Adorable!

This was such a good series! It was adorable. There were no cringey scenes. (There's one scene that could have been cringey but wasn't, so bravo!) There were multiple issues touched on but the main story stayed on course. My ONLY complaint is that it was too short. I would have liked to have seen so much more of every part of this sweet little story, including the side characters.

(And now to cheat the system for the required 500 characters.....)

Your comfy corner ❤️

I have been smiling and giggling the whole time I watched it. I finished it in one sitting and I can't get over it. I love the story line, it is something very simple yet touches our heart as we can relate and it's not over the top or too much drama. The journey from being suppressed to being able to enjoy the freedom you deserve is what I loved about this series.

I love the actors❤️ They are soooo young but so talented ❤️ all of them acted the best they could and it showed and we as an audience received and loved it.

The songs were top notch . It's like a earworm, something I will be listening to it from time to time , or maybe everyday ❤️
It's like that comfiest of the BL which makes you so warm and fuzzy inside like it is a warm blanket in a winter night.

As for whoever is reading this , if you are questioning whether you should watch it?
Give it a try, it won't disappoint you ❤️

A fluffy comfort drama with lots of cute drops

This drama was so cute. Because I went into the drama blind, with no expectations, trailer, or plot in mind, it was something interesting. I did not think the final episode would have so much fluff that it made me smile till my cheeks hurt. The side couple gave me flutters because they had so much chemistry and steamy scenes. sigh... Xu Qi Zhang came in with the saying, "You caught my eye, and then my heart." I cannot, for the life of me, understand how they managed to contain that amount of chemistry in just 8 episodes. Of course, the issue with Ye Guang's parents gave me so much pain and anger, and I read into his character. The amount of stress and pain that those actions could put you under is unbearable. The intro got me singing every time "Baby, you can't take it away in my pocket". The rewatch value is definitely a 10. I don't repeat dramas, but I will on this. The screams I had with jumps prove this. Give it a chance. You'll absolutely love it.

Fluffy, adorable, light & sweet

Enjoyed this short series. Just enough to make you see pink bubbles. Nothing heavy to give you a roller coaster of emotion. It’s just a relaxing treat for your Friday or Saturday night.

Given that most artists here are newbies and still raw with their acting skills, it’s very obvious that they put a lot of effort to do their best. With more projects, I am sure these young men will honed their acting skills to produce excellent work.

I love the music for this series. It’s perfect for the series: light and sweet.

I understand what some review meant with multiple focus. For a 24 minute per episode and only 8 episodes, this series tackled two relationships plus other life issues of each character. I see it as the Director being a genius with his craft to accomplish this.

By the end of the series it’s that “Awwww, I want more” expression.

Again? I really hate when I found a great series ended by force. Like, when you found an end route then you chose to jump other than find another route safely. In opinion this series needed (at least) 1 or two more episodes to finish the conflict between Guang and his family.

I could wait patiently to see Guang and Qi Zhang kiss at the end, so I really don't mind to witness about their fight. They were really cute, sweet and had a great connection amongst them.

I actually underestimate this series at the beginning. A first love story in high school? really? Then they shocked me with its simplicity.

Charming and Sweet

There's really not much to say about this except that it is a very Charming and Sweet series. Everything about it from the characters to the music, cinematography, acting. Everything is so adorable and light-hearted. It creates such a dream world you can't help but immerse yourself in their world and their feelings especially Xu Qi Zhang. The way they convey their emotions and the little expressions is so natural like the directors put them all in the same room and just left them to fall in love.

CAN WE GET A SEASON 2 PLEASE?!!

Okay, so first of all, WE NEED TO HAVE A SECOND SEASON. The drama was a great watch but I felt like the time allotted to each episode didn't match up with it's detailed plot. There were a lot of sub-plots that were dropped in the show without any closure or explanation behind them. There were a lot of things that were left with an open-ending and sometimes the show felt like it was rushing between to scenes in order to cover the whole plot within 8 episodes. Those are things that could be addressed in the second season along with the continued storyline. There clearly is room for development.

