Ordinary yet special
It is your typical RomCom, a standard plot with no real twist, and with lots of bland characters. However, I ended up rewatching this one a LOT!The show is filled with cute and heartwarming moments. Think of this show as something to turn on on repeat to lighten up your heavy days.
I know a lot of people complains about the bland characters, but I view this as a design choice by the director. With so many character to manage, a clean and clear character design is probably the easy but effective way out for the series that aims to be light-hearted. Lets face it. If you are a BL fan, you would probably have seen Satang, Pond, Phuwin, and Winny on more serious roles than this.
I also love the fact that all pairs have their own song that basically sum up their plot points... well, except Peem Poom perhaps - that OST seems to be more of a show off of Phuwin's singing skill.

We Are all about the feels
Craving a high-octane drama? Look elsewhereHigh points:
* Heartwarming and Refreshing: "We Are" offers a heartwarming and refreshing take on love and friendship, with relatable characters and strong bonds.
* Simple Yet Engaging Storyline: While the narrative steers clear of intense drama, it remains captivating throughout.
* Healthy Romance: The romance is sweet and wholesome, with plenty of heart-fluttering moments.
* Humor and Music: The show's humor is on point, and the soundtrack, especially "Truth in the eyes" by PondPhuwin is catchy and enjoyable.
* Breaks BL Drama Clichés: It avoids the tired trope of a breakup in the 11th episode.
* AouBoom (Teeraaakkkk) and WinnySatang
Low points:
* Inconsistent Kisses: While some kisses are passionate, others fall flat.
* Uneven Acting: The acting from some cast members is not entirely convincing (iykyk)
* Pacing: The pacing is uneven, starting slow, then speeding up, then slowing down again before picking up the pace towards the end.
* Overused Tropes: The series relies on some cliché tropes that could have been avoided, such as unnecessary misunderstandings and the main lead bullying the love interest.
* Main Couple Focus: The main couple's back-and-forth takes up more screen time than the development of the side couples.
Overall:
"We Are" embraces a lighthearted and charming approach without intending to be groundbreaking. It thrives on relatable characters, positive friendships, and a sweet romance, making it the perfect pick-me-up for viewers seeking a feel-good escape. TanFang's scenes are a guaranteed rewatch material for me :)

wholesome cast with a genuine bond
i think they did well casting all of the boys together cause it seemed like one long long class trip. however, as much as i like them all the the show, it could’ve been shortened. it may be an unpopular opinion but sixteen episodes were a lot. it’s not that i didn’t enjoy it, it just was a tad bit long.thank being said, it was a nice distraction week after week and i was hooked most of the time. you were able to breathe through your weekly chaos during the episodes. longingly waiting for that aou boom lead series… it’s about time.

Was this review helpful to you?

Just love, nothing more yet nothing less
This series is a mixed feeling between old series and new ones. As for the story, is just a group of friends who find love and friendship at university age. Nothing more, yet nothing less.I couldn’t understand why GMMTV —after creating so many masterpieces this year— decided to go on an old way to make the series. They added too much sounds for reactions, making it unrealistic and unserious. They made so many “jokes” they weren’t necessary just not to make it serious when it needed some silence. I don’t know why, it just felt like the early years of BLs.
The story itself was just so easy, as the main character started finding each other and developed feelings for the other. So I’m gonna start with the couples.
As you can clearly see, the real main couples —even if they all are shown as main— are PhumPeem and QToey, even if my favourite couple from this series was TanFang.
As for PhumPeem, I’m gonna say that I couldn’t really feel the chemistry between them, and that even if they had some good scenes, for me, some seemed like forced and fake. The beginning of their story about the slave and all that stuff was so outdated, but at least I felt that they did well with the development of their feelings for each other…, even if sometimes I couldn’t buy it. Not talking about the kisses, ‘cause Phuwin didn’t want to open his mouth, so I couldn’t really be into the scene whenever it came. Even so, they were cute and I’ll always love them because of Fish Upon The Sky and Never Let Me Go.
About QToey, I would say that their couple promised so much and I really liked the idea about the post-its and how they fall in love through letters. The only missing thing —again— is the seriousness we needed between each other. Because they were so cute and good together, but then, after saying a beautiful phrase, they had to start chasing each other or running away “joking” and doing stupid stuff.
As for TanFang, my favourite couple of the series, is a unique kind of couple in BL series, as one of them is so obvious showing his love (which is usual), but the other one is so freaking in love with him too and smiles at him with adoration and cuteness, seeing his baby’s love so brightly. I also loved that they weren't like the classic “top and bottom” (which I dislike) and when you see the “NC scenes” you cannot really tell who does what… Also the kisses where in another level from the rest of the couples from this series. I loved that even if Tan’s character was so playful and carefree, he also knew how to get not serious but helpful and caring whenever the situation required it. He was my favourite character so far and I really found in him the man I want in my life.
Soooo as for the last couple (sorry they deserve that name as their story started in the last episode 5555). ChainPun for me, was the couple I didn’t really saw together at first, as maybe they were just playing around… after seeing Pun that (sorry) stupid in the first episodes…?? I don’t know why, his character developed so much… I think, and I started to like them together. But the only real thing that I liked from them was their final kiss. THAT’S THE KISS ALL THE COUPLES SHOULD HAVE HAD!!! Thank God we had at least one. They did so well, I laughed and smiled equally as I saw them kiss and their friends’ reaction.
As for the rest of the series, I would say that I expected more change between Phum and his father as Peem asked him for it, but I guess they did well as not everything and every change happens that fast. I liked they showed it as an important thing and as an effort Phum made. My baby did so well.
Things to highlight from these would be Aou’s acting. It felt so natural, even if it was all so overacted, it was part of the play and it looked great, just as you know how he can make a serious one… I love him so much.
So… this series was just cute, full of (gay) love (as they all are gay???? What the heck bro??? 5555) but just fine, easy, without heartbreaks or broke ups or depression… It is good to find this things sometimes if you want so smile.

