“Hey, hold on a second..." Chan-mi's brother paused their conversation. She hears some shuffling and then the phone goes dead. She never talked to him again. The police ruled it a suicide. She knows that isn't what happened - and her brother's phone is missing.

She decides to transfer to his school for senior year to find out who the killer is. She's a competitive marksman, and she's able to transfer to the school shooting club. She rents a room in Seoul and buys a used scooter.

Soo "Heon" is a HS student and sometimes boxer. What he doesn't know is that he has a brain tumor - it's bad, it's inoperable, and it might cause personality changes. His scooter's been stolen and it's already up for sale. When he gets to the location, there's a girl about to ride away. That's how they meet.

RoO is a 2022 release that is rated 90 on AWiki. It is 1 season consisting of 12 60-minute episodes. I go into these shows cold with no intel; the rating is the only tip (I'm not yet ready to invest my time in something rated under a "6" - I'm late to the Asian programming game and I've got too many top tier titles to catch up on). That leaves me in a state of being open to /actively wanting to/ love it, but wary of disappointment. As RoO went on, I appreciated it more and more. It is ROUGH by Kcountry (or any other) standards. Ep9 stressed me out. It gradually became evident that this is an excellent drama, mystery, and thriller - with an above average romance tossed into the mix. RoO holds its own in the first half and then starts to get quite good in ep7. It is violent. Vicious. And intensely gripping.

Shin Ye Eun (Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, More Than Friends-8) plays Ok Chan-mi. She grew up in an orphanage. Her twin brother was adopted around the age of 8, but they've kept up their relationship via the phone for years now. She isn't going to let his death go unanswered. The almost pretty but quite manly Lomon (All of Us Are Dead) portrays ML Heon. He's gotta be a good guy; he's good to cats. Seo Ji Hoon (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency-7.4, Begins Youth, Solomon's Perjury) portrays Seok Jae Beom, the student who lost his memories because of an accident that he had the year before. He's the son of a chaebol. His mother is overly worried about him and he has a mysterious tormentor.

Chae Sang Woo (The Nokdu Flower) plays Gi Oh Sung, an entitled, condescending jerk who never lifts up the lives of anyone around him. He brings everyone down. Lee Soo Min (Twinkling Watermelon) is Kook Ji Hyun, the female version of Gi Oh Sung. She might even be worse. Jung Soo Bin (Rookie Cops, It's Okay!) Is the erotically white-haired Tae So Yeon who is devoted to Heon because he rescued her from savage bullies. The screenwriter is Lee Hee Myung (Rooftop Prince) and the director is Kim Yoo Jin (Dog Knows Everything). I haven't seen their other works but Ima check 'em out now. As for the music, You And I, by Ha Geun Yeong, is VG. Every element of RoO shines: Acting, directing, art, camera work, writing... RoO is a talent showcase. It hits all its targets.

Chan-mi brother's adopted parents had changed his name, so no one knows she's his sister. She has to walk a fine line between acting merely curious while keeping her relationship with the deceased a secret, lest she get fed lies and become a target herself. She starts asking around, but the answers she gets are far from what she expected. Her encounters with the adopted parents reveal people of the worst self-righteous sort. After reports of her brother's bullying make their way back to Chan-mi, she has to wonder if these people who raised her brother actually ruined him? Chan-mi also discovers that her brother had a secret he did not want others to know, especially in Kcountry.

As she continues to investigate, it stirs up trouble, and she is attacked. Circumstances keep Chan-mi and Heon running into eachother. He helps her, and she returns the favor with a bigger favor. Before long, they have an alliance, of sorts. Chan-mi doesn't reveal her identity or purpose, though, especially since things seem to point to Heon as a possible suspect. There's clearly attraction between the two of them. Chan-mi's turmoil is visceral.

Revenge is the theme. There are multiple parties seeking revenge, even when they have no justification for it. Justice is always proper, but revenge can destroy the one who seeks it. Often there is a fine line - some bleeding over. Everyone wants revenge, but sometimes people take revenge against an innocent party: Chan-mi is on the brink of making some dubious decisions and horrible mistakes. In the meantime, the show features a minor who stabbed a girl brutally because she wouldn't date him. He had no fear because he's a minor, and Kcountry's laws are soft on the under-aged. A couple of students decide to fill the gaps left by the law and administer revenge... eh, justice ~> Harsh justice. Chan-mi is not the only character in RoO with a score to settle. It gets very tangled: Teachers, bullies, victims, police, siblings, crushes, plots, connected parents, political parents, the wealthiest parents, /gangsters/ and so many kids trying to cope.

At one point, one of the gang is thrown into a van and driven off by bad guys. They decide to wait until the morning to tell the police, which makes no sense. This person is an imminent danger. The way it played out is exciting, so we can forgive them, right? In the end, when the killer is revealed, it is a touch underwhelming, but it is good enough... ✋Hold on! I wrote that too soon. That's just the /beginning/ of the end. The very end is very, very good! So stick with it.

