Such a healing and heartwarming series
This series is criminally underrated,my cheeks hurted so badly after watching this cause I was constantly smiling, damn this was cuteness overloading type series, this type of series either become very cliche or cringe but this one made me feel like I am tucked under a warn blanket in a rainy day, listening to my favorite song with my favorite hot chocolate. This hits all the perfect place with it's acting too.It had some shortcomings but even those are loveable🥰🥰,if aggressive behavior from overloaded cuteness is a thing than I had it while watching it.Ahhhhhhh, too cuteWas this review helpful to you?
One For The Ages
Now this is how you do a coming-of-age series. This is brilliant. While the story may not be unique, it is carried out as if it is the first one ever done. It should set a standard on how you do a coming-of-age story with flair, grace, and intensity. What made it so? Two things. A brilliant and phenomenal screenplay. Neither schmaltzy nor overly dramatic. But kept it real. And the second reason is the astonishing and brilliant acting of the four main performers. They understood the characters and with youthful intensity made them come alive and scream First Love to us. This is a first rate series and should be on everyone's Must See for 2022.See my full review of this series on my website, BLBliss.com.

Loved it
After reading some reviews, not every series has to be Oscar-worthy. This just made me happy. The characters in this series were all so cute and sweet. No bullies or fights. Only confrontation was with parents and one jerk boyfriend. But I loved this so much because it had me smiling almost the entire time. Even the emotional moments were sad but beautiful. Plus the OST is so catchy and good that you want to hear it again and again. I never skipped the intro. Also added it to my playlist. So far, I have watched this series twice. It’s definitely a quick pick me up.Was this review helpful to you?
A Short, but Cute Story!
I watched all the episodes on a cold, windy afternoon. My main conclusion - too short! The story shows a huge comparison between loving, understanding parents and strict and unyielding parents. Parents who think they are successful and decide to make demands on their children, all the while forgetting that love and praise are important components.
This series would have been better had it been a bit longer, the ending felt very abrupt.
I liked the relationship between the main couple, they had pretty good chemistry, it's just again, too short.
The second couple added a bit of excitement (in the romance column) - I probably would have been a tad bit bored if they were not in the story.
All in all, not an award winning series, but it had the warm and fuzzies!

Beautiful, fulfilling love story between two innocent high school boys
I have a lot of conflicting views about this story. In a way, it was just another rookie high school bl about one kid who’s poor with amazing and relatable parents (Xuqizhang), and another kid who’s rich with strict and ignorant parents (Yeguang). But the characters carried such chemistry between them that falling in love with them is inevitable.MAIN CP:
The two leads, Xuqizhang and Yeguang were absolutely adorable! I would describe their relationship as two innocent puppies falling in love. Their story was executed well enough to really touch my heart yk. However, throughout the drama, there were quite a few scenes that were cut short and I feel like they could’ve been further explored. Then again, I feel like the episode count was the perfect amount to keep me invested because there’s only so much that can be done about these basic high school bls. There aren’t exactly plot holes, but I feel like it kinda ended in the middle of a lot things happening.
SIDE CP:
Tbh, they were kinda confusing. Once again, you have another seriously cliche cp, with a guy who doesn’t want to get hurt (that’s how I interpret Ray at least) and a guy who’s willing to do anything to gain the other guy’s trust (Jian). Their relationship wasn’t as deeply explored (obviously) but it moved pretty fast. Overall, I didn’t really understand them, but they were cute enough so I just went with the flow.
OVERALL:
It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re into HeartLiming or TinnGun (I feel like they kinda all had that cliche high school trope) and also in general! I feel very content after finishing it :)

Simple Love Story
**Brief Synopsis**B (Student): Ye Guang
T (Student): Xu Qi Zhang
- Beginning: B and T are students at the same high school and meet by accident. Because B helped T in his moment of need, they quickly become friends.
- Middle: Despite both of them having family issues, they find solace in each other’s company and slowly fall in love.
- End: In the last episode, they finally confess their feelings for each other by kissing on the basketball field. But before that confession, there are numerous little moment that suggests what they feel towards each other is not mere friendship.
**My Opinion**
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:
- I liked how their relationship grew because they found solace in each other's company.
- I like how B is much more confident by the end of the show thanks to T’s help. I’m glad T’s parents also seem to have changed.
- The main couple is cute together.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- Very simple and predictable storyline with no plot twists or especially notable moments.
- The romance part is short and sweet with no intimate scenes to speak of.
- Family drama takes up a big part of the show.
**Conclusion**
This is an okay watch.

