Gourmet (2008)

it's almost the same storyline and even the characters' names are the same

Well it's practically the same thing, the only difference is that one is a movie and the other a Drama.

Gourmet is the TV series version of LeGrandChef movie

Both are about cooking competitions which are shown beautifully

Both are about a man who deals with food, and has to go through different trials and tests to make his dream happen.

Both is something to do for cooking for the rich and powerful people. Royal family. Both young lead are natural and talented in cooking. They experience suppression, poverty, down to earth and rise to success and recognizable

i do find it similar because of the 4 main character and the story are somewhat same and they both have teacher and competition...

I should say "liking so far" as Fermentation Family still has about 1/2 way to go...But if you are watching and liking this drama you might like Gourmet. Both center around a family that owns a restaurant as well as the theme of keeping to Korea's food traditions. Lots of food is featured in both.
