remember: turn off brain before watching, & you're in for the SWEETEST effin treat <3

look, the 'plot' was a hot fucking mess, & if i think for more than THREE SECONDS about the fact that (very vague, but nevertheless 'spoilers' ahead:)
they literally tried to redeem this one character that was practically a silent accomplice in a horrible crime against a poor girl, i WILL fucking scream, but if you also DON'T think about that,

the show is adorable enough to hurt your cheeks because fo smiling too much & make your goddamn teeth rot because it's so sweet.
it really is the textbook definition of a comfort show, the chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS, & the entire cast of characters is super lovable & easy to root for.
if you're into mindless fluff-fests & / or are having a bad day, give this one a go & you won't regret it <3

An Office Romance like many others, but still worth the watch!

Though A Boss and a Babe doesn’t really do anything innovative in terms of office romances, the stand out factor really was ForceBook’s chemistry, as well as Book’s commitment to really bringing Cher to life. I went into this not expecting much at all, but this quickly became a comfort show for me and I can see why ForceBook were given another chance after Enchante. I would recommend this to anyone who is missing GAP the series or wants a low-stakes feel good series. I’m excited to see what comes next

This is a drama for those who came here for lighthearted entertainment.
After a long time I have watched a drama that did not leave me exasperated either at the plot or acting. The drama runs quite smoothly. The lines and acting between Cher and Gun runs quite effortlessly and I love seeing the chemistry between these two. Both the actors have pulled off their roles as the mouthy, talkative but thoughtful Cher, and the serious, sensitive Gun, quite convincingly. Plot itself runs smoothly, no cringe scenes, no cringe acting, any misunderstandings do not last long, and the relationship works on mutual trust, communication and respect. Altogether a light hearted entertaining romance.

This is for those who love cute and fluffy yet serious Bl

I haven't written a review in a long time for a Bl series but this one got me hooked. A Boss and his babe is deserving of all praises and accolades that it has received and more

Plot: This Bl series follows the life of an intern student Cher and his office Boss Gun. It's the story of their growing budding romance as they deal with issue from the past and present bordering friendship, love, death, mental and health disorders and so forth. This is simply the cute story of a Boss whose heart was broken and an intern who hasn't recovered from the death of his friend.
Why this might sound easy to understand the plot is rather more complicated as it draws its story not just from Cher and Gun but also from associates, family members and friends.

ROMANCE: In the series Cher is not sure of his feelings for Gun,Gun is confident of winning him however. The two main character exhibit a type of chemistry one sees in cute and mature series. There's serious talks on being gay, understanding your friends when they're down or moody, fighting for one's right, there's even the funny scene in which Cher protests over the delay in signing the equality marriage act which will enable LGBTQ to be officially recognized in Thailand, there's no time for dallying over ex boyfriends or girlfriends; no silly Bl breakup or quarrel over useless misunderstandings , every single statement they make leads to the further advancement of their relationship. Gun and Cher has also developed the new method of conveying emotions and feelings by laying down on each other's laps and shoulders, winking and of course facial expressions. There's no toxicity and no forced scene everything is moving gently but quickly to a progressive end

There's no doubt that of all currently airing Thai Bl series if not all Bl series currently airing that a Boss and his babe is the most plot wise and solid offering us succor in a time when most Thai Bl series now emphasize the bed and not the relationship.
If the series maintain its current trajectory it's going to be one of the best GMMTV has ever released

A boss and a babe review

My name is jimmy i am 29 and i am from the uk. I have been watching bl for 7 years now and this one is brilliant i love it. It is not perfect and it is not bad it really is a amazing story however there are just 2 issues i have with it. Its nothing to do with the actors or the story itself its to do with the bl episode time itss all weird time the episode is not on long enough, you play on youtube part 1 13 min part 2 9 min part 3 9 min part 4 14 min. The second issue with it is that on those parts 4 min is advert of the next episode or a really long song that takes from the episode itself. You should keep a consistant time of 15 min per part because we need more time in watching, its way to short we really need more of it to watch. I am not saying the bl is bad because it really is amazing to watch the story and the cast of it play there role so well it is believable, and the story paints a big picture for other young lgbtq, it gives them hope and a sense of your not alone it teaches us morals and values. Please keep up the work very insperational just please fix the timing issue and it will be almost perfect. Thankyou jimmy

Really Good in the Beginning, eh by the End

Force and Book are back on our screen after the disastrous Enchante that graced our screen in 2022. I'd like to start off with the fact that I saw growth, and that's the most important thing. But I would also like to state that for whatever reason, Force and Book still don't do it for me. It's like they would give me an inch, and then 10 minutes later, we fell five steps back. I'll explain that one more later, but for now, A Boss and A Babe was the somewhat redeeming series that this up-and-coming GMMTV couple needed.

