Excellent Chemistry and Development of Main Romance
“Last Twilight” is an unexpected delight. The biggest selling point for me is the chemistry and the relationship between the two male leads. Jimmy stole my heart here.I love Mhok, a total green flag. He was introduced as a ‘baddie’ but really isn’t one. He just had a tough life growing up and life threw him a bunch of lemons, but that didn’t stop him from being kind, hard-working, caring and considerate. He’s the perfect person to bring Day out of his isolation. He not only treats Day with kindness when he isn’t very nice. He is patient and slowly breaks down Day’s wall. He’s tough but supportive. He’s the perfect caretaker and friend. Day, on the other hand, is spoiled and quite immature in a way. He doesn’t really know what he wants in life when badminton is taken away from him.
Jimmy did a great job portraying Mhok. He was a little quiet and shy in the beginning but then the fun and flirty side came out. Sea portrays a blind person admirably but at times, his facial expressions appear a little bland. Comparatively, I enjoy Jimmy’s acting a lot more. Does anyone find Sea look like Zhang Ling He in certain angles? No, just me? LOL
I like the parallel life between Day and the character in the novel. It’s an interesting way to tell both stories and tie in the adventures of self-discovery and growth to the book. There are many other dramas about the visually impaired or someone living with a disability. But what differs and what I enjoy the most is the reminder that being a caretaker and a boyfriend are two very different roles. Many people do not agree with the decision in ep. 11. As much as Day’s mom hasn’t been the most supportive person in the world, her worry about Mhok’s role transition is valid. Could she have provided guidance earlier on? Totally. But then we wouldn’t have ep 11 and 12. Mhok and Day needed time to grow and mature. I don’t really think Mhok pitied Day, but he has his own baggage that was never resolved. He might not be as emotionally available as he thought especially to have a real relationship with someone that’s a little different.
I wonder if I would have liked the ending more if I had binged it straight from ep 1-12. Unfortunately, my timing was not right and I had a 5-day gap between ep 11 and 12. I think it might have affected my enjoyment of the last episode and all my criticisms are focused on ep 12. as it’s fresh in my memory. Yes, the chemistry is still there between Mhok and Day, and I enjoy all the flirting and teasing. But then, the lines become cringey, especially the last 15 minutes of the episode. Declaring your love for each other is fine, but doing so repeatedly in different ways becomes a little unbearable. Additionally, there’s quite a lot of time spent on the ending of Night and Phojai’s story. I like them and think they make a great couple. My problem is that the drama fails to show and develop their romance in the first 11 episodes.
Overall, this is a lovely drama and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s not my # 1Thai BL drama, but it’s definitely one of my favorites. I appreciate the non-dramatic acting, nice OST and cinematography and the lack of ridiculous plot twists and turns. And this is very personal, I am also glad that it doesn’t have the camera stay on the actor’s faces for a few seconds too long for dramatic effects.

Not just one of the best BL drama, but one of the best DRAMAS ever!!
I binge watched all 9 episodes in a day and it happened to be the best thing I ever did! This series was like finding gold in a desert (or some other good analogy about finding something worthwhile amidst nothing)
I had been watching couple of clips from this series on Insta and thought of giving it a try. Being Aof's directorial I did have some expectation but this exceeded all of it.
JimmySea chemistry is undeniable. Jimmy has grown so much since BBS, it was a treat to watch him here. Seeing these two in Vice Versa and now in this, it's definite that they have grown comfortable around each other and it shows!!
They took an ordinary trope and made something spectacular with it. I really hope they finish off strong as well.
Story is fresh and all the characters in the series make us fall in love with them. You end up rooting for them and cheering for them.
NightPorjai - two best people finding best for themselves
Aon - best character I have ever seen. He is so full of life and lights up the show whenever he's on screen.
Gee - with a friend like her, we can overcome anything
Day - shows in the best way that change doesn't happen overnight and all it takes is a little effort and someone trusting to take the first steps
Mhok ❤️ - OMG this character 😍 I could write a novel describing how perfect he is. He is the greenest of all Green flags. All his little nuances - making sure Day does things for himself, never putting too much pressure, little habit changes that he went through, standing on the sidelines when the person you love is with someone else.. I fell in love with the character. Jimmy portrays him so well.
Ratings:
Story - 9/10 (might become 10 depending on how it ends)
Music - 10/10 (Titles OST is lovely and the song suits the story so well)
Acting - 100/10 (everyone is just living their roles)
Main pairing - 100/10 (chef's kiss.. no awkward acting, no unnecessary jealousy storylines and glowing chemistry)
Re-watch value: 10/10

Last Cringe
Welcome to the last cringe a drama about a spoiled brat with 0 personality who losses his sight after an accident and pretty much blames the wrong person for his loss of sight and the lost boy in trouble who ends up taking the spoiled brat on a journey to adjustment in to his new found circumstances...Along for the journey we meet the cool bad ass all round best friends of both leads, and some other side characters that are better actors/actresses than our brat lead and also got more interesting characters, as mr brat lead may break out of his room adjusting to the world out there while managing to stay a self absorbed brat from start to finish. Seas acting feels kind of off, and I can not help but think that his smiles and tears look so forced that he looks like he is about to shit his pants... However he does do a decent job looking like a person that is visually impaired thus making me feel that boy has hope, just needs more acting classes and coaching beyond the vision part of the character.
Jimmy on the other hand seems to have gotten both the coaching and better lines. He rocked, had a lovely character that if you just put a side some self blame and self sacrifice was both fun to watch, lovable and versatile. Dude had character development, a hint of playfulness, was an all round good person etc
Very little in this story seems proportionate so the story is not very well written, the lines are cringy and there is some kind of theme of going from I hate you to ohhh you are the cutest little puppy, I am sorry I love you... with no process what so ever like flipping a light switch people go on and off and on again... I am not saying people should not forgive but come on you can not go from I love you , I hate you o I love you again without any reason.
Last but not least: Mark, Namtan, Kun and Film deserve better than this drama, they did a great job with what they got but still deserve a lot better.
That said it is an easy binge with a lot of fun moments, just to many moments of oh come on... and cringe... cringe... cringe...
Also: There is some serious Marry Popins bag action in this, as the boys seem to be able to fit awhole wardrobe in 2 small backpacks.