RoO delves into the fact that we trust the police and government less and less in modern society. Ask someone under 25. The entire student body enters into a tacit agreement as RoO closes. They won't be talking to the cops. The bigger the group, the more likely there will be a weasel who spoils it for love of attention. So, the viewer is asked to accept a premise that would be extraordinary IRL. You'll have to watch to know what I mean. If one can roll with it, the emotional satisfaction is the reward. For the most part, RoO deftly manages impressive twists and turns. I'm not saying that no one can figure them out (I, myself, happen to be terrible at that😞). The writing is simply very skillful and brilliantly executed. RoO is a top-notch thriller, all-around. Get it while it's hot!

tuned in because it has high reviews but this turned out to be a shit show. im ijboling at how they want to make chanmi and sooheon a thing. respect for yeeun for choosing bad dramas. cash grab what others say lol. i need to watch the glory again because shes was so good there and all of us are dead for lomon.

other casts are there for no reasons. gi usong is disgusting like thats your step sibling. jihyun should press charges. i like that the father who has a big role in the police department is not biased with his son because if it were other kdrama, they would side with their son LOL. ajung is pregnant but i dont even see her stomach rise and whats behind the blond girls hair and eyebrows, i dont think they mentioned it. why are they in the same home and where are their parents.

you know whats so bad is that that fall would still make wooseok alive and to think that sooheon was first to see is so frustrating. he should survive that but i dont know why they want him dead. when gi usong died, no one cared IM CRYING. i mean he deserves it because hes a shitty person. the police knows the truth but they turned a blind eye because the school lied that gi usong jumped when ji sooheon was there but it was an accident though. you know how shitty you are that even people lied about your death IJBOL.

seok jaebum storyline is somewhat okay. he needs death penalty because hes a menace to society. hes a dangerous person. i feel bad for him though thats all because of his alter ego whos a psychopath.

Intense, but hardly genius

There was good acting, good music, good hidden mystery. But when it went from story outline to actual scenes, it started to seem unrealistic and not always convincing .. There was also many shifts in story focus connected by the main thread - mystery behind Park Wonseok's death. Which did make it interesting, but I think it all opened up having more holes and weak logic.

And really, if I start talking about the police work I'll be here all day.

Overall, it's just an ok watch.. better to watch as airing drama I think - you'll forget to keep track of a lot of things.

It was good. After episode 4, I couldn't stop watching it. Just like a true thriller I was hooked. It was unfortunate how little the characters were developed. Our Changmi kept the same attitude and approach throughout her search. The planned revenges were nicely done and thought so I was disappointed that all confrontations felt lacking in comparison.

Like many thrillers, the "plot twist" was a bit overused. Every event had its own plot twist. You can hardly see it while watching so I hope if you are seeing this before watching the show it doesn't stop you. In the end, this is a good show and I truly enjoyed it esp the first 10 eps of its run.

Revenge of Other conta a história de ok Chanmi, que tem um irmão gêmeo mas foram abandonados no orfanato ainda criança. Uma família aparece para adotar apenas ok chankyu e com isso, eles tem que crecer separados. Enquanto Chanmi e Chankyu conversam por call, a chamada é interrompida. A irmã vai até Seul visitar seu gêmeo e assim ela descobre que ele cometeu suicídio. Ela começa a desconfiar pois seu irmão não cometeria esse ato. Então chanmi decide mudar para Seul e se infiltrar na escola dele para obter mais informações da morte de Chankyu. Chegando lá, chanmi faz várias amizades que ajudam ela a chegar no resultado.
Esse dorama virou um dos meus favoritinhos e eu super reassistiria. Simplesmente tem um roteiro impecável e os atores foram muito bem escolhidos. Eu consegui terminar Revenge Of Others muito rápido pois fiquei muito curiosa para saber o que iria acontecer a cada episódio, ja que os mesmos, acabavam com um ar de mistério. Muitas vezes, eu tive vontade de chorar com os personagens ou de bater em um dos vilões, mas ao mesmo tempo consegui me apaixonar por eles. A série conseguiu esconder muito bem o assasino e ocorreram muitos plots que eu nunca imaginei que aconteceriam. Realmente prometeu tudo e conseguiu entregar!! 10/10

absolutely perfect

this dramas plot is carved out beautifully- twists and turns every episode, it leads you through a maze of who killed who, who’s the newest police suspect and what really happened with park wonseok. but said maze reaches a finalised conclusion that isn’t consumed with heartbreak and doesn’t leave loose ends hanging about. even when you think the murderer is obvious or the results is predictable, this drama finds a way to throw a spanner in the works and prove you wrong time and time again- this drama is a whodunnit, tinted with school life, drama and a slither of romance- i highly recommend you watch this, it’s a great binge!