Let's Dive In.

So A Boss and A Babe is a story about a CEO and an intern falling in love with a few more, low-key not important details. This series really is just a cutesy, no-real-problems-are-happening series. We get a little bit of back-stabbing, poor communication, and the very little stakes of them being together, but nothing in the story gives, "Oh wow, this is getting good." Which is why I said I loved it in the beginning since the set up of the characters was nice, but it all comes tumbling down after maybe the 5-6th episode and things get boring.

But I do want to talk about some of the conflicts we see in the series, with one of the main ones being the situation with Drake's character and Boss. The stakes are there, but overall, it's a simple resolution and nothing serious happens besides a silly little punch. Then moving onto Tian's storyline and the troubles Cher had with his brother Troop, which is not given enough space to flourish. they delve into it a little, but it's so little that it doesn't feel fleshed out enough. They scraped the surface and that was it. I wish we had a whole episode dedicated to this storyline and dedicated to the story that they gave Tian. The same goes for Boss' mother popping up at the end to complain that Cher was a terrible choice for him. Felt like very cheap writing to throw in a last-minute problem that's given no real resolution, just Cher shows up to Boss' office and asks him to be his boyfriend and then it's all better. Okay.

Again with Book and Force's connection. Them being friends shows through their acting, and it's a good and a bad thing. In some scenes, it's perfect. They look comfortable, their dialogue feels organic, and their chemistry feels great. and then in other scenes, I feel that tenseness again, with the slither of awkwardness, and it gets even worse for some of the intimate scenes they have. Again, I judge harder on GMMTV series because I know they have the funds and means to do better, so I expect better, and that's why I'm going to go on a limb here and say that the kisses and intimate moment in this series gets a big ole thumbs down. Some weren't as bad as others, but boy oh boy, let them have a scene where they have to kiss just once, and I'm cringing. The dead fish kiss, the standing ten feet apart, Cher's eyes open doing their last kiss, all of it, just..bad.

Like I stated earlier, I see the growth in their acting which is why this series kind of worked for me. I see that they've tried their best with these new roles they've received, and yes, a lot of it could've used more work, but overall, it's good. The only thing unbelievable is Boss having the label as being mean and super demanding with his employees, when throughout the series he just felt like he didn't care about his job are the things his employees did other than getting him his coffee. But with Book, I think he did a fantastic job. Loved loved loved his character and the choice he made for him. came off as believable, and we see that immaturity mixed with his extroverted energy and his slight shyness around Boss. He did a really excellent job.

Onto the side characters, Mike is back and he was looking better than ever. He's always given the funny best friend roles, and just like in the other series, he did a great job. I would like to see Mike playing a character outside of the norms he's given because I really believe he has more to show. The side couple was very lackluster. Some random fainting, and a bunch of sweet nothings, but those two characters felt like a really odd pairing, and that never changed for me even by the end. Their skinship felt a bit forced, but at least Thi would be labeled the best boyfriend ever. The other characters, Tubtab, Porsche, and the office workers drove the story in a good direction but didn't really add anything (other than the fact that Thor's eye had me in a chokehold). What I really loved though was when their friend group was all together. It added in some great comedy moments and that was probably one of my favorite parts of the series.

Ratings:

Story: 7.5/10 - None of the stakes felt very stake-y, and this really was just some cutesy moments given to both Book and Force to execute which they kind of did. I'll give most of the stars to the Tian storyline that I was most interested in but wasn't given enough of. I also loved the friend group which felt very natural and organic on screen.

Acting: 8.5/10 - I saw so much growth in Book, and he did an excellent job. Force did well too, but I still see the parts in which he can work on those improvements. Maybe it wasn't him and more of the director's choice for his character, but I feel like he could've given us more. All side characters were good too, but the side couple felt way too forced.

Music: 6/10 - It wasn't distracting so good.

Recommendation Value: 6.5/10 - I would recommend this series over the other series they had, but I still wouldn't recommend this if someone wanted to watch a GMMTV series (that spot is still given to ATOTS, which is still GMMTV's best BL series). But Book and Force are two very beautiful humans to look at, so this series is at least not on the bottom of shows to recommend, I'll just say that.

Hang In There....It's a fun series.

At first, I was ready to drop this series after the first episode. I felt as though I was watching a handsome young CEO falling in love with a toddler. I found Cher's personality annoying at first. But...everyone here at MDL urged me to give it chance before I threw in the towel to move on. By the 3rd episode, I found the series charming, warm, and endearing.

