So Ji Sub voltou com tudo!

Love Jayden Character
I watched this series for Shin Sung Rok. He always takes a role that suit him well. I trusted him and started to watch Doctor Lawyer. At first, this drama has a good concept. It mixed the law and medical drama. Unfortunately, the plot is more focused in political things. It's still fun but the drama seems like loose the basic concept. What I like :
- I like Jayden Lee. His first appearance was in the third episode. His average screen time was only 20-30 minutes. However, he was really standout. I was really waiting whenever he showed up. He had a mysterious motive and really hard for me to read what is on his mind. Is he bad or good? Also, he had good chemistry with all characters, such as Im Yoona, Yihan, his enemy and his assistant. Moreover, he smiled a lot. I love his smile.
- My favorite scene is when Yihan operated his patient. The heart and blood was really looked like a real one.
- I like the OST from Chen.
What I don't like :
- The plot. It had some fun story in episode 4, 8 and 15. But, it also had some episode that give me a headache when the plot focus in political or business things. About the ending, I don't know why the writer needed to end the drama like that. It feels like they need 1 more episode to end the drama. The writer seems like to forgot the story of supporting character.

Frustrated by a Plot Hole in Episode 2 but It was Good
I was enjoying but Episode 2 hit a snag. The main lead faces false surgery accusations, yet the show conveniently ignores what happened to the surgery recording. Did it disappear into thin air? No explanation. Realism matters, even in dramas. A simple line about the footage getting corrupted would've sufficed. I’m pretending that it’s just a live feed, not a recording and watching the show now. Annoying gap, hoping they patch it up in future episodes.
Continued after 2nd episode it was good but not that good. Some series make me drop in the middle but this was watchable. Sometimes I felt that the main leads could have been smarter. I don’t know how the law works on recording the surgery I continued watching considering that it’s was just a live feed.

DoctorLawyer is another one of those dramas full of scheming, subterfuge, and unpleasant, self-centered characters whom you are bound to dislike. The plot is appropriately convoluted, with an ending that gives everyone their comeuppance. I actually dislike dramas like this, and half the time I end up rooting for the bad guys, because the good guys are so impossibly goody-two-shoes. I definitely did not care for Im Soo Hyang, who was still screening as Woori the Virgin when she showed up here as a lawyer - with not much difference of character. Well, I watched it to the end. If this is your cup of tea, you might enjoy it. But you should probably read someone else.s review, I obviously have a jaundiced view.

My first review ever because OMG, the dumbest lawyer ever!!!!
Story: 9/10The overall story (not the delivery) is really interesting. This is the 2nd reason why I watched this, even though it only has an 8.0 overall rating here in MDL.
Acting/Cast:5/10
Cast: 8/10
Acting: 5/10
My first reason why I watch this drama is because of So Ji Sub, I love him in Oh My Venus and The Master's Sun, BUT his acting here was a letdown. He has the same expression the whole time. The scrunching of his eyebrows is always there even when he is happy, sad, or angry. Why?
Music: 4/10
I do not remember any of the music, maybe because I was frustrated the whole time I am watching the drama.
Rewatch value: 2/10
I will never watch this again because I know every time I read this title I will always remember my frustration at episode 4.
I do not understand the reasoning behind the writer when he/she wrote the character of Han Yi Han. The character was supposed to be a man with a brilliant mind who was able to become a lawyer. But why was HYH so dumb????? I mean, he is a lawyer, and he was the first lawyer I saw who signed a document without reading it thoroughly; he just took what Michael Young said as true and did not confirm it by reading the whole document in episode 4. I wanted to drop the drama at that time, but I really like this type of story, so I wanted to see the end of it, so I just clenched my fist and grind my teeth every time there is a scene that infuriates or frustrates me. Also, he wants to do revenge, but how he is doing it makes me so angry; I mean, the conviction or the delivery is not that satisfying! And that really frustrates me because So Ji Sub's acting here is subpar (sorry to all his hardcore fans). He has the same expression all the time.