Overall, the drama is a very light and sweet watch. You will enjoy yourself very much. The castings were great and all the actors did a good job. But I do feel like a season 2 would definitely help.

mostly fluff and sweet

the story definitely.....fell a bit to the side by the end and either gets wrapped up too quickly or never gets a satisfying resolution, (like the parents? erm), but this was still an overall sweet and heartwarming watch.

all of the characters feel about as awkward as teenagers tend to be, (although tbh, I'm...not too sure if it was intentional or not), but nonetheless added to the overall "youthful" charm of the series. they're all very sweet and range from being slightly awkward to Quite awkward, which balances out with the seriousness of Ye Guang's parents.

i do wish they had more time for the story, because it's clear by the end that a lot of plot threads got dropped or seemingly just....forgotten, and the few ones that weren't WERE rushed, some more clumsily than others. scenes and time noticeably jumped around more near the end (without seeming choppy somehow?), but it still wrapped up mostly okay. (Ray and Jian are adorable but I still had no idea what was going on with them by the end lmao.)

One of my only and biggest criticisms is just that they went too hard on making the parents horrible when they didn't have the space/room to give it a proper resolution. It's quite off putting especially when put next to the cute little scene with the leads...

in the end, besides the emotional abuse and neglect coming from one set of parents, this is just a typical high school coming of age series full of fluff and heart (+ angst), despite the lack of cohesiveness in the story. Also, Ye Guang's actor kept reminding me of a sad puppy this whole time while watching and I just had to put it in this review. That's what made it so satisfying to see whenever he smiled or actually looked happy, especially by the end.

Would probably rewatch and skip most of the parent scenes, because, ow

about it all

going into this i honestly had no expectations. but, i've watched it three times now.

i always go back to this whenever i need a break, when i need something "light" and adorable, something easy to come through. this was the first series of all of the main actors (i think), and you could tell - i would admit that, still i can't imagine anyone else playing the roles, they all did so well. the acting was great, their stories were pretty (i wouldn't have minded a longer series, where they'd be able to go in-depth, but i'll take what i can get xD)

also, the actor who plays an jian has such a pretty smile, it's actually unbelievable - literally almost died the first time he smiled.

all in all, i think this is great - and the music in it was literally so good, i LOVED the songs they played.

they slayed considering the short episodes, and (i could imagine) limited budget - so considering all of that, this was just really good, and well made.

the sweetest first love

This is quite possibly the sweetest, most healing show I've ever seen. I've been rewatching the episodes repeatedly, when normally i just burn through to the next thing. The story and character development and acting and cinematography are all super high quality. I LOVE the OST and how integral it is to the narrative. It's so heartwarming to watch these kind thoughtful boys taking care of each other and being so smiley and happy together as their relationship slowly develops. These fantastic young actors bring a combination of innocence and realness to these characters that I've rarely seen in queer dramas.

The pacing and character/plot development is so well done and consistent all the way through episode 7, but unfortunately the resolution in the final episode feels rushed and full of holes. There are a lot of sudden developments that would have benefitted from more backstory. There are also scenes and dialogue in the trailers that never show up in the show, so it really feels like the series was originally meant to be at least 2 episodes longer and had to be edited down. It's SUCH a superb show on all levels otherwise that it's really a shame if so. I'm still satisfied with the resolution i just feel like we as viewers and the entire crew deserved a more complete experience. Maybe we can get a director's cut if it earns the popularity it deserves? I'll definitely be looking for more / new work from this writer and director, as well as the cast.

Made me long for a second season

In the past 3 years of using this website I have never reviewed any show I've watched but this one I have too because it was beautiful. When I first got into it I was nervous that it might start happy but end sad, thankfully that wasn't the case. Obviously it wasn't all happy which is good because it shows hardships many people go through. One thing I loved about this show is that Qi Zhang and Ye Guang always communicated with each other. I seriously cant even type this review correctly because there's so much to say about this show and its all good. Please at least give this show a try its amazing.
