Powerful plot. Solid & unique. Four-dimensional. An enrichment on the KDrama crime thriller market

A solid thriller, laid out across time and space. The fourth dimension has a hand in the investigation. There's a bit of magic involved too.

You can expect an suspenseful, opaque story with edgy characters - in particular a cheeky, blustering, stroppy anti-hero as male protagonist. As a writer he is ambitious but probably rather untalented. However, he is also someone who doesn't easily give in and doesn't like to be fooled. And there is this delicate, gifted, mysterious stranger crossing his path…

The criminal act and the perpetrator as such may seem rather familiar, sort of. But pretty much everything knitted around this crime is off the beaten track! With strong characters and powerful plot. An enrichment on the KDrama crime thriller market! With time and space becoming relative...

Great, underrated drama

This was such a great drama with quality writing, story, and acting. You just love and hate characters, you think about it, you enjoy every thrill and everytime you think you cannot be surprised, you just are. This is definitely one of the best dramas of 2023 and its a shame, that such drama has such low rating and not many watchers, just because it's not promoted as some other overrated dramas are... This is an absolute gem and if you love a good thriller with interesting characters, an original storyline and storytelling, and natural emotions, as the drama goes on.... please watch it and forget about ratings, that doesn't decide if the drama is good, or not.

Miraculous brothers is really a good drama , the story is unique I don't think I watched a kdrama like that, at first I didn't like the actors but I kept watching, the chemistry between the actors was getting better and I start feel them this drama make u think deep at every action and word , the drama represent the human being and how people can make mistakes and how to fix it , they show us if u have your principles that doesn't mean u always will be attached to it and follow the right pass, no we all make mistakes, take wrong passes but the moral is turning back and have conscience that hurts and scolds u at the same time if u lost your conscience and follow your desire, greed and anger u will be like the bad characters in the drama , and the most useful thing that I learned is " if taking the right decisions in some situations although it won't bring u any benefit but it will let your conscience in peace and finally u will have a good sleep " finally the amazing touch of fantasy"Kang sang superpower " it took the drama in a whole different direction really it was really good if u like fantasy, after watching much kdrama I was able to predict events in the drama but in this nooo I wasn't !!! So sad that it has low rating and little viewers but it make the drama a " a hidden gem " thank u for miraculous brothers 🙏

Must watch. Hidden gem. Emotional roller coaster.

Such an amazing drama. Enjoyed every minute of this. Feom 1st to last episode, it's roller coaster of emotions. All 3 lead actors who played LeeKangSan, LeeHaneul, and YookDongJu really did an amazing job. LeeKangSan is definitely visual material. I found myself more attracted to the actor who played LeeHaneul.🙈🙈. I should call him ajussi🤗. But no worries. And the one who played younger version of him was definitely a great choice. They somewhat resemble too.
The actor who played yukDongJu did his job well. But i was like, comparing to his father and mother combo, he is more like their adopted son😅. His father was super cute /handsome😉
LeeTaeMan was a scary psyco. But i feel like LeeMyeongSeok is going to be the worst vilian. The ending was definitely indicating season 2. I definitely going to wait for however much time it takes for season2..

Slow yet Enjoyable

Miraculous Brothers is a slow paced story about a murder and how 3 men get embroiled into the case spanning 17 years. The second mystery revolves around a teenager who seems to appear out of nowhere in front of the ML's car and can't remember anything about himself. They discover he has some special powers that allows him to see more than what others let on.

Both mysteries are good and overall plot is interesting with a satisfactory ending as long as you are patient. Even the bromance takes time to develop. Sometimes a few characters can feel annoying, eg. ML's mother, but one can look past it. Unlike plots of other shows where things get left out, the writers don't leave any plot holes with this one. Just don't watch this show because of the sci-fi element as it's not present throughout the show. Whenever it is there, it's enjoyable and I do wish we got a bit more of it at times. Miraculous Brothers has a bit of a Signal feel to it. But instead all the work is being done by ordinary citizens and the police is terrible at their job which can be frustrating to watch at times.

Apart from the pacing, I don't really have any complaints with the story. So if you feel the same at any point, just watch on 1.5x speed. That was the biggest drawback for me. While watching the finale episode at normal speed, I noticed that many of the characters, other than the main leads, would all talk slowly with unnaturally long gaps between their dialogues. It's not one particular character but way too many of them which is clearly the director's instruction to the actors. Because of which I wasn't sure if there would be enough time to cover everything but they did.

