Seventeen-year-old Hagi discovers that his father is having an extramarital affair and that he shares a house with the other woman. Hagi decides to visit the mysterious woman and put an end to the adultery, but it turns out to be harder than he thought. In between feelgood and drama, this beautifully acted movie tells a story that might feel very familiar, but luckily The Other Home never takes the beaten path and young director Nishikawa Tatsuro manages to keep all the different elements in perfect balance.
