i was surprised!

I'll admit, before seeing this i had genuinely not seen a single positive review, which now i dont understand. it was a very cute story with time to give the characters some development and didnt feel rushed.
earthmix had amazing chemistry as always. kudos to the actors specially mix and the actress playing Lin. the transitions between some scenes were incredibly smooth and the continuation of emotions in their faces when their scenes would switch left me speechless

overall a very cute and well directed series and i suggest watching it !

Wash Away Your Negative Body-Swap Ideations

I remember watching the trailer after the 2022 line-up and thinking, "this is how they're going to utilize this trending pair? In a god-damn body-swap BL??!" and this was right before I saw the masterpiece that was the Moonlight Chicken trailer. It was already so bizarre to me that Earth and Mix were getting two of their own series in just a year, and it also caused a little bit of fret since I, with no doubt, adored them in ATOTS and was concerned that them playing different characters would ultimately ruin their dynamic. They're so good in one thing that you hold up this high expectation for them in another, and while I won't say I loved this on the same terms as much as I love ATOTS, I for sure wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

Let's Dive In.

I went into this with very low expectations, since I was so ready to just be fundamentally let down, and I did that so that I wouldn't draw any lost hope. I'm happy that most of what I was expecting didn't happen, but then, of course, there were some other things I wasn't so fond of. Cupid's Last Wish is the story about Win and his family as they go through a great loss of losing their father and gaining his inheritance, including the family-owned farm. When Win founds out that his childhood friend has a part of his father's inheritance, he feels betrayed and like Korn was using his family. A year passed, Win finds out his sister was still in contact with Korn, and because of that, he storms off with her in tow, and sadly, they get into an accident, causing them to switch bodies. Win is given this task to find holy waters to return to his original body, causing this frenzied adventure, with Win being reminded how much he loves Korn, and by the time he gets back to his body, there's a little turmoil, but it's a happy ending. Genuinely, I think this was the best handle of a body switch in BL, and mind you, I was a die-hard fan of Great Men Academy (not a body switch, more like a body metamorphosis, but still). It didn't have any of the pathetic tropes that come with switching bodies, like the underlying, "I'm a guy but in a girl's body so it's okay for me to be in love with you." or, "I'm a girl in a guy's body which makes it technically okay for me to love you since I have the soul of a female". I worried that because this series had the same director as FUTS, it would be a total abomination, but I can say, this series is a knee-kicker compared to the disaster (excluding Meen and Duean (but not that kiss, ewe)) that was Fish Upon The Sky.

What could've been a lot better: The entirely of the conflict is just one big misunderstanding, and the problem with everything and everyone is not having decent communication skills. Of course, if communication were present, this series would only last maybe two episodes, but it's so daunting to watch everything spiral out of control when someone could've just spoken up and the situation would've been resolved. You could tell in the first episode that Korn wasn't doing anything that Win was accusing him of, and it's dragged on for too long, only to be made clear in the last freaking episode. I could've told you that! Also, I don't like how Lin just went along with getting engaged to Korn without even explaining the plan to Korn in the hopes that Win would speak up before they actually did get engaged. It's so mindless and stupid, what were the writers even thinking, and who thought this was a masterpiece of an idea??! Again, communication is so lacking, and I'm tired of watching BLs where their entire plot is ran off of human beings that don't know how to talk to one another.

This might've been a translation error, or maybe a culturally different custom, but in episode 9, Lin's mom asked Korn if he, "took advantage of her", in which he explains he did, but with his true feelings. Huh? Korn never, not even once, takes advantage of "Lin" (in my perspective of taking advantage of someone, it's taking their vulnerability or naiveness and using it to someone's advantage, physically, emotionally, mentally, and in most cases, sexually), nor did he ever do something for the likes of himself because of his "true feelings". Again, it threw me completely off my wagon, and I was hella confused. It made the conversation icky, and I know I felt icky thinking he would of course say no, but then says yes, and you just kind of want to vomit a bit in your mouth. I don't know if "taking advantage" has a different meaning in Thailand or culture-wise, but I know it through me for a loop.

