At the end of the Warring States period, Taro Hiwa, who lived in Dainichi in the Kii Mountains, lived in peace with his father. Taro was often deceived by the merchants in the village. Each time he was covered by the daughter of Kusuke Sakeya, Omitsu. On his way home one day, he encounters the guest of the land lord Kyuemon Nagata. After returning to the mountains, Taro says he wants to be a samurai. Taro descends the mountain and he becomes a subordinate of Hachisuka Masakatsu, the head of the field samurai. However, Koroku came to the village at the behest of Mino's Saito Dosan to kidnap Ayahime, the last bloodline of the Nagai family. After getting Ayahime, Koroku takes Taro and heads for Mino by sea. However, Dosan entrusted the disposal of Ayahime to the sword monster, Skull Maru. Seeing Ayahime trembling with fear and anxiety, Taro thinks of a way to help her.
