Chaotic and Fun Rom Com

I was really excited to watch this movie and was lucky that it was showing near me with eng subs and it did not disappoint. The first half of the movie you see the couple bickering and describing how much they hate each other. It was so chaotic and funny, especially the way kang ha neul and jung so min deliver their lines. Jung so min's character could be a lot harsher and at times, I was like why is she so mean, but I could also understand her character. The second half was just as enjoyable as you watch them try not to fall back in love with each other.

I think the way the story unfolded was really well done. You could see how this once happily married couple got to the point of hating each other by allowing all the bad memories overtake their good ones.

If you enjoy rom coms, you will love this one. The acting as you all already know delivered because it's kang ha neul and jung so min. Even the supporting actors were great. I thought the one who played jung so min's sister did a great job, I had only seen her in Duty After School as I think she's still a relatively new actress but she was funny. I laughed out loud so many times as did the audience in the theater. It was a rom com in it's true form.

10/10 will watch again

I haven't watched many Kmovies but I have watched many Kdrama. I should say that this movie is hilarious, very very funny. The joke is so fast and unexpected. The camera angle is so good.

In my perspective, Kdramas nature are switching between funny and serious but usually slow and dragging the story. For example Alchemy of Souls, business proposal, moving, 2521, etc.

But in this movie (because it's a movie too - 2 hours compared to 16-20 episodes of Kdrama) the story and joke is very fast and very often, and very chaotic. I'm enjoying it very much, I laughed so hard. Very worth watching, you will forget the real world you are living in that 2 hours.

I admitted that I'm Jung Somin's fan and I watched it because of that, but also credit to main actor, Kang Haneul. His acting and facial expression is as good as Jung Somin, what a perfect chemistry lol.

If you are Jung Somin's fan. YOU MUST WATCH THIS. Her acting are absolutely on point as always, and she's very HOT in this movie omg, I love her since BTIMFL then AOS but this movie makes me fall in love with her again. Her looks in this show is my most favorite compared to AOS, BTIMFL, Montly magazine, etc.

The reason I give 10/10 because I still don't have any point to complain. I will watch again for sure.

Thanks for nothing...

I don’t really get why people are so hyped over this movie and why it has so many positive reviews. I was too before I watched it but the more I think about it, the more frustrated I feel. Not just because it’s disappointing, it also gives us nothing of real value (except for Kang Ha Neul’s and Jung So Min’s performance maybe). This review contains spoiler so let’s begin!

Story 4/10
Not just the cast of this movie caught my interest but also the premise. It sounded very interesting and I still think it had a lot of potential. That being said, you start to notice something is off right off the bat when the movie starts with our female lead calling off her wedding (or rather leaving her husband-to-be at the altar I guess? What a nice thing to do already!) on the day of the wedding while the male lead is being miserable (and not doing anything about it). And I know it’s used for comedic purpose but other than that (aside from not really being funny or entertaining) it provides NOTHING for the audience – we don’t even get a context for it. There was no real purpose for her having another wedding before except 1.) so her other wedding would be smaller and 2.) maybe showing that she’s not capable of marriage. Because let’s be honest… If you take the step to get married and call it off – run away - on the day of your wedding for someone else, almost on a whim, that’s not a good sign. But there was no real reason this story needed this other wedding (Jung So Min looks beautiful in that dress but it’s not a good writing choice. Then just have her wear it at her one and only wedding). The humor from the rest of the movie was mostly funny (not everything) but I had my fair share of laughs. So in this regard it’s not horrible but it might be in any other aspect.

