This movie could have been so much more... Spoilers!

My gripe with this movie is that it had the perfect setting to turn into a romantic or social message. But in the end, it ended up being neither. The main character does grow in some sense, but not entirely.

One example: The ML went through harassment himself while dressed as a woman, but he never directly addressed why he was wrong, just saying, "I am sorry," even when he got a stage to say it out loud. He apologized to several women, but it didn't feel like he understood why his previous behavior was problematic. His realization seemed surface-level. In addition, it is really hard for me to believe that he grew up with a sister and was raised by a mom and ended up doing what he did.

But the comedy was good and you can never go wrong with this guy! His acting was A+!!!

Satisfying comedy effects

A hardcore dumb premise that is absurdly built till a point that it's almost like a cult movie in its own class. Weirdly enough it also has an outrageously great storytelling and acting that gives in a solid performance for the comedy effects, provided that logical thinking is to be ignored completely, then it will be a satisfying ride in its particular sense.

Confusing stuff

The movie "Pilot" reminded me of Korean movies from the 2000s that, through comedy, dealt with various sociological topics, i.e., they used different cultural themes to promote social values (Scandal Makers, Punch, A Man Who Was Superman, Quick, 200 Pounds Beauty, Penny Pinchers, The Quiz Show Scandal, Save the Green Planet, Highway Star, Mr. Housewife … well, I could count the movies for days). The point is that this movie stylistically fits into the Korean cinema how I remember it.

Unfortunately, this movie disappointed me in many segments. I expected more piloting from a movie with such a title. Also, it doesn't work as a comedy. Personally, I only laughed twice, and both times because of the mother's phone, when she calls and when she answers the phone, but never because of the main theme of a man pretending to be a woman. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned here, but those scenes mostly felt distasteful and unconvincing to me. I was especially disappointed that a child was brought into that theme. However, the movie's resolution does show a good message and gives some thought about the sociological reasons why someone pretends to be something they are not. The movie tries to stay in the middle, but in doing so, it satisfies neither the traditional audience (me) nor, I assume, the modern (progressive woke) audience. Still, I commend the movie for opening up this topic and offering us something for discussion.

Really Entertaining!!

I really love it! It's entertaining right from the start till the end. It's lighthearted and fun with great comedy, yet it brings a story of redemption towards the end. very well done.

How the ML got fired might sound a bit exaggerating, because I was shocked myself, but I'm thinking there might be some subtitle or subtext lost in translation. More importantly, it's the message they try to bring across about message on how women should not be objectified. It also has other social issues being touched on really nicely.

Very well rounded show with great entertainment value and meaningful message!

Korean Comedy Actor

Jo Jung-Suk is my favorite cast member so far because he is an excellent actor in many films and on some TV shows. This movie is about Jo Jung-Suk being stuck or maybe the company didn't acceptable to his job journey so his boss made him quit. After that, he tells her sister made him turn into a girl. Then he applies for a job with a fake identity to an airport job online. Then he went to his interviews with Korean Air, so he did it. The first flight was very dangerous because the airport plane going down with the girl saved over 200 people. I hope everyone watches this comedy Korean movie.

Fun comedy but lacks an important message

The movie is a good comedy and a fun watch and for that I give it an 8. But it could have been a 9 if they had made him speak on his experiences as a female pilot and what women face in the industry especially since he was ready to give up everything in the end in order to come clean. On that aspect, it is disappointing. There was no righting of wrongs so the ending could definitely have been far better.

It's a decent one-time watch and hopefully at least the audience gets to see how difficult it is for women facing sexual harassment in the workplace.
