, even if it's the second lead and not the first - For goodness sakes, dramas will have people thinking that females love attractive toxic men, while hating the good guys who are caring and attractive.

So, yeah... I am dropping this. Unless I read that it gets better, I don't plan to pick this drama back up.