Short but pure and refreshing BL series♡
Just finished watching this series today and I feel so empty now T_T This is my very first review on this website and I've literally created an account to rate this series 10/10 because it deserves to be known and be among top bl series.. I don't know where to start from because this series is literally a work of art and a masterpiece!!!! I've sooo much to sayyyy like firstly I really LOVED this series a lot and I just can't get enough of it.. Imma just start watching all the eps again coz it's thaattt gooood!! Believe me both the couples have unbeatable chemistry and your cheeks will hurt from smiling throughout the series except from those scenes where the parents appeared lol.. Shuo ting & Andy huang have become my most favourite couple followed by Li Zhen Hao & Shen jyun and I wishhh that we get a season 2 or a new series with both the couples... I wasn't even willing to watch the last episode not because it has any sad ending but simply because I didn't want it to end T_T I love the way they've shown how ye guang and qizhang slowly fell in love.. Li Zhen Hao has potrayed ye guang's character sooo well I could totally sympathize with the character I literally cried whenever ye guang cried specially when it was his birthday and all the unfortunate events had to happen only then but my boi qizhang came in time and changed what could be his worse day into one of the most memorable day for ye guang.. From the first scene of the series when qizhang was crying and ye guang gave him the umbrella I became hooked I almost forgot that it's just a series.. And about the second couple, I'd literally take whole day to talk about them!!! They're soo freakin adorable! I wish they had more screentime tho..This series is so sooo special because there's no toxic plot only pure and innocent teenage love that will make you squeal from cuteness! Just the way they look each other and specially when they smile at each otheerrrr aaahhhhhh I just can't get over them yall pray for me to move on as I might just go crazy at this rate haha.. Also the ost (Take it away and slow motion) adds on to the beauty of this series, it's sooooooo beautiful that I've been listening to them on repeat!!! I never skipped the opening and ending of each episode even once that's how much I loved the song.. I hope all the people who have participated in the making of the series know how muchhhh we appreciate all their hardwork and that we're eagerly waiting for a season 2 ^_^Was this review helpful to you?
A reminder of how you will never be 18 again
I expected the show to focus a lot more on the campaigning process, but instead, the show was just packed with fluffy moments involving the two going on meal/study dates and staying over (not complaining tbh).ÂTold through the stories of different youths, About Youth is about living, breathing all the hopes and anxieties of being a high schooler.
It’s about friendship and first loves. Worrying about how your dreams align with your family’s expectations of who you should become. And keeping your grades up through the turbulence. About Youth is a reminder of how you will never be 18 again, rushing headfirst into the same myriad of dizzying experiences.
What was most memorable was the relationship between Yeguang and his overly domineering father, who struggles to display care for his son in a way that is understood. Yeguang desperately tries to reconcile the two sides of himself: an obedient son who will do anything to accomplish his father’s dreams, and his true self – a boy who yearns for some time to himself.
I would have liked to see more of Yeguang's evolving relationship with his parents, as well as how he would navigate his relationship with Qizhang. So yes, if anything, the show would have benefitted from having at least 10-12 episodes.

Easiest way to wake up happier
Truly stunned by everything in this series. Although a school based romance again, its hardly even just that. This short series deserves so much more attention for how gorgeous the cinematography and the OST is. The actors did such an incredible job for being new to the industry and i’ve never hoped for better people to portray these complex and unique characters. I love each and every one of them the same and really couldn’t consider one or the other better than the latter. Seriously, please give About Youth a try if you have the time and walk into it with an open mind and open arms because this coming of age web series has got to be one of my new all time favourite bl’s yet. Light, fluffy, romantic and that dash of angst. Everything and more, bingeable but also rewatchable !!Was this review helpful to you?
Perfect for a Sweet Tooth!
This drama is sweet, fun, comfortable and easy to watch from start to finish. The story is nothing new, but the characters were given ample time to establish themselves as unique individuals who have their own fair share of burdens and troubles.I loved the conflict between Ye Guang and his parents, the sweet banter between Xu Qizhang and his mother and even Ray and Jian's relationship.
Moreover, I adored how naturally Guang and Qizhang fell for each other.
It was 100% worth my time and left me with a fluffy feeling after it was over.

Short series and good enough to rewatch
This is a light, high-school romance type of story, which has only 8 episodes. It's worth watching and it took me just one single day to watch it. I love the soundtracks and theme song, and just found out that the actor is actually a singer in Taiwan. I'd love to see more of the main leads in the future, and it would be nice to have a season 2.The family issue is so familiar-parents who say they love their children, but in fact are forcing their needs and desires to their kids. Hope Guang can find a win-win solution on Season 2 (hoping there will be one). What I also like is that the two main leads do not portray the usual, somewhat stereotypical BL characters, with on being the cool, caring and sometimes dominant senior and the cute junior who wants to be taken care of. Both Ye Guang and Qi Zhang are sort of "equal" in their role as lovers, and the mutual friendship affection is so strong in this story.
I would love to see more of Jyun Shen and Zhen Hao Li in the future.

A healthy dose of young love
About Youth ReviewThis was a little gem and hopefully a sign that the Taiwanese BL industry is finally recovering post Covid. The premise, about them both running for Student Union President, is but a backdrop to a coming-of-age story. It’s more to do with recognising who you are and paving your own path in life.
There are, in typical Taiwanese BL style, two couple stories. Both of these are good. They’re healthy, nontoxic relationships which is nice to see.
Couple 1 – reflected how having everything on paper doesn’t necessarily mean you are happy. You can have lost important people and still be happier than someone who has it all.
Couple 2 – how important it is to be with someone who likes you for all that you are. It’s also important not to bring past hurts into current relationships.
Oh and Wilson Liu (History 3 MODC and History 4) has a guest appearance. That didn’t hurt at all.
Guang’s parents were truly awful human beings. It’s sad to think parents like this exist and forget their own humble beginnings. There’s also a terrible uncle in the mix. Qi Zhang’s mum had some real pearls of wisdom and is one of my favourite BL mums of all time.
It scores lower only because it’s short and so some of the pacing on certain stories felt rushed whilst others they laboured on for too long. The OST is banging and almost its own character as some of them are in a band.
All in all a lovely binge watch, well acted and signs that Taiwanese BLs are back! Bravo
