Both are slow burn japanese movies about two guys becoming unexpectedly close. Theres lots of underlying tension, frustration, longing/yearning, secret crushing in both and a similar kind of gloomy atmosphere.

More than words is drama but both r Gloomy,sad, emotional n realistic with similar ambience n many flawed characters with satisfactory ending.

Both of these series revolve around story. most "BLs" are just romanced based and have no deeper depth than just romance but these two are some of my favorite queer stories to ever be made. They touch on the realistic love that queer men have with each other. what I took from both of these stories is that love is not just physical intimacy, its emotional intimacy.

They both have son and father relationships

The mains question their sexuality but feel they need to be closeted because they are scared.
