Short and sweet love story

This is a mini drama. The female lead is a female lead inside an manga novel. She needs to get out of the novel to try to find the author to continue the story. She gets out and meets the male lead. The male lead is a science major and not very sociable. The female lead is a mary sue character (which is dumb and naive but cute) . At first the male lead is just interested in studying her, but then decides to help her get back to the novel. Along the way even the suppose male lead from the manga pops out. He is very chauvinistic and think he owns everything . ( at the same time his character is funny)

It's a cute watch without nothing too dramatic or draggy. The story is interesting and funny. The leads have a cute relationship! but wish they had kissing scene. They had a peck on the head.

A load of twaddle but thankfully it is short

Other than a few cute moments, there is very little about this show that is original or special. The plot is super tropey. Everything is done in a fairly simplistic way. There was a twist towards the end that was necessary to make the plot work and tie up the loose ends but it had marginal emotional impact. That sort of sums up the problem with this show, it tried to deliver the goods but the script and acting were not up to the task.

Speaking of acting, it ranged from passable to bad. The brainy ML is like a block of wood most of the time. He has very little facial expressions and his delivery is weak. He is an idol and certainly has the looks. Maybe this show was created so that his team can test the water with a tentative foray into the acting world. Let's just say, at this point in time, he shouldn't give up his day job. The 2ML (pulled from the manhua) is very annoying. Yes, he was role playing but his character is so unlikeable, it just make you want to cringe every time he shows up. His habit of starting every sentence addressed to a female with "Woman, ...." is so condescending that I wanted to start a new #tag movement to hunt him down. He did tone it down towards the end but for a good 2/3 of the show, he was just a buffoon and not particularly funny.

The female leads fared better but they have very straightforward roles and were straightjacketed by their characters. They did their best but it is hardly breakout roles. Most of the support casts were amateur hour material and one dimensional.
They also played the fish out of water trope for all its worth but this is old hat nowadays with the predisposition of recent c-dramas to drop M/FL from the present into ancient/mythical Chinese settings and vice versa.

Honestly, I am not against this type of short form web dramas but they still need to hang together with a decent script and some acting chop. I have watched other short form dramas where it is done with 3 or 4 actors and a couple of rooms as sets and they were compelling and engaging. This show had bigger ambition, a sizeable cast and probably a decent budget but it just come across as try hard. Shows should not automatically get a get out of jail card free just because of its format.

The short web episode format worked against them in this case as well. In a typical 11-12 minutes run, around 3 minutes is taken up by the intro and outro. What is left just felt jumpy and insubstantial before the end credit rolls again. An edited version of several 30 minutes episodes might work better as it will lets the story flow more organically and sustain a narrative without having to fight with all the stop-start editing.

In the end, there was just enough cuteness and fragile hope for me to stay. It never quite delivered but the ending was as sweet as you'd expect so it was true to form.

One time watch and one time listen. Peace out.

Short, sweet, and silly

I have taken a liking to shorter dramas. They pack in just as much story without so much empty space. As a mother of 3 who homeschools my children, this is probably the best way forward getting my cdrama fix.

Things I liked:
1) This drama was absolutely hilarious! My kids kept wondering why I kept bursting out in laughter.
2) I liked the FL in The Imperial Coroner, which is why I watched this one. She's super cute and plays her role here well. Very innocent and naive.
3) ML did a great job for his debut drama!
4) The ending. It's so real. I'm glad they did it the way they did it. Makes you think a lot. I particularly liked the ML's reflections at the end. There's truth to it.

Sweet and emotional drama

The drama is really amazing. I mean the love between comic girl and real boy is beyond my imagination. That cute romance makes me happy, cheerful, and emotional. I understand the feeling of love. Sometimes separation in love is important for us . On that time we feel really sad and exhausted. But we never know what is coming to us in future.this drama is based on the imagination of love and care. As just in drama we see the comic girl exit from the real guy's world to enter in the comic boy life. That make them together forever. But when she leaves that makes me cry three times. I can't control my tears.
Thankyou to the caste and the lead actors who has done their job very well and makes us laugh and cry both. I love the drama
Love from India.

One of the sweetest Chinese webdrama I've ever watched. I rewatched twice because of how adorable this drama is. tells the story of the manhwa character Bae Suji who comes to the real world to find a comic writer to continue the story. In the real world she become friends and begins to fall in love with An Yu Feng, a physics master student who doesn't like odd numbers. An Yu Feng is a sweet and caring type of tsundere male. The story is short, dense, funny, sweet, and has a realistic ending. My favorite scene is when innocent Bae Suji kisses An Yu Feng's forehead when this guy has a fever because she believes that a princess's kiss can heal everything. An Yu Feng responded by kissing Bae Suji's forehead with the excuse that he doesn't like odd things!! Aaaaa this is crazy my heart is pounding. Highly recommended to watch this drama!

A Simple Yet Sweet Short Love Story

Story:
Despite the story being very short it was very sweet and there was no drag out plot or unreasonable misunderstanding. The episodes are really short, you can literally finish in one day.

One thing that I like about the story was that it was really realistic like how the female lead didn’t like the male lead right away (which made sense since her world/ knowledge were only from the comic world) and the director didn’t force the second male lead to be with the second female lead just because she liked him (which made sense because in real life theres not always a happy ending, I see in a lot of drama that force the second male lead to be with someone else or force a seemly happy ending for them, when it made no sense, since they sincerely liked the female lead, so it doesn’t make sense for them to be with someone else).

I also love all the growth in all the characters, loved all the cute little characters even the dorky friend of the male lead and second female lead (Hu Zhi Da).

Acting/ Cast:
I really liked the casting and to be honest I came for Su Xiao Tong (I watch a few of her historical dramas and she was really cute in them so I wanted to give this one a try). From the others comment it seems the male lead is a new young idol and people seem critical to his acting but personal I think he did great. His character in the story has autism and is extremely anti-social (since he was young he rarely spoke, he even rarely communicate with his own mom) so his lack of emotion made sense (only when it comes to Bai Su Ji does he really show much emotions). The main actors where all eye candys haha expect the antagonist (the girl that liked the male lead bc I’m biases).

The other actors where really cute too, like even the manger of the comic world haha and the cute female support Meng Te Jie (loved how she was so strong willed and supportI’ve and how she never hated the female lead due to the second lead liking her)

The second male lead was very loveable too, he did a great job of acting cheesy but not awkward at all I really felt like he came out of the comic world, also really glad they change his hair, really brought out his good looks

Music:
The music was sang by the male lead (Jeremy Zuo) and personally I really loved the music, i found it super sweet, cute, and catchy. For example there was lyrics like “you suddenly appear in my life” “the moment we meet our heartbeat match the same wavelength” “so this is what heartbeat is” (sorry if my translation isn’t perfect ;-;).

The lyrics “my heart boom boom because of you” “the rhythm of heart goes boom boom” were super catchy, I couldn’t even bring myself to skip the intro haha, what has this drama done to me.

Overall:
It brought a lot of smile on my face. It was really sweet with a lot of love, friendship, trust and even a bit about family.