The ending seemed to tease the possibility of a second season or to just say that more adventures await. :)

Can't wait for season two

An amazing, well written murder mystery drama

A young man who has acting abilities that are incredible, the entire cast is perfect for the roles they play, the story is a combination of real life and the supernatural - but not in a way that would make you shake your head and say - ridiculous.

The series puts me in the mind of beyond evil, not that the stories are the same, but the suspense aspects, deep characters, things like that make them similar.

I was really moved with the last episode (no spoilers...lol)

The music was awesome as well. I can't even watch American TV anymore, it just cannot compare. (sadly)

Please give this series a try.

quality writing, engaging story, and stellar acting

Miraculous Brother is an exceptional Kdrama that effortlessly marries quality writing, an engaging story, and impressive acting. Nestled within the genres of Fantasy, Crime & Mystery, and Drama, this show weaves a captivating narrative that centers around the warmth of friendship and the depths of humanity, all while maintaining an air of enigmatic intrigue.

The allure of the mystery is what initially draws you in. The storyline is intricately crafted, playing with your curiosity like a skillful magician. As the layers of the mystery unfold, we're left both perplexed and exhilarated, eagerly piecing together the puzzle as the plot thickens.

The chemistry between the two lead actors is palpable, their performances resonating on a profound level. In a delightful twist, they become the heart of the investigation, eclipsing even the detectives with their determination and resourcefulness.

The drama's thematic brilliance shines brightly in its closing moments, encapsulated by the poignant last quotes: "Do I believe in miracles? Of course. I believe every ordinary day we spend and take for granted is actually a miracle." These words encapsulate the underlying essence of the drama – the magic of everyday existence and the small wonders we often overlook.

With its intriguing plot, masterful acting, and profound messages, it leaves an indelible mark. It's a drama that celebrates the extraordinary within the ordinary and invites us to recognize the miracles that surround us, even in the midst of mystery.

Miraculous Brothers is an interesting concept drama

Miraculous Brothers (2023)

Some Korean Devotees have wanted darker themed Korean Dramas. Each has her own taste. So many dark themed dramas have too much violence in it for me. However, I fell upon this little gem of a Korean Drama. Miraculous Brothers (2023), which is a Crime, Mystery, Fantasy Bromance. The Korean Drama Miraculous Brothers is not a run-of-the-mill story. The edgy dark lyrics of the pulsating drama music should give you a clue about that. Cinematography (especially camera angles) are eye-catching. This drama kept climbing higher and higher up my All-time List, with each episode. You really have to be patient with this one. Each layer has a unique surprise.

The story centers around the mystery surrounding a magnificently written “book” which explores man’s desires and the duality of good and evil. Who is the writer of this book titled ‘God is Dead’, and is this person of this world? Is this book a book of fiction or reality? The writer of Miraculous Brothers just gives away enough mystery, a little bit at a time, until he reveals the big picture. This keeps you fully engaged as a viewer. (The drama has no demonic content, even though the young man has more than human powers.)
The drama pace of Miraculous Brothers is immaculate. What I like most about this complicated drama is that at junctures along the way, you are given recaps of what you should have picked up from all the clues. So if you get lost you are put back on track. For my taste, this is a great drama.
There are two male protagonists in the Korean drama Miraculous Brothers. Are they monsters or saviors? There is a strong female lead character too. While the subject is about serial killings, the drama does not have gratuitous violence. There is some cursing. The rating, however, is mostly accounting for suicides being covered in some arcs in the story.

One of our main protagonists is a young man who appears to be not of this world. He can manipulate time and objects, but lost his memory when he was hit in a car accident. The other protagonist is a failed writer who is the driver of the car from the accident. His life is turned upside down as he tries to piece together clues as to who is this strange visitor.

Bae Hyun-sung (Dear M) and Jung Woo (Reply 1994)
Miraculous Brothers is in the vein of the great Korean Drama Signal, with a twist. Lots of Head Talk here.