Everyone knows that I love Mix, and I was so proud of him for being a rookie actor and giving us the performance he does in ATOTS, but here, his acting felt weak in a lot of spots. When he was goofy around with Korn, it's great, having heart-to-heart talks were great, the chemistry between them was off the charts, but in the scene where he was seemingly angry, I felt like it was severely weak, and it's really just him shouting with no desire behind it. Even in episode one, he's just shouting and yelling with such a monotone face. It's hard for you to play into his feelings, and you kind of just turn the volume down to save yourself from second-hand embarrassment. I wanted him to talk sternly and with emotion behind his voice when he was mad, not just yell in Earth's face.

Lastly, I wish that Korn was the only one that could actually see Win as himself, even in Lin's body. I wish that the Monk would've secretly told Korn that he was the only one that could see Win as his true form, and while Win is freaking out that Korn is only getting close to him cause he looked like Lin, it would be revealed that Korn never saw Lin and only saw Win, as he was before the accident. It would've made for a pretty good twist, and I was kind of waiting for it to happen, but then it never did, and again I had hope for something that went crashing. Because, sure, you're supposed to fall in love with somebody's soul and not care what they look like, but falling in love with someone also plays a part in falling in love with their appearance. So it's nice when Korn and "Win" kiss for the first time, but you can't help but think that's he's kissing "Lin", and while she might not be her actual self, it's still her body. I don't know, I wish they would've held off on the first kiss after Win returned to his body, but it was a really nice kiss, so who am I to complain?

What I liked: This kind of ties into why I like Great Men Academy so much, but I loved watching Win experience what it's like to be a woman. By far the funniest episode is the one where Win experiences a menstrual cycle and goes through the trials and tribulations of PMSing. Now, sure, most of it was exaggerated, but it was still fun to see. Even Korn trying to buy pads was just cracking me up. Because, if body-switching were a real thing, I believe it would be similar to what happens in tv series.

The chemistry between Mix and Earth is so much more poignant in CLW than it ever was in ATOTS. And I appreciate that we obviously see that they have feelings for one another before the switch happens, and it's even better after he switches back. They just give each other this look that is so vivid that you just gain butterflies at the sight of it. By episode 10, their chemistry is unmatched. The softness in their voices as they speak to one another, them kind of just being them for a moment and playing around in the bed, gosh I loved it all. It also didn't hurt that their make-out sessions were very intimate and sexy. Like literally I was shook watching them kiss, especially when you think back to their one and only kiss in ATOTS. Them boys got some mouths on them.

I loved seeing Jan again since FUTS (or at least that's the last time I remember her). She is such a versatile actor from playing a cute and shy girl to being tough once playing as Win. I really do hope to see her in more projects. It was also really nice to see Gun since the last time I saw him was Tonhon Chonlatee. Champ was so cute with his little curly hair, and It was nice to see him again, I'll always take my chances to see him again. White was adorable in those glasses, and while he and Lin end up together in the last episode, I would've liked to see them have that connection throughout the series. Na who plays the chef that has a crush on Korn is ridiculously handsome -- just throwing that out there.

The scenery was beautiful. the large oak tree that they sat under was mesmerizing, and I loved every second of it. I know some people were complaining about the color grading in the series on Disney+, and I can't make too much of a comment on that since I watched this through DC, but It does look fundamentally better on YouTube, so I'll give it that.

Rating:

Story: 8.5 - I liked watching "Win" and Korn go through their little adventure to get where they needed to be. The story was fun and a bit refreshing, but I'll take a star and half off for all the miscommunication errors that could've been easily avoided.