Fight On - Yoo Hwe Seung
An Unfamiliar Day - Chen
REWATCH VALUE
It doesn't matter if I re-watch or not

Even So Ji Sub couldn’t save this drama
Sigh, we have waited five years for a So Ji Sub drama! This was probably the most anticipated drama for me. I loved him in Oh My Venus, The Master’s Sun and even Terius Behind Me, but what did I just watch?Doctor Lawyer could be best described as the drama that could have been, but was not. I don’t even know where to begin.
1.) The whole concept and idea of the show was just too over-the-top. I feel like the villains of the drama had too much power and it was just not an enjoyable drama to watch. I understand the need for shock value and drama, but sometimes just writing a bunch of evil things the bad guys do and not really understanding laws nor how ridiculous some of the things that happen was just too much.
The bad guys basically did anything and everything and they always seemed to have the upper hand, which made it not enjoyable to watch.
2.) Shin Sung Rok, second male lead slightly outshined So Ji Sub. What could have been a great bromance was basically second male lead out acting the male lead. I was really disappointed on how flat and mono-tone So Ji Sub was. I know he can act, but why didn’t he express any of his emotions? The star of the show for me was Shin Sung Rok. He’s acting range was really good and his character had a lot of depth and development.
3.) I was very happy with the lack of romance. I think any romance on the show would have been too much and it would have felt cringy. There was a touch of warm conversations between the FL and ML, but nothing more and that was good.
4.) The drama was not a drama but a boring show. Even though the villains were over the top and there was a lot of angst, the show was in itself VERY BORING. I don’t think 16 episodes were needed. Everything could have been wrapped up in 10 shows. The last show was a rehashed of everything said and done. It was very sloppy writing.
The only reason why I stuck with the drama was for So Ji Sub. I have to show my support! I just wished he went back to rom-coms because he truly shines in that genre.

The redeeming plot point? Shin sung rok as Jayden Lee
This drama was okay. Again, suffers a bit from way too long and this must be stuffed with random unnecessary plot points, and has a touch of over dramatics once we entered the second half, but decent, solid. The female lead in my opinion didn’t suit the role well. Though she showed a great emotion in her role, I do feel like she always looked rather blank, but she was enjoyable.
So ji Sub’s character Han Yihan was predictable, Jack of all trades. We never really got to see inside him (here I am comparing him to the other characters) and he totally loses to…. Jayden Lee, played by Shjn Sung Rok.
I can’t stress how I enjoy every single one of Shin Sung Rok’s acting roles. He is simply phenomenal, a larger than life personality if it is demanded by the plot. His acting is seriously something I love. I rely want to see him in more. He brings a much needed touch of lightness to this drama, and a little bit of crazy. I love it. I also thoroughly enjoyed most of Kim Tae Gyum’s character, Michael and hope to see him in other productions. However, I do feel like the way they handled Jayden as a character was… iffy towards the end.
Yuna was a pleasant surprise. She was more enjoyable to watch than I originally thought.
Overall. Decent drama held together by Shin Sung Rok.

good plot twist!!!
Love the drama for the plotlines, overall good organization, sequencing and structuring of the main plot. The sub plots, although they are only a few , good enough to show the interconnection between characters and well supporting the main plot. In addition, I love the science behind the cardiorespiratory medicines displayed in this drama, the critical scenes in the OT - WOW, kudos to Yi Han and so Ji sub for mimicking the way a surgeon would behave!!!Further more, the procedures that they have showcased in the drama are OK and quite detailed, so good effort there!!! The pacing just nice and the plot logics are OK too. love to see the main villain and the main protagonists strategizing and counter - strategizing each other's plans. Lee Kyoung Young - wow - this person is really good in playing his role in depth . I really despised his demeanor in this drama !!!Cast - wise, yes love to see the anti - hero - SSR - wow what a charismatic actor he is . Nice. Love the sense of ambiguity thrown into his character!!! You'd be wondering on which sides he is siding with though. The good or the bad guys??? which then lead to a question about WHO is he nd ultimately WHAT is his motive ? WOW. cool. Yuna Lim - - brilliant , a lady with a good sense of judgement and ethics, she is independent intellectually and emotionally brilliant - she judges every situations with her mind; not the heart even though we know who is her love interest is...the rest of the supporting casts are superb too.
Love the plot twist - it keeps me guessing WHO is having Seok Ju's heart from the get go - from one suspect of recipients to the next in each episodes hahaha . Apart from that , the plot is set up in such a way that I keep on wondering the' WHY 'or motive of one character, why does one character seem to harboring so much grudge against the main villain compared to the other , YEAH , their motives. Good narrative, and for those who love the medical sides of it, the drama is not boring though, if you really into it, the terms are OK. and I must say , they managed to water down some of the medical results and so on. I like the way So Ji Sub performing clinical examination on Yuna Lim and Sunae, wow, he looked very professional and like an experienced clinician - well he is an actor though , hahaha. Good medical advisor they have consulted here. yeah I love the issues they showcased in the drama - medico legal issues. cool idea. So , the drama is nice to watch and very enjoyable.