Overall A Fantastic Drama Series

I finished this drama all 16 episodes in two days.
The story is brilliantly written and very well acted by all the cast.
The storyline is dark, tragic and heartbreaking, creating a very intense wave between people.
A gripping story of mystery, fantasy, intrigue and suspense are superbly blended. It had all the twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It also has great music score/OST.
One of the finest Kdrama series. A must watch if you love murder mystery. I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

Underrated, Thrilling supernatural crime show

I liked this series very much. There were none of those typical "filler scenes". Everything was important. I especially liked the special effects when Kang San uses his powers and the friendship between him and Dong Joo.
The plot is very typical for a Korean TV series. A sardistic antagonist, a big political corruption scandal, the police are useless at the beginning but the big hero at the end. The main characters harmonise well.
Overall, it was a very good thriller. For me, it is not a drama because there is no love story. The series was exciting and I think it has repeat potential.
Careful: spoilers!

The only criticism for me is Myung Seok. He was at a crossroad when he planted the wiretap. I would have liked to see the betrayal of this family. Because now he has exploited the weakness of his brothers for his own selfish goal. That, to me, is typical of Koean television. I liked the idea of him getting on the good side and staying with Dong Joo and Kang San.

My rating of this drama is me being generous.

It took me a little over two months to actually finish this!! It was so drawn out that I forgot that I was still watching one episode. There were times when I thought I had finished 3 or 4 episodes but I was still on the same episode I had stopped watching.

For me, by the 5th episode if is doesn't grab me I will drop it but I've hit another Korean drama slump. I was hoping to be able to have about 4 or 5 dramas under my belt but alas, this was the only one and I don't have any other Korean dramas to watch.

There were no character development in any of the actors. The mood stayed the same. The female cop was my least favorite. She was annoying from beginning to the end. The things she was doing should've gotten her fired but they didn't.

To me, there was no reason why the second male lead should've had powers. You won't learn how he came into his powers until the 15th episode and it's a really really weak excuse.

You then have the main male lead experience a weird pheonmenon but it wasn't capitalized. It was 'oh my hands are vibrating...oh well,..' and that was it. To add to that, when the second male lead exhibited his skills around the best friend and the female cop they were non-chalant about it.

The revenge factor was sloppy. I thought the situation of coming from the past and staying in the future instead of going back to the past was going to get covered...It didn't.

There were a lot of loose ends that had no closure. This is the type of drama that I hate and I have run into a few dramas like this which is why I'm still in that friggin' Korean drama slump.

Time slipped but the drama didn't... too much.

Oct 2023
I love the plot; not the usual time travel, but a time slip.
Bae Hyun-sung is so good in his lead role as character Kang-san, who ends up worlds away from his original life. The emotions this relatively young actor is able to convey with his eyes, is exactly what makes his character so watchable and believable. Gentle, kind and pretty adorable. He never abuses the changes in himself either, but hangs on to his good nature.
Jung Woo is also good as a struggling writer with principles (Dong-joo), but living a life that pushes them to their limit. He has a sometimes abrasive exterior, but is really quite mushy inside.
Supporting characters/actors are interesting; from family, to friends, law enforcement and the villains living in wealth, but also the shadow of their past.
It started really strong and grabbed my attention, but as the drama neared its mid-way eps, I found the story somewhat laboured. Old ground was covered too often and so regardless of whether the angle from which an event was seen, was different, it wasn't different enough and didn't really impact the story sufficiently.
Then, as the final episodes rolled out, the pace picked up quite sharply again and it was really good.
I liked how Dong-joo's relationships/ friendships changed, but felt the way his character was written to behave in certain situations, sometimes went against his personality, seemingly to drive the story forward. He could be so incredibly selfish, yet at other times too much the opposite. Overall he made for an entertaining character.
Hyeon-soo, a MC and police officer, I often found infuriatingly arrogant in her assumptions that she was right about stuff. I found her character lacked substance. The actress (Park Yoo-rim) was OK, but didn't really seem to 'be' the part.
The police team were woefully blind to the obvious clues that someone in their ranks was 'off', even when they suspected a leak and clues had become glaringly obvious. Frustrating!
I loved DJ's best friend, Yong-dae, who never judged and was such a supportive and understanding friend; and Mal-geum, who is linked to KS's past (how their interaction was portrayed in the present day, I found touching, poignant and really quite sad).
I never liked Myung-seok, but assume he was a better person than I thought, with his motives being to change things (I hope).
Loved Oh Man-suk as Kai, too. He was SO cool.
It's cleverly done, how the connections between the characters come together and there is a fair amount of tragedy.
An extremely dark and upsetting secret is also revealed at the end, which may be too much for some (refer to 'Tags' for the drama).