After the 11th episode, I notice a lot of grumbling in the comments about how the story line was disappointing because of all of the on and off again break ups caused by Cher. The final straw was the Boss's meddling mother which caused Cher to leave the Boss once again. Unfortunately, these situations do occur, where parents meddle in the lives of their children to the point of causing disruption and heartaches. Yes...I know that we've all seen this before in BL's....and yes....I know that Cher has distanced himself one time too many from the Boss. But these types of breakups do occur...on and off again...especially when an interfering parent perceives there to be a class distinction between their child and the boyfriend/girlfriend. The reality of this is disturbing...but it's there...it's real. In this series fortunately, there is a happy ending...but all to often in real life that happy ending never happens because of outside pressures.

I give this series a thumbs up. Watch it. You will enjoy it.

Another Gem by GMMTV

GMMTV BL never fails to amaze me. I love the green couple! It showed some clichés and novel scenes at the same time. I loveeeed Gun, he is such a green flag. I also liked how they handled the boss intern taboo, they tried to knit everything up by showing that real emotions of any strong person in that situation- frustrated, intimidated, confused at first but then coming out strong by breaking all the barriers. I enjoyed the idiotic mishaps of the gaming gang, they are the true kind of friends that you need in your life. I was impressed by subtle presentation of mental health issues through Jack without over exaggerating anything. It was dark but shiny at the same time. It involved me into there struggles but the characters didn't make me sad, their zeal of fighting back the situations and being optimistic was truly inspiring. The part of this story that I loved the most was that Gun and Cher were shown as the two sides of same coin, both handled the tussles of their lives by hiding their emotions but in such drastically different ways. However, they slowly started trusting each other and opened their bare scars in front of each other. After a long period of time, a show affected me in such a positive manner. I laughed almost half of the series with all the cuteness at the same time empathized with the serious parts of the series. All in All 10/10

Delightfully shallow

"A Boss and A Babe" is a lighthearted office rom-com that serves as a perfect guilty pleasure for those seeking a breezy escape from reality. With its irresistibly charming male lead, Force, the show offers a visual feast for the eyes, while the storyline playfully dances around conventional office romance tropes. While it is not a show to be dissected for deeper meaning or life lessons, it does provide a humorous glimpse into the quirks and pitfalls of miscommunication that occasionally border on the toxic. Best enjoyed with a generous pinch of salt and a willingness to embrace its frothy frivolity, "A Boss and A Babe" will have you grinning as you indulge in its unapologetic simplicity.

Very cool and calming to watch, it just goes on...... pleasant!

Light hearted, comedy, mostly fluffy. One can watch this when you are feeling stressed and don't want drama in the series, this is helpful like you don't need to concentrate it just goes very smoothly and the cute scenes between Force and Book are soooo good super fluff they are.
PS: Force is sooooo freaking hawttttttttt
Book character is sooo funny the way he is very light hearted and the way he deals all his moments in his life calm and cool, it made me realize that there is nothing to be stressed about and the whole life will come together in the end even tho we dont get stressed. Force character is calm and proper CEO vibes he is giving, he is introverted but very bubbly when it comes to Book, I love how they are best frnds in real life too.
Do give it a watch!!!!! for cool series!!

Could’ve been 10 eps

So overall I liked this show, but it had the potential to be a love it show.

Force and Book really carried this show because there were some draggy episodes and some unnecessary plot points. Overall it could’ve been 10 eps.

They added some plot points that were left either unresolved or poorly solved

SOME SPOILERY BUT NOT TRUE SPOILER PLOT HOLES:

-Drake’s character and the stealing the company secrets, he kept denying it, so they could’ve added a plot twist. His friendship with Boss just fizzles and we get no deeper backstory either?
-Jack’s depression & failed prior relationship, they mentioned both several times but it added nothing to the main plot line so why keep mentioning them as if they were important to the story. I thought they’d throw us a curveball but I’m glad they didn’t make his depression a reason why he does something unsavory. (Which is why I thought that’s why they kept mentioning it).
-Tian, Thoop & the fam, so you gonna tell me they made Thoop’s arrest and fam confrontation such a big deal and then ‘resolve’ it off cam and now the fam is A Ok afterwards? Sorry the mom is unforgivable. F$#k that B1tch!
-Three & Zo were beyond cute as a couple but they had no major value add to the main GunCher plot line.

And lastly, Gun aka Boss fell in love with Cher’s voice because of ASMR vids he did, they didn’t film or show not one vid of Cher doing ASMR. It became almost irrelevant after ep 2.
