lovely vampire GL show
okay, let's get it out of the way: yes the show is short. I also wish it was longer. but I rated it based off what it is, not what I wished it would be, and I think it's a pretty solid 7, maybe 7.5if your only requirement is that there's GL, you won't be disappointed (tho of course, there's no kissing or outright terms used, but this is still a cdrama after all). there are five (or six) important characters and all of them are women with interesting and intriguing personal connections to each other. the show has humor, fluff, angst, drama, magic, violence, pretty much everything you could ask for. the visuals are also very beautiful, not just the costumes and set design, but the camera work as well. and of course the actresses are all gorgeous
where I think it falls a bit flat is that there are some moments that could have been great angsty moments that were instead used for comedy. I also wish that we could have gotten a bit more character backstory before the last episode, but I also think the way we were given it was very interesting, so I'm not too mad. there were also times the acting felt a bit shaky but I'm a lot more willing to forgive that in a web series
over all, very fun show with lots to give any viewer, I definitely enjoyed watching and I think others will too <3

The sapphic vampire polycule of my dreams
This show is absolutely insane and I am in love with every second of it.From the roller-coaster ride of a story, to the incredible costumes, to the fast-paced editing and the frenetic camera-work, to the soundtrack, inexplicably littered with snippets of Beach Boys, Redbone, and Lord Huron songs - I love it all.
Yes, this show does pack a lot (and I really do mean a LOT) of story into a roughly thirty minute runtime, but personally I found the plot surprisingly coherent and easy to follow. The characters are all incredibly distinct and deeply endearing, which is no mean feat considering how little time there is to get to know them.
The calculated editing choices and the, as previously mentioned, eclectic soundtrack add together to produce a very distinctive style and lend the show a zany sort of charm which is reminiscent of other beloved Chinese dramas.
Throw in as much queer subtext as the censors (presumably) will let you get away with and you've got a clear recipe for success.
I could try to get you to watch this show by spending at least an hour dissecting the plot and ranting about how many little details are both significant and fascinating and hint at a much broader, more thought-out world that we only got a brief glimpse of during the show, but I don't think that'd work so let me put it this way instead:
If you like lesbians, vampires, vampire lesbians, Chinese dramas, or simply stories that take you on the emotional ride of your life, then this one is for you.