Acting: 9.0 - The acting was really good. Jan stood out to me the most, and Earth wasn't much far behind her. The mom was decent, but she struggled to cry. Mix was really good when he wasn't having to be mad. White and the rest of them were decent too. I'll take a star off for the struggle to show the emotional parts the characters went through.

Music: 5.5 - had a nice upbeat to it, but ATOTS is much more memorable. Cute songs though.

Rewatch Value: 2.5: I can see myself rewatching this series while it airs on Youtube, so that counts as a rewatch.

Overall, this might have been a body swap, but it's handled with much care. The director at least knew to switch between Lin and Win during their adventures, so it doesn't feel off (even though when Win gets back into his body, it's a little lackluster since we've pretty much seen him the entire time). I highly recommend this, it's super cute, super fun, and I can't wait to see Earth and Mix again.

EarthMix ❤

This series really deserves a lot of appreciation.
Earth and Mix as usual on their best. They know what they are doing and how to do it. They don't have to touch each other over and over again just to show us how much they love each other. Their eyes and facial expressions can do that job for them.
This series has a lot of beautiful scenery which connects us to the nature and few scenes which gives us a little deja vu of tales of 1000 stars. The series has a very fresh concept.(I was tired of engineering college romances ?)
Mix did an amazing job. The character he portraits has lot of negative emotions. I can't imagine how exhausting that could be to perform such rage and negativity and pain. At one minute he was a maniac and the next he was a sweetheart. The change of expressions rapidly with in minutes is no joke. Hats off to that.
Earth as usual being Earth. Extremely good looking and pillar to his boy Mix. A companion without whom the series would be not complete.
The girl played Lin character is a brilliant actor. The coordination between Mix and Jan was commandable. She did play her role with a bang.
I liked the fact that how they showed every challenges Win went through by trapped on a female body. The period part is one of them and the way it was gracefully and accurately done was extremely appreciative.
This series really deserves more and more and more appreciation and acknowledgement. I fall in love with Earthmix all over again and i am in love with this series ❤ its a beautiful one ?!

Rinse and Repeat

So first of all this couple (EarthMix) is a powerhouse dynamic duo! I love them together. Unfortunately, I was worried to watch this series because it seemed it had the same theme as Tale of 1000 Stars, it threw me off that they would be the same couple in the same body swap theme BL but I dove in anyway. The story was good and had some heart warming moments and there's great chemistry between the whole cast. It was actually kinda nice not having a side couple so all the focus was on the MC and their goals. The romance scenes were definitely enjoyable in not only that they looked authentic but came at such vulnerable and cute moments. This is a perfect show for a BL newbie and it honestly sucked me in a lot more than I thought it would.
Lin is absolutely beautiful!
Enjoy...

Not the best produced BL drama out there but... it's EarthMix so it's a win for me

I had high expectations for this series as did so many other fans and tbh I was a little disappointed with the outcome but because it's EarthMix and Jan as the lead roles I managed to enjoy what Cupid's Last Wish brought to the table.

Story/Production -
Okay I'm gonna break this down between story and production (value);
The overall plot of the story is pretty interesting and original for a BL drama. I can totally get on board with a body swap trope. The story was more or less easy to follow, with the character's intentions and motivations more or less being spelled out for us which is good because this series really throws a lot at you and if they didn't explain it quickly/clearly what the problem was then they would've lost the audience way too early. There are a few parts that didn't make much sense to me or that don't really get discussed (like why Win had to be /that mad/ at Korn or that scene with his dad talking to the Venerable Uncle) but because this series was only 10 episodes, I figured I'd overlook these parts. There are also a handful of scenes that I didn't think were super necessary to the main plot (i.e. the menstruation scene) but it gave some cute moments of EarthMix or EarthJan and for that I can appreciate them. I'd say the whole story was otherwise well paced, with enough drama each episode to keep me from turning off the video and there was a clear beginning, middle, and end. Overall the story was pretty good for a 10 episode series.