I’m not even mad they exaggerated the hate they started to feel for each other… No, actually I am mad about it because I don’t know what’s funny about them wanting to kill each other (literally and I’m not making it up). It’s also a little disgusting and intellectually undemanding to be honest. Like I knew what I was getting myself into but then I watched this and felt like… There’s no way these people would have been married in real life with how they hated each other. Because not even in the beginning when she ditched her first fiance (whom we never saw) did it seem like they really cared/loved each other. Just make it seem like they had a relationship and cared for one another before that. Give us a reason why they wanted to stay together for the rest of their lives. And the message of this story is also kind of mixed but I’ll get to that in a moment. And then they both lose their memories due to an accident which might be cliché but I was hoping for something with a little depth while still using some comedic relief. But instead of growing as people or as a couple it was just a bunch of awkwardness, meddling families and physical aspects. How it ended must be one of the most stupid endings I’ve ever seen in K-Drama history. Yes, give them their cliché of the male lead running after her to the airport scene but ha ha ha, wait. Mess it up by having the male lead giving a monologue, talking about his deep feelings, just for the female lead to wear earphones and not hearing a single word he said. I’m sorry, but you can’t tell me if a person you are supposed to love follows you to the airport you’d let your earphones in instead of listening to what the person has to say. That’s not funny but sad and stupid at the same time. And that’s what’s wrong with this movie. No, they don’t work on more open communication. No, they don’t try to accept each other with their flaws while actively working on themselves and their marriage. This is not a romance story. It’s a lovers-to-enemy trope until the very end. With nothing good to take away from it (except for the fact they got amazing actors for this).

Characters 3/10
Something else that’s insufferable. None of these characters (!) None (!) Has any redeeming quality whatsoever. I get that nobody is perfect. But the female lead is outright crazy and the male lead is rather useless (and I hate to use this word because I think no person really is. But seems like you can write them this way). Also both of them are horrible spouses. And yes, that’s the entire purpose of the movie but you don’t see any character development, no growth, nothing. The only aspect that changes throughout the movie is their memory loss but the writer doesn’t do anything with it but decides to limit marriage to physical components instead. Wow. I personally feel like the actors had a good natural chemistry but it was completely destroyed by the way their characters were written. They were toxic at the start and toxic at the end. On top of that they hinted at both of them cheating on each other but then never brought it up again like this is nothing. Honestly, I think they should stick with their divorce if they both don’t value their relationship more. Also maybe the scene at the end was a reflection of the first scene when he promised to come for her next time and that’s what they did but if they wanted to do a call-back to it they should have done a better job. I don’t like any of the characters. I love the actors but it’s rare to find so awfully written characters.

Overall/Enjoyment 5/10
Actually I think 5 is too generous for this movie but the acting was good and also the humor was decent for most of the time. Especially from some of the side characters. Given what they had to work with they did a good job. I normally love the Korean over the top humor but not if it’s mixed with this seemingly new trend to include jokes or lines that seem to be adapted from western shows/movies (like it seems to be the trend with some K-Dramas nowadays). I don’t get it… Korean shows and movies are so popular and great for a reason. I don’t know why they try to make it like a stereotypical American show or movie. The irony is that I feel like they tried to make something similar to the movie “Just Married” with Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher which somehow worked better back in 2003 when it was released. But I kind of expected and hoped for something closer to the series “Go Back Couple” except it’s not a time travel but they lose their memories and start to fall in love with each other again while working on their issues. Together. If they would learn something along the way and learn from their mistakes to improve their marriage it could still have had some jokes and comedic relief in it while giving us something valuable. When I heard this movie would come out I was really excited. Maybe too much since I expected and hoped for more than we got. Personally I don’t get why this movie is already so popular and high-ranked when it’s nothing but disgrace to all the movies/shows that did a better job at portraying marriage isn’t always easy and you have to work hard to make it work. This just sends the opposite message as if it doesn’t matter. And even if many people will disagree with my statement I’ll stick with it that overall it’s bad movie. Not the worst I’ve ever watched but nothing compared to the usual Korean standards.