Not Good Enough
Korean Drama '' Doctor Lawyer '' is a medical and law drama. The story has some interesting parts, but it focuses solely on the main criminal case and gets boring after a while. Sure, the characters were interesting, at first at least, but the drama didn't have enough cases to at least lift the load off and add some interesting notes to the main plot. Also, the medical drama didn't blend that well with the law drama, and it often felt like the story didn't know which direction to follow and where to focus.
At least, the romance was left on paper and there were some emotional scenes added to the mix. Also, there were some twists that were unexpected.
Finally, the performances were enjoyable by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, four out of ten.

Subpar execution, expected twists, predicted ending.
A doctor was framed for malpractice, forced to admit guilt, had his medical license revoked and jailed for two years only to return as a lawyer 5 years later to exact revenge against those who threw him under the bus.Kinda lame storyline, right? Wait til u see the ML, he’s even worse. Can only hold one type of expression throughout the show - furrowed eyebrows, agitated/confused eyes with constipated look. A pure downer when the main poster made him look so dashing and sinister. The only things that kept the show from falling apart are the fiery prosecuter ex fiancee of his - the FL, and the conniving korean american lobbyist - the SML - who keeps stirring the pot with unexpected moves.
The ending plottwist is also expected, u kinda get the hints as the show progressed cuz they showed too much. I wouldve prefered if they had made do without those hints.
I wish these kdrama directors would make their actors who supposedly play characters that lived abroad to take conversational english classes so that they can deliver their english lines right. It’s really cringy to see how these supposedly koreans living abroad who came back only to speak English that no audience can really understand. The only one who can speak decent english on this show is Jayden’s sidekick. Honestly I dont really expect them to speak with an accent like native speakers, but at least pronounce them right so people can understand without relying on the english subs. So far that i’ve seen, the only character that managed to pull off korean-living-abroad role is Stella Hwang from Partners for Justice, and thats because the actress Stephanie Lee is Korean American. That is how the english should be delivered for roles who are supposed to be from abroad. And if the actors cant speak it, the least the directors could do is not include english in their lines. It makes the roles less convincing when they speak poor english.

Bland revenge
OK honestly I started doctor lawyer with very low expectation. But after the first episode my expectations increased. With actors like So ji sub and shin sung rok it wasn't wrong to expect from this drama. But unfortunately the drama despite having good plot and an exciting theme like revenge couldn't deliver what it promised.*what I liked*
The way the story started I was immediately hooked. A talented doctor Han Yihan who was respected for his talent but also acted as a ghost doctor for the director's son. We all knew there would be a lot of jealousy and anger.
So ji sub portrayed han Yihan perfectly well.
Of course this drama depends so much on shin sung rok as Jayden Lee. After a certain period of time you realise he is the only interesting character in the drama. Jayden Lee makes you root for him inspite of not knowing if he's a good guy or bad. I may be biased but I found shin sung rok overshadowing the leads.
*what I disliked*
I honestly found the drama to again insult our minds when it comes to female leads. As a prosecutor our female lead was very bad in keeping secrets about the revenge. I think it's high time the dramas stop showing good people as stupid. There were many loopholes in the storyline. At one point it was just dragging. Honestly when you watch a revenge drama you expect some fast paced action. Doctor lawyer wasn't heavy for a revenge drama.
Overall I loved this drama. I was hooked and I can forgive some silly plotholes because of the actors and their hardwork. I would not rewatch it but if I have to maybe only Jayden Lee and his very subtle bromance (why didn't they explore this) with our lead. The actors were definitely good and if only the story was well knit doctor lawyer could have been a better watch. But nevertheless this was a good show.
