It consists of two parts: the first part (up to episode 13) depicts boyhood, and the second part (after episode 14) depicts adulthood. Part 1: Mr. Suzuki, the owner of Oshu Smoke Gokujo Castle, is murdered by his former vassal, Smoke Maru. Smoke Gakujo Castle is hijacked by Smoke Maru. Kokushi's child, Koroku, learns the art of Fujin from Gale Nosuke. He uses the art of Fujin and fights for the reconstruction of the Smoke Castle.