Disappointing

Considering all the hype surrounding this film, I was expecting to find a top notch romantic comedy about a couple getting a second chance at love. Instead what I got was the most generic and predictable story that was at times funny but mostly plain boring. I had a really hard time connecting with the characters and, worse, understanding why they should get back together at all. Yes, relationships are difficult, love it's not enough, and those involved need to put the work but this was never properly developed through the excruciating two hours film.

The acting is okay, mostly coming from supporting characters because it can't be from the leads. I am baffled as people seems to think Jung So Min and Kang Ha Neul give great performances when I have seen them do 100 times better, in the same genre, than what they delivered in this film. Personally, I don't think they are the problem. The cast was perfectly selected for each role, I would argue this film suffers from its director or scriptwriter. Maybe both.

It makes me sad to say this but Love Reset was not worth it.

Freaking hilarious

To describe in one word this was so chaotic and freaking hilarious....
From the name I thought there will be some time travel thing and they will fall in love again. But no this was way more chaotic...
I especially loved the sister's character, it was so unique..
The moment u thnk that "oh I know what will happen next" this proves you wrong..
Gave me very much needed laughter.....
Definitely recommend.......
I'll watch it again for sure when I need a good laugh. Very funny and refreshing

Soooo good ! Their chemistry is lit ?

usually don't go around writing reviews, but man, this movie? It's a solid 10 on my scale (and trust me, I'm a tough critic - nothing ever gets a perfect 10 in my book except for this).

So, I walked into the theater with zero expectations, right? But this film turned out to be an absolute riot, way beyond what I thought it would be. I lost count of how many times I busted out laughing, and it wasn't just me - the whole theater was in stitches. The story threw some curveballs that I never saw coming, and the creativity in those unexpected moments? Genius.

Let's talk about the main cast, Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min - they killed it. The chemistry between them? Off the charts. And the other folks in the cast weren't slouching either - everyone held their own. Big shoutout to the director and the writers, too - they nailed it.

If you're in the mood for a good laugh and a dash of romance, seriously, check this one out. And get this - I'm usually all about horror, but even with that background, I can vouch for this film. It's like a universal crowd-pleaser, breaking through genres and giving you the perfect mix of humor and romance. Don't miss it!

romCOMEDY

if this was a comedy movie without the rom, i will gladly accept it as a masterpiece because it was funny as helll. but thenn the plot was meh, there were no characters development whatsoever, and i still don't understand why in the world they fell in love again. what were the moments that outweighed the bad memories? like...they showed how they met and how they date. that's it? mere physical attractions and 'love at first sight' thing are not big enough for me to outweigh the fact that they were NOT COMPATIBLE at ALL as a married couple.

plus, the fl character was sooo not it. i was sooo annoyed at how crazy she was. like all the bad or gross things that the ml did was reasonable (except for the cheating part ofc) and it was nothing compared to what the fl did. her personality boils me. and the ml's mother was also annoying as helll.

but the good part is the acting were phenomenal. kang haneul, jung so min and everyone in it really outdid themselves. i just didn't like how the characters were written. i liked how cool were the fl's mother in this, and how loving she was towards her daughters. i could feel her unconditional love as a mother. i also liked the bromance between ml and his friends. i found it very cute and funny haha. liked the comedy, i laughed way too hard watching this. and the cinematography experience were satisfying too. i like how the comedic editing works, the transition and the comedic pans. chef's kiss, kudos to the director. i would say this film is a very well directed comedy piece.

last but not least, i think this movie will be better if they divorced at the end. comically.

Unexpected quirky

I keep complaining about news articles on MDL homepage and how redundant they are but today one such article led me here! I saw that the main actress recently starred in a romcom movie and while scrolling down the movie page I came upon the link and the rest is, as they say, history! This was just what I needed one cold autumn sunday evening!

I am not particularly fan of either stars of the movie but I actually enjoyed their chemistry and comic timing here.

The story is nothing new! Two young people from completely opposite walks of life, meet, fall in love, get married and then start hating each other with a vengeance until they file for divorce. On the way from courthouse they get into accident and, first surprise, end up with amnesia. Both of them! In order to get their memories back, they start living together again chaperoned by her sister who has to do everything in her power to keep them apart. To no awail: they fall in love again!