Surprisingly Good
There's no complexity in the story, or bigger plannings but its soooo good.I caught myself smiling as if it was me living those scenes... or wishing to be there... its charming and a massive green flag...
Lots of kissing but I dont see a dirty mind on them... its a genuine love story with lots of side couples that are so cute as the main...

Groundhog Day
Negatives:Absolutely nothing new.
Boring repetitions.
Show every cliché.
The story flow was 1 step forward 2 back for no apparent reason.
A maximum of 12 episodes were needed.
Positives:
Interesting acting progression for some of the actors.
Even though nothing happens you watch it comfortably and quickly (up to episode 12 ).
Funny roles that create a pleasant mood.
Overall:
Simple Comfort Watch

Watch this at least once!!
I have to start by saying that this was a story with a different dynamic even though it looks like a typical university thai bl drama. All the actors were soo good, especially Pond and Phuwin because I love them! The part that I like most about this drama is the comedy. The sound effects makes it even more funnier!! The storyline was simple, not complex or confusing at all. I also love how this drama is friendship oriented and how it shows the brotherly love between all the friends. The drama kept me a hook every Wednesday and was worth watching every episode because each eposide had its own highlight. Unlike a typical university bl , 'We are' felt different because of the acting and the storyline. Between the story the unexpected kissing scenes were sooo gooddd.. I feel like the actors did their best and the chemistry between the couples were good. Although I still think that they could have added more kissing scenes! LOL .Overall the drama is good, not the best but still good and simple. Feels more like a friendship based story and the comedy is soo good. Watching this drama is worth it!