Now for production value... Yeesh. Now that was... definitely something. If I recall correctly, Cupid's Last Wish aired on YT right after Not Me and if you've seen Not Me (if you haven't, what are you doing stop everything you're doing right now and go watch it!!) I think you would agree that Not Me makes Cupid's Last Wish look like a joke (in terms of production value). Like it almost feels like GMMTV put all the budget into Not Me -- which I can understand to some extent due to the heavy subject matter of that series compared to Cupid's Last Wish -- but as a result, Cupid's Last Wish was left with crumbs to work with. The opening sequence every episode looks a bit sloppy compared to other GMMTV productions, there's random editing that makes the characters look way too unnatural, and there's some pretty bad audio quality at some points in the series. All these and more really made it hard for me to take this series seriously at first but I will admit that it gets a little better as the series progresses into later episodes. It's shame though because it feels like there wasn't nearly as much effort put into this series as other series under GMMTV, and EarthMix definitely deserves way more than that.
The production value is the only reason why I feel the need to rate this lower than I would have.

Acting/Cast & Romance -
Main cast did absolutely wonderful. Earth pulled off his character so well that my expectations for men have been raised even higher than they already are. Mix and Jan did so amazing with their characters as well, and I'm so impressed with the way they were able to portray Win in Lin's body. Their portrayals of Win were consistent with one another throughout the entire series, they couldn't have found a better pair of actors to play these roles. There were a couple of moments where Mix's acting was a little less convincing than it usually is, but to be honest, I blame it on the production crew. He still did an amazing job, especially with what I thought was a particularly difficult character to act. Not gonna lie, Win's character was absolutely infuriating, like at some moments I almost felt like I hated his character the most, but to me that only means that Mix did an awesome job acting the part ^^

The romance scenes were sweet and cute to see. They were by no means awkward or uncomfortable. If you're someone who likes EarthMix there's no doubt that you'll enjoy these scenes. But what bothered me a bit was that some of their couple scenes were kind of written like... a stereotypical straight couple? Like the scene when Korn tells Win to shut up and he gets upset with him and ends up crying because he's "on his period" or something... Like don't get me wrong, Mix is absolutely adorable when he pouts and that scene won my favor back when Korn hugs him to distract him from crying. Like that scene? I ate it up. It was adorable and I enjoyed it. But it was still a little weird in the grand scheme of things. It seems like Win's entire personality was modeled off of a stereotypical straight girl who nags her boyfriend all the time and eventually gets what she wants in the end. I don't think it's a cute dynamic at all but it's ignorable enough to enjoy the romance scenes/couple scenes.

(Also the scene in the last episode when they're packing--AHHHHHH now that's the kinda lovey dovey stuff I was waiting for 10/10)

Music -
10000/10 without a doubt. The opening goes so hard and it really fits the overall theme and story of this drama. Same goes for the ending song. This might've been just me, but playing the ending song during emotional scenes was probably one of the best (/only) good decisions that the production team made because it played up the scenes so much and made them so much more touching. Also EarthMix sang both the opening and ending so you already know they're gonna be good.

Rewatch Value -
Because it's short, I'd argue the rewatch value is pretty high. Because the story is very segmented and there's only two different stories max going on in the same episode, I think it would be easy just to pick up a random episode and enjoy the cute EarthMix scenes in it.

TL;DR -
Kind of disappointing if you were expecting an experience similar to A Tale of Thousand Stars. But once you get used to the standard that this drama sets for itself, it's a quick and enjoyable drama with an easy to follow story and character development. Bonus points because it's EarthMix and if you're like me, you'll like anything with EarthMix in it. And bonus points for Jan and her amazing acting skills!

Best soul swapped acting ever!!

I write this review after watching the series 4 times already..because the first time i watched it i was so frustrated with Mix character and attitude like erggh he is just so hot headed, stubborn and ego! But after manage finishing it and as the ending is so sweet i decided to rewatch it again and this time with more open mind and heart...and little did i know i was already addicted to the series??

