It feels like the survival monster story plot took a backseat to some emotional bulls*it...

Worst of the 3 seasons for sure.

They sacrificed a lot of time they could have spent focusing on defeating the monster threat and developing the strongest characters survival stories stalling with other filler nonsense. They also sacrificed time they could have spent explaining and showcasing the various types of infectees strengths and weaknesses, to instead focus SO MUCH time on pointless emotional character expositions and discussing or portraying relationships that were barely existent/non existent in the first 2 seasons. I assume they were trying to focus on pulling viewer heart strings or some nonsense like that, but I felt nothing for anyone by the end, not even the 'victory' for the leads felt good.

They also sacrificed a lot of time for some very, very pointless dialogue and trying to make the neo human/leads look 'cool' and act very smooth and collected and exchange 'cool' lines and looks at each other at the most ridiculous times, interrupting the pacing of the series in many places, and their attitudes contradicting everything previously felt about those particular characters struggles. Also, many loose ends were not even remotely addressed, there was no actual showdown between the main threat and the leads at the end (major cop out and waste of all that CGI) and all the wrong lead characters died while some really useless ones survived.
Anyway:

The GOOD:
- The acting and casting.
- 90% of the CGI.
- The fight scenes.

The BAD:
- The plot. Total waste of the previous two seasons. Very, very weak wrap up.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lee Si Young was excellent as always (they wasted her appearance in S03 completely, might as well have killed her off in S02)
- The soldiers never failed to be interesting characters in S02 and S03, they also served more purpose and carried more weight in the story than the leads in S03.
- Hyun Su looked pretty neat with neon blue eyes.

Season 3 was the furthest removed from S01 imo, they took this in a different direction in a bad way, it didn't match the intensity, energy and fast paced action of the first two seasons which made engaging with the content and being invested in the characters survival feel very blah.
Over all season 3 was a let down for me.

Because S03 is such a let down and S02 will leave you expecting a third season, which will disappoint you, I'd suggest people just don't watch past S01, because S01 can actually be considered stand alone just fine and it was excellent.

Closure, but it's unmemorable

I thought Season 1 was generally enjoyable, and Season 2 was also interesting, but had a little too many subplots and random characters. Season 3 fixes that by once again focusing on the most important character (Hyun-su) but doesn't give him much to do.

I'm really glad Hyun-su got more screentime in this season, especially with Eun-yu and Eun-hyeok, because these three were and still are the most important and most intriguing characters, but plot-wise, these three were pretty underutilized. I think the issue is, firstly, just not being quite sure what the end goal is. We know generally that they're on a crash course towards the antagonist, but I didn't really understand what the plan was. And secondly, between this season and the previous season, there's a pretty big shift away from individual stories and showing what triggers monsterization and how they should be dealt with. I get that it's difficult to do this once you've scaled up the story and there are so many arcs to address, but the unfortunate trade-off is that nothing quite sticks.

I personally liked the ending

I am not going to review the series as a whole, as other reviews have already covered it well. What I will say is that I liked the ending. It gave me The Walking Dead ending vibes, in that they didn't miraculously cure monsterisation or cure/kill everybody who had already turned. The ending also gives us the possibility that we could see Sweet Home again in the future, after Song Kang's military service, should everybody wish to continue. We could see a mega final battle between the humans and neohumans vs. the monsters. That would be pretty cool.

Better than S1 and S2

If i’m being honest, amongst the other seasons, this one by far was the most interesting one to me. Plotwise and actionwise, it was very entertaining and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they did better than some shows would when they make a third season.

Though I think there were many unnecessary deaths (won’t spoil who but I mean..most deaths that happened were pretty predictable and stupid)

And yes I liked this season better but only plotwise. Everything else seemed to remain the same, acting wasn’t all that better and the monsters are still goofy looking, I don’t know- they’re supposed to be scary but they just look incredibly funny and so very obviously fake. And I guess that won’t ever change because the whole point of this show is people turning into all kinds of monsters.

The ending was a bit confusing imo, I have no idea how Hyunsu ended up bringing back that little kid from monsterazation when he was literally goo???

And if it’s been revealed that monsters can be reborn and turn into neohumans, why couldn’t Yisu do the same? I thought she’s already neohuman so she couldn’t die— actually I don’t really remember what happened with her in the end but I doubt she actually died…Yeah, the ending was a little too vague for me.

Overall it was pretty entertaining though and action this season was neat. Lots of unnecessary deaths but I guess for the sake of shock value they had to do something.

Much improved from season 2

Much like many people who watched the entire season, I was hooked like no other after season 1. The way they were all stuck in a small space and the dynamics between all of the characters were very well done, it felt like they explored the side characters as well as the main characters which I appreciated. They continue to do this throughout all of the seasons which I really like in a show, especially seeing them grow (if they don't die first).
The amount of deaths is actually ridiculous, but I had a love-hate relationship with it. It was sad to see so many people I adored go, but it would make no sense to have everyone live until the end. It would have nullified the stakes and made it easy to predict in that way. It did, however, do the opposite...After a while I was certain that almost nobody would make it, you could just feel that they were going to either kill or monsterize almost everyone the audience grew attached to except for the "main main" players (and even some of those!!).

Definitely much better than season 2 since it leaned back into the monster-verse of it all while incorporating less of the military (still included, but more intertwined) which I wasn't as interested in. Everything felt much more connected, and I found it very easy to watch all at once. Acting was great, especially Song Kang! Hyun Su's growth as a character is really cool to see in comparison to the first season. Absolutely loved the dynamic between Hyun Su and Eun-Hyuk. It was very similar to the first season, but different enough considering the change in their characters. The way they bicker (kind of like brothers in some instances) really made me feel warm and fuzzy because it was a happy circle back to season 1.