Still waiting to see how this ends
This show had so much potential and it still does maybe but... this show has too many leads, I high key wish it wasn't so focused on everyone. Idk why I didn't expect it to be this way when the description legit states a group of friends. They need to add the tags for multiple leads & multiple couples, I wish Pond and Phuwin had their own show, I found myself skipping most of the other couples/other leads most of the time. I really want to see Phum and Peem's characters romance develop more but they haven't had the chance to due to the group aspect of the story this show was written in. I hope in the future Pond and Phuwin get their own show without focusing on to many leads taking away from the story in my opinion. I will keep watching until the series ends and I will update this. As for right now, the show is dragging along with character/relationship development. Was this review helpful to you?
All comfort, no hurt
There is not much depth in this show, no fancy plotlines or heavy drama but there doesn't really need to be, this show is a good portrayal of healthy friendships and I think that is what makes it special far more than the 'bl' part of it.Ngl I started off this show not caring about PhumPeem bc I'm not a particular fan of PondPhuwins acting skills but they grew on me, I think they benefited from not having heavy plotlines bc I'm not really sure if their acting skills could handle it.. the push-and-pull vibes in their relationship reminded me of my own college days and I like how they communicate, so it was fun to watch ❤️
I love love love Tan&Fang, every time they're on screen I wish they had more time, I would've loved to see more depth in their relationship. Fang is more of an introvert but he's sooo funny and he really tries to come out of his shell when he's with Tan. Also, Tan is like the glue that holds the group together and I really love him for that. Even though he acts a bit over the top, it fits his character and makes me appreciate him more ❤️ I also think AouBoom is an underrated ship (@gmmtv give them their own show NOW) and cannot wait for more of them in the future ❤️❤️
QToey I have a bit of a love-hate relationship, they have their cute moments and I really like WinnySatang, I also think Satang is a great actor but his character here is too childish for me personally as a 25yo, it gets a bit uncomfortable to watch at times I would've liked to see more serious scenes between the two of them, the whole cutesy, giggly and childish relationship doesn't do it for me, tbh they're my least favorite couple in the show even though I really like the actors
LASTLY ChainPun deserved more ?? I could write an essay about how much I wish they got more screentime, I think the chemistry is there, and they have such beautiful subtle moments between them but there's just too little time to develop it, I know it's probably bc of the actor switch as well but it sucks that they only get crumbs. I've seen people comment on their acting skills but I don't think I can judge it fairly, we've just seen too little of them for me to have an opinion on it.
All in all, I liked this show, it had great moments. I absolutely love the scenery and the way they talk about their feelings between couples and between friends. I'll be sad to see it go after next wednesday, it was very comforting to watch and it made me really happy. It's not perfect but I don't think they intended that. It portrays the beauty of friendship and found family and I love it for that.
If you're looking for a show filled with drama/angst/ heavy plot-based I'd say this show is not for you, but if you need a break that feels like a long 16-hour hug, this is the one for you.

Outline of a Review here.
Plot: This is a feel-good story and I'm all for it. We all need something sweet & nice in our life.Character(s): All of them are well balanced.
A mix of sweetness, comic timing, romantic, quirky and well built.
Acting: The chemistry between the couple's that have been formed till EP15 is really commendable.
To Be Continued.........
**Special Shout Out to Pond Naravit!**
They have, in my opinion, mastered the art of showing emotions brilliantly. Idk if it's the result of immense practice, method acting, skill or just straight-up talent from within but the way they have grown in their career so far is as 'aged like a fine wine' as it gets.
✔️Poom's birthday scene specifically where Peem leans in to kiss him after gifting him the flowers made me want to write this down so I don't forget to add this to my review, once the series is finished.
Closing your eyes while kissing is basic knowledge but there is this feeling one gets when they kiss their partner in the beginning of the relationship, the 'honeymoon phase' if you will. You get butterflies and when your lips touch, this overwhelming, butterflies in the stomach, the tension in the pit of your stomach, everything. And the need to just give in to your partner's embrace.
That face, as soon as their lips meet in the scene is everything I needed. I mean i don't generally feel the need to pause an episode I've been eagerly waiting for to write down stupid sh!t. This scene gave me goosebumps and there's a very valid reason why.
The exact moment is around 33:13 minutes into the series. Y'all NEED to check this exact moment out when they kiss, Pond's eyelids drop and close and goddamnit! They are good. ?
Bits I Hated (bit strong), Disliked:
The family reconciliation bit is so overrated in any genre. (EP15)
Whenever it's a kid that doesn't want to talk to their parent(s), we always hear everyone say -
"Oh but they're your parents."
"It's a shame for you not be talking to them."
"They are older. They have a right."
"Parents make mistakes."
"Taking care of them is your duty since they raised you."
Why is it that a child has to carry the burden of making up with the family or elders? Why not for a change an elder accepts their fault in any situation? If a child doesn't feel like they can get over something a parent did, when the child is a grown up, I don't see the need for them to reconcile. They are an adult and they can make their own decisions. If someone makes them feel bad about themselves, they have the right to not keep them in their life. I absolutely hate when this topic is discussed in a TV show or movie saying how the child should reconsider or give the parent a second chance.
Life is short, if we start giving second chances to everybody that did us wrong, a 20 something kid would have no life left to give those chances.
In my opinion, Phum doesn't need to talk to his father who seems be always makes snarky comments towards him. That in itself shouldn't be tolerated. I'd speak up, give them a dose of their own medicine. It's good enough he didn't talk back too much, there's absolutely zero need for Phum to reconcile if the idea was put in his mind by Peem, instead of it being Phum's choice and decision.