Disappointed but not surprised

I started watching this with very low expectations as high school thriller dramas are often written so poorly, Regardless, ended up hooked to the point I was surprised as to why the show didn’t sucked. It’s not what i signed up for. Which was a shitty high school drama where teenagers just do whatever they want and the adults are non existent. But by episode 10 everything went down the drain. You get Hooked from the very beginning and it distracts you from all the inconsistencies. I am a bit disappointed given that this drama had so much potential to be great.

I’m surprised sooheon was still alive by the last episode with the amount of times he fainted and got hit on the head.

I think by ep 10 I was over Ok Chanmi’s character. She changed so much, but her basically exorcising jaejoong out of jaebeom’s body was just shameless writing. How can she forgive Jaebeom so easily just because he was nice person? When she literally shot Sooheon when she believe him the culprit? It’s just seems so out of character for her. I mean she said she take the culprit to the mountains and killed them herself but suddenly she’s Mother Ok Theresa.

After a while you start to notice how every single thing that happens had a sole purpose and it gets so annoying. Ajung being pregnant white hair girl “going away” and finding jaebeom at the port jaebeom mother going into the ICU so he needed money somehow jaebeom and Chan I reaching jaebeom on time before being exposed of being the hero. Like everything was just too purposefully written like those OP characters that get specific powers for every villain. To the point is just annoying.

Up to ep 9 my rating was 10 then it progressively went down. I am quite disappointed in the ending. Still I’m grateful for the ride at the beginning which was quite fun. I guess i got exactly what I signed up for at the beginning of this drama.

Highschool bullies type troupe

Revenge of Others had a strong start but after the halfway troupe it regresses in terms of plot and writing. Likewise, I do have strong praise for the casts as they acted and put justice for their characters.

I feel like it is due to the fact that I watched more action-infused dramas and movies in the last few months more than usual that’s why I am a little harsher on my critique. Nevertheless, I do think that 12 episodes were sufficient though the ending seems rushed and concluded with many plot holes. Episode 12 was definitely the hardest episode to finish from the series.

Overall, I definitely have strong mixed opinions with the drama.

TLDR: Above average but not the best (in terms of plot progression and writing wise) highschool bullies x revenge troupe kdrama

watched weekly as it came out

when i first watched this i actually binged the first 4 eps in one day and it started off super strong, loving the progression of the characters and it was overall very exciting and drama inducing to watch. tho this drama can get very physical and bloody, it does bring awareness to the realistic situations that can happen due to bullying and harassment. i wouldn’t say romance is a big genre in this drama but the amazing chemistry between the main leads was too good to miss out on and (spoiler) the no kiss at the end was not as disappointing as i would have hoped but the ending for them was enough💗. overall the majority of the cast was really good and the acting was on point all throughout the 12 eps. now onto the plotwists:
gi osung was very clearly involved somewhat in one of the incidents (which was kind of obvious for me at least) but for jaebeom to have killed chanmi’s brother was kind of shocking to me! as well as when osung fell from the school room after fighting with soohyeon - totally unexpected. maybe this was just me but the last two eps felt slightly rushed in trying to just wrap up all the chaos and mystery going on and in my opinion it would have been better to unsolve some of those mysteries in eps 10. other than that some tiny unresolved holes were here and there but we obviously can’t expect a 100% perfect show. loved the dynamics and hope the actors have great shows coming soon! music was also a bonus🤞🏼

Lowkey what did I just watch

Lowkey I feel think I have to rewatch one day because they are hitting too many side quests, and the first time I watched it I had no clue what was happening, so the second time I will need to put my full focus on what is happening because there are too many things that happen in the span of 10 mins and I get confused about what we are focused on.

They introduced new characters in every episode, and then they end up not being relevant to the plot because they either go away the next episode or they die. I feel that the guy that stabbed the girl 20 times was really unnecessary to the plot and that they could've gotten rid of that completely. I mean, I get that it had some importance in the last episode, but for an early episode like that, I was clueless about what significance he had for this show.

I liked Chanmi and Sooheon since they carried the show with the amount of aura they had each episode. They got their revenge on the bullies that caused harm to others. The hammer scene was something else, but that guy deserved it 100%.

Jaebom had 10 personalities in 1 minute. He went from being a normal person and friendly to suddenly becoming a demon under a different name??? Then he was like crashing out in 15 seconds and finally returned back to his normal self in the end.

That Gi Ohsung guy gotta be the worst-written character I've ever seen in all the dramas that I've watched. He doesn't deserve that much screentime, and he doesn't have that evilness that most villains do in K-dramas. Most of the later episodes, this dude had no emotion on his face; I couldn't even look at him because he had nothing to show. This guy is just some high schooler, and he thinks that he is some smart guy that knows everything. He's whatever, but at least he smiled sometimes.

Overall, I watched the whole series because it got intense sometimes, and I wanted to see Chanmi and Sooheon on the screen, but there were some lacking parts where I didn't pay attention to what was happening because Gi Ohsung was boring.
Since this drama was really serious most of the time, I was watching with someone, and we had to make fun of what was happening so that we could laugh a little or else it would've been dead quiet and highkey boring.