I said Mix's character annoys me right? Well thats because he slayed it...he played his role really amazingly like he actually managed to act like how we girls usually acts, the attitude the egos and the mood swings he nailed it all??for example when he was having mood swings and cramps due to period??it was so on point..and earth did a very great job at adding the sweetness to this drama like how beautiful the world would be if guy like Earth really exist..??the way he gave his attention to Mix and how he maintain his stand that the one travelling with him is mix not janhae really touches my heart...this time earth decided to ditched the indicisive character that he usually plays?and instead we have Earth who have firm stand on who he likes and knows what he wants..

Mix might be annoying for the first two episodes but trust me keep on watching otherwise why would this drama have a high ratings right? You wont be dissapointed with this one...but if you are already in bad mood swings and not in a good emotional states then skip this drama first and watch something lighter and easier because Mix's character will definitely triggers your emotional status and you might feel worse??but if you want that emotional roller coaster rides with right amount of fun then watch this please??

It's not that bad!

I actually dropped this series after episode 2 because it's so boring to watch this honestly T.T... After so many months there are so many bls coming and some of them are so boring to watch, that's why I tried to binge watched this again and I didn't expect that their chemistry will be the same as the " The tales of 1000 stars" T.T... This is so long to watch that's why it's boring but thanks G! they have Chemistry......Is it worth watching? Yes for me. Overall I enjoyed this.

Story: If you know the "The tale of 1000 stars" it just the same but this time he have the whole body XD... ( I don't want to write some spoiler because it will not going to be exciting when watching this)... The ending feels kinda rush but it still a good ending.

Acting: Omg they never dissapoint when it comes to acting and their chemistry???? I'm living for it!

Music: 10/10

Rewatch Value: 7 or 6/10 but I really liked episode 6
Am I gonna recommend this? Maybe but it's not a cup of tea of anyone but it's good to watch this? Definitely!

I actually liked this body swap BL

The trailer left me confused and sceptical but I’m glad to say that it doesn’t do this show justice at all!

While Korn (played by Earth) technically travels with Lin’s body, he’s actually 100% aware that it’s actually Win inside. Additionally–and this is arguably the most crucial point—Win actually appears as Win in most scenes, especially when they’re alone. This means that many of the significant or somewhat romantic interactions actually show Korn conversing with Win.

The scenes tend to switch back and forth between Win and Lin (who’s really just Win in Lin’s body), but the good news is that the transitions between the two were done really smoothly. I know all this possibly sounds mindboggling, but trust me. You have to watch it to understand that it really works out just fine.

While most of the show relies on the body swap plot (plus villainous family members) to propel the story forward, little context is provided as to why characters behave the way they do. The story, as whole, ends up being kinda empty. Despite being supposedly good friends for so long, the depth of Win and Korn’s relationship also remains surprisingly shallow.

Here’s a plus point, though: If you thought Earth and Mix were super compatible in ATOTS, their chemistry only intensifies in CLW. At some point, their interactions feel so natural and authentic that you start to wonder if this is Korn and Win, or really just Earth and Mix bickering.

Holy cow...that was a hit and miss!

Another series to the pile...another bittersweet aftertaste -and I'm pretty sure it wasn't the milk lol

I always right my personal thoughts and feelings after every series I finish, literally right after. Just saw the last episode not even 10 minutes ago....I like to have it fresh in my memory and be as honest as I can here. This series had its cute moments and definitely its annoying ones, and that's where my problems begging.

The plot is centered in Win's (Mix) life and his family's dairy farm. He takes control of it after his dad's passing , but a series of unfortunate events takes place in order to make everything harder and more dramatic...like expected. We are introduce to Win's best friend Korn (Earth) since the very beginning...and it's pretty clear that they is something in the air with those two. But fate comes in the way and after a car crash, Win and his sister Lin have a Freaky Friday moment lolol

However, their relationship goes out the window when Win finds out that his dad left a percentage of the business to Korn - which I thought his reaction was ridiculous btw, he was best friends with his crush since they were kids but because of that Win completely turns on him ad kicks his ass out the house in a burst or rage....and that happens during the first 7 to 8 episodes.