The movie is fast, funny (though not hilarious in my book: too much slapstick!). Some events are a "must" in a romcom but they managed to find a novel way in presenting the outcome: rich parents vs. poor son-in-law; airport confession etc. Both main characters have quirky and supportive friends. While his parents, especially the mother, is a cliché chip-on-the-shoulder type, her parents are colourful and funny. Her sister is the quirkiest of the lot, dead pan funny. Last but not least, my favourite support character was the hospital shrink using dramas to explain the amnesia.

The only complaint I have is about the editing: the constant going back and forth, past and present, flashbacks out of timeline...that was a bit tiring to follow. Not impossible of course but confusing sometimes!

This is the kind of movie one can watch over and over again, it is light, not too serious, it's a high quality romcom and it delivers the goods!

Love it!

Lighthearted, funny, and have good lessons about relationships and married life. One of those you'll definitely watch again and again every year.

Love reset? Love it!

Do not skip this one, especially if you're a couple. It doesn't matter if you're in a good relationship or you're going through hardships, just watch it because it will help you both.

And for those who went through a break-up or a divorce, it'll make you realise what went wrong, and hopefully we learn from it so we won't make the same mistake again.

One Where Amnesia is the Main Character

With all the Korean movies floating around on the internet, this one was a hilarious ride to be on. Relying heavyly on the comedy aspect, this romCOMEDY would have you laughing out loud at multiple scenes while also, looking forward as the couple approaches the (D-)Divorce Day. Here's an overview of my thoughts:
1. Plot (7/10)- A kind of generic plot and yet, executed in a manner that leaves you laughing and taking screen recordings?? Yup, this one's got the memo. Perfect for a guilty pleasure watch, this movie would have you recommending it to your friends as well.
2. Cinematography (7.5/10)- With a beam of colourful backgrounds, the movie flashes back and forth through timelines to cast the viewers on the updates of the couple's lives.
3. Music (8.5/10)- The songs flashing throughout the movie were wonderfully recorded and executed, with some making the viewers giggle while the others evoking a sense of romance.

Most Memorable Scenes: With having just completed the movie, here are my top three most memorable scenes from the movie:
1. The (most HILARIOUS) accident that inevitably leads to the amnesia wherein the couple loose their memories of each other (as well as all the people around them).
2. The confession made by the male lead towards the end of the movie (but oh wait, the female lead didn't hear anything though because she was waring noise cancelling earbuds).
3. Their first date as a couple who have now lost their memories.

The Beauty of “Love Reset”: Well, the beauty of "Love Reset" lies in it's portrayal of how we should not let the bad memories overpower the happy ones. The movie shows how, sometimes, giving something a second chance can also turn out to be beautiful.

You'll Enjoy This If...: If you enjoy movies that have a sense of lightheartedness and would be perfect for a romCOMEDY watch-party with your friends, "Love Reset" has got your back!

xx

watched it for Jung So Min at first, but in the end I loved everything about it

Love Reset is a delightful romcom that had me laughing from start to finish. The movie cleverly embraces cliché scenes and over-exaggerated acting, creating a humorous atmosphere. The comedic timing in the film is spot-on, and it effectively balances the dramatic and comedic elements in its storytelling. The film delves into their past relationship, exploring the reasons behind their decision to divorce and the challenges they face in rediscovering their love for each other. Themes of forgiveness, second chances, and the importance of communication in relationships are skillfully woven into the narrative. What I appreciated most about Love Reset is that it stays true to its genre, delivering a lighthearted and fun experience. While it touches on the complexities of marriage and the pursuit of second chances in love, it never loses its light and enjoyable tone.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed watching "Love Reset" and would give it an 8/10 rating. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feel-good romcom that will leave you with a smile on your face.