I simultaneously liked and disliked the final battle scene with Nam Sang Won. It felt less like a physical battle to see who was strong, but more of a mental one. I think it makes sense though considering that's what the entire series is about if you think about it. It was just a little surprising since there was constant talk about who was stronger. Ends up having a really cool interpretation because you could say that, due to Sang Wook coming back and actually putting an end to Sang won, humans are actually the strongest. Very cool way to think about it.

Eun-yu made me sad though. I was really looking forward to seeing Hyun Su have somebody he could actually hold onto considering he's lost so much, as have all of them. Eun-yu came so far in the way she cared for people and put others before herself as opposed to season 1, so to kind of see that go down the drain was a little disappointing. There was the assumption that she would get there though, considering Eun- Hyuk did, so it's not too bad, I just would have liked to see it myself.

Overall, I would 100% watch the series if I hadn't watched it before, and I would probably rewatch season 1 (as I have already while waiting for season 2), but not the rest of the seasons. If you see the ending of the series once, that's really all you need, but I'd say it's worth it to get there.
Watching the ending was bittersweet, but the beginning is always a ride.

The best thing I've ever seen

I strongly hope there will be a fourth season of 'Sweet Home'. This series was amazing in every sense of the word, and I believe many share the same desire. I loved the story indescribably, and the development of characters and events was extremely engaging. My rating for the series is definitely 10/10, or even 100000/10! However, the ending did not convince me. Therefore, I think a fourth season is necessary to complete the story satisfactorily. The series managed to blend suspense, horror, and drama skillfully, and I hope this thrilling journey continues in a new season🔪🔪.
The events are not complete, it is unfortunate that there is no another season 💔.

I really enjoyed watching

the plot made me want to watch more and more to discover the mysteries, terrors and surprises present in the story. For those with agony or hypersensitivity, it's a bit hard to watch, with many disgusting and perhaps violent scenes (but nothing that's impossible to watch). Something that is noticeable throughout the seasons is the change in our divo Song Kang (Hyun-su), although the series has short periods of time between one season and the next, the change is noticeable.

The first season was the weakest in terms of content, but good nonetheless. It established the beginning of terror on earth, called "monsters" at the time. And yes, I'm still obsessed with Lee Do-hyun (Lee Eun-hyuk) and I love his characters, who are mostly caucasian and intelligent, which is strangely attractive. In summary, the first season focused on the act of survival, having to eliminate the contaminated and take refuge from the uncontaminated.
The second season was well-developed, bringing together some of the points from the first, but it also had plot twists. Furthermore, what was absurdly incredible was the privilege of seeing that iconic scene of Hyun-su (if you know what I mean....), plus the collective outbreak came when the battalion of g0st0s0s soldiers invaded the scene, it was the apex that is elite my friends, that's when I became Maria Battalion, lol. Ah, I liked the new character who transforms people, she was necessary and gave a new air to the plot, and being the possible consequence and solution in the final season. For these reasons

a blabble

at ending was so bland for a horror series, it wasn’t good at all. I would of wanted to of seen a key moment when the humans accept hyun-su as a monster, he was neglected the whole series, a scene where they show the moment the humans give in to him would not only be very good for my heart but also be a tear-jerker and such a lovely scene, i really think they should of added that instead of js clipping to a scene where he is suddenly accepted by everyone. The ending was clearly rushed and not tly thought through in my eyes + to me that ending was more of a ending to a romantic kdrama than a horror, it was lovely to see hyun-su genuinely smile but i would rather he be with everyone, like a community as he was so lonely and it js being the 3 of them kinda disappointed me.. ANYWAY SORRY FOR THE BLABBLE

Sweet home season 3

Well there is still a little nudity, it is maybe a little more brutal than season two and there is more death for characters from season one and well no one stays human.
Song Kang's perfect long hair will be gone, but in exchange we have his blue eyes, still happy about it. Yes, chemistry between him and Go MinSi is still killing me - I would love if they made them official but what we got is still satisfying enough, especially when it is not a romance type of drama.
We have Lee Do Hyun's character back. And suprising a happy ending ( a little open ending but in my opinion still a happy one).
Would I like if it had more seasons? Probably yes. Do I like how it ends? Yes.
If I had to rank seasons it would be season 3 = season 1 > season 2, but still for me every season is as much good so they have exactly the same rating: 9/10.

Good, yet a tad rushed

To be honest, this series will always have a special place in my heart, considering the manwha it is one of my favs and has been my 2nd ever drama I have seen. Song Kang brings well the MC, and the monster side is a delight.
The 3rd, and final season was good. I was happy that most of the platoon lived alongside Sargent KIM.
THE antagonist actor did a great job, yet his greed and selfish side brought his doom, considering he used all as his pawns.
The bickering between Cha Hyeon Su and Lee Eun Hyeok was gold, even if one was special infected and the other a neohuman.
Pity they made the FL go through the monsterization, but she has found her place and her brother and one she loved being near, helping her regain her emotions.
In the end, not all could come back (the many characters that died old or new), but those who could, each will wait for.
A bittersweet ending to this beautiful horror trilogy.
Yes, it was a rushed ending and a lot of things still could be shown, but overall I liked it.
the OST could been better too:)))
A bit late for the review, but now I had the free time.