Win's character is incredibly toxic, whiny, filled with rage...a walking and screaming red flag. They really did their best to make this guy unlikable. He treated Korn like manure *lame cow pun* lolol and that boy was the kindest and he did NOT deserve what he got for most of the episodes. It gave me whiplash with the whole "I love him...I hate him" tone.

They BOTH love each other for years and nothing? That wedding plan was incredibly stupid...like, come on writers...really? Are we that dumb? Win and Lin's mom was like "you travelled with my daughter for 7 days, you HAVE to marry her" bullshit was and eyeroll for me. And they just let it happen until the last second...omfg. Was Korn really going through with it? It made NO SENSE. We found some plot twists in the last couple episodes that were not that twisty lolol but at least the writers tried...yay???

Acting wise....it was alright. Nothing great or bad, it was fine. Didn't think there was a lot of chemistry even though EarthMix is super popular, but in this one I don't know what happened. Maybe it was the script that didn't let their sparks fly as much as A Tale of Thousand Stars?

The series was plain milk....and I was expecting chocolate milk, if that makes any sense to you. Cute but bleh. Would not watch it again. Watch it if there isn't anything else new or old for you to binge.

I watched the entire thing in one day...

First time writing a review but because this show isn't watched enough, I have to write one. Here are the main reasons why you should watch this BL:
1. Earth and Mix's chemistry is on point. It's such a joy to see them on the screen together.
2. Acting. Janhae, Earth and Mix did a fabulous job. Especially Janhae and Mix because they had to portray very specific character traits which were not within their original character.
3. Production. The team did a fantastic job at portraying the switched characters perfectly. You never forget that Win and Lin switched bodies without creating confusion or awkward situations.
4. Story. Body switching is a classic tool to create plot, but here it was on another level. A very well and realistic (if one can say that, lmao) execution.
5. Comedy aspect and realism. Episode 4. That's all I'm saying.
6. It actually teaches some Buddhism, which gave the series a unique touch.
All in all this was a wholesome watch and I can recommend it for everyone who wants to watch a good story, with incredible actors and a bubbly feeling.

This is how Brokeback Mountain should've ended

A cottage life with some adventure and drrrama. I like that the villains are family members. Sounds about right. Yeah, they had kinda a weird purpose, but still; family can hurt you the most.

THE PLOT: Win and Korn (played by my parents, Earth and Mix) are childhood friends who have loved each other since the beginning of time. They are going on an adventure together after Win and his sister Lin had a car incident in which they swapped their souls. Win has Lin's body, and Lin has his. Win, in his sister's body, is not happy with him and Korn traveling together. Korn was given a quarter of his father's farm after his father died. Win is angry and blames Korn. As they are traveling to obtain sacred water that will swap Win and Lin's bodies again, they start to understand each other more and gradually speak about their love for each other. Will they end up together? This is a review with spoilers, so... YES! They will. Because if my parents Earth and Mix played in a series where they wouldn't end up together in the end... I would be REALLY angry!

CHARACTERS: A lot of people seem to not like Win, but I can't help it, he's so cute. Korn is a perfect boyfriend; something like Mr. Jeng in Step By Step. He's caring, loving, nice, and, of course, sexy as heck. Lin was extremely cute, and the actress is great. Their mother reminded me of Thua in The Eclipse; they forgave her a little bit too early. Other than that, I didn't like the caricature of a overly feminine gay dude. And his sister was pregnant with whom in the end???

OVERALL: I liked it. I won't rewatch it, but it was cute. Especially EarthMix. Btw, does the director have a foot fetish? Lol.
