Essense: Life is more about the Journey than the Result.

Apologies but I disagree with the previous two reviews. This series demonstrates character development in many of the roles played. It wasn't ending without closure. That was the point. I believe the storytellers were trying to tell the audience that this was only the end of ONE chapter of the characters' lives rather than the be-all-end-all (or happily ever after). Hence, the separate lines from each of the more prominent characters/roles at the end and how they perceived what they learnt in the last 10-15 minutes. The story portrayed the life of a working-class, middle-class society in a lesser-prominent city close to Shanghai, without the hustle and bustle. The story was told subtly, without the usual tropes that most people complain about. However, now that the tropes are gone, people speak about its ineffectiveness. Therefore, I ask what should be done to please everyone 100%.