THE BEST BL TO EVER EXIST. perfection.
last twilight is so exhilarating. it is a masterpiece and a full combo of happiness, tears, sadness, sorrow, joy and so much more. i have to say no one can make series like p'aof he is a gem and creates gem. jimmysea and ohm, mark, cream, film have done a fabulous job, i loved the last twilight scene and i was legit in tears while watching it, the whole scene was breath taking. the ost is LEGENDARY.PERIOD. i became so emotionally invested in the show that i would just wait for Fridays to watch LTW, I AM SO HAPPY THAT I FOUND THIS. jimmysea are def underrated they deserve the world. to me LTW was not just a show but it was something which had so much weight, the characters their depth the character development the small details and everything was just perfect. the show gives you hope and tells you that this is not a faily tale .IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOME CHEESY CRINGEY BL THEN THIS IS NOT FOR YOU as LTW is simple beautiful and realistic, no bl could ever reach its standard. i would surely recommend it to people because of the plot, cast, ost, cinematography and everything. a 10/10 bl and show for me ( even straight shows don't serve us this beautiful and meaningful plots ).Was this review helpful to you?

Real blindness is the inabilty to see any hope
Ufff... What can I say (or not say) about this series?Been following JimmySea for a while (didn't consider myself a fan before, how silly I was) and was eagerly waiting for Last Twilight as everyone else. Started this journey not knowing that it would become literally the best series I would ever watch.
Let's start with the story and the writing. It's not like we haven't had this or stories before, but the way this was put together was everything. At first we all thought that the story would only focus on Day's struggles as he accepts his disability but I was really surprised to find that Mhok was as much broken as Day. It was not only Day's acceptance journey, but also Mhok's. They both helped each other to deal with their demons and to heal. Each moment was meaningful and key for their development.
The chemistry between Jimmy and Sea just got thousands of times better than before (and they were already there during Vice Versa, it just got better). Their acting, specially Jimmy's have improved a lot and they made me feel all kind of things. The romantic moments between this couple gave me all the butterflies and I suffered with them when they were broken. They felt like a real couple with all the subtle (and not so subtle) touches and kisses. The way Mhok loved Day was really wonderful to witness.
The music was amazing, some of the best OST's from as series, specially William's song. We waited so long for it but it was completely worth it and it came out right at the correct time.
The ending for me was perfect, not because Day gained his sight back, but because he was able to live happily as a blind man for 3 whole years. He succesfully graduated from college and opened his book store. And most importantly he got the love of his life back. That was all I needed for him to be happy. Him gaining his sight doesn't erase everything he (and we) learned.
Overall for me this is a perfect series, full of romance and hope and I will forever be grateful for P'Aof, Jimmy, Sea and the rest of the cast and crew for putting this together with so much love and respect.
I hope the future will be as bright as Day and Mhok's life together and that Jimmy and Sea can continue to work together because what they create is magical.

Awesome show – for about 90% of the time
===This section is spoiler-free===I liked “Vice Versa” and I liked JimmySea even more. Now I adore them. Their performances in “Last Twilight” are great and a must-see for all BL fans. The show itself is wonderful, with a well-crafted script, which gives a lot of time for the development of characters and their relationships. This does not mean it’s a “slow burn”: the series has a very strong start with a well done introduction of the cast and characters; it stays smart up until the last minutes of ep. 11. What follows – the ep. 11 finale as well as ep. 12 – is a big letdown; I was baffled by how bad, in comparison to the rest of the series, is was. More on that in the spoilers section below.
The script and JimmySea’s chemistry resulted in several great, deeply emotional scenes, which used Day’s blindness in a clever way; this was particularly well done in the final scenes of ep. 4 and ep. 9 (probably the best episode of the show).
“Last Twilight” has a great soundtrack – all 5 songs performed by GMMTV artists are very good, “ภาพสุดท้าย” by Jakrapatr Kaewpanpong is by far the strongest of them (btw: although the title of this song in English was given as “Last Twilight”, Google Translate and similar apps say it’s actually ‘last picture’ or ‘final image’ – which makes more sense than ‘last twilight’). Sadly the same cannot be said about the music used in the show, which is very uneven. The aforementioned final scene of ep. 4 has a great score, but there is a lot of scenes with needlessly loud and “dramatic” music used to underline their importance and/or generate an emotional response from the audience (as if the producers were not sure whether the audience will be intelligent enough to recognize what to feel while watching these scenes). Fortunately there is plenty of quiet moments and scenes to balance those loud and noisy ones.
Rating “Last Twilight” is tough as for almost 11 episodes it’s great, a 8.5 or more, but gets to 7.0 or less in the last minutes of ep. 11 and afterwards. As a JimmySea fan I’m giving it a 8.5 and regret this is not fully deserved (however a 8.0 would be unfair).
===Warning: spoilers below===
No idea what happened there, but minutes before ep. 11 ended the show stopped making sense to me. Maybe P’Aof and other showrunners decided that the “curse” of the penultimate episode must show itself and spoil the fun, maybe they wanted to generate drama, maybe something else pushed them to it – they made the main couple break up. Storywise it made no sense and basically it came out of nothing: up until that point Mhok’s and Day’s relationship was getting stronger and better, with virtually no sign of weakening – not to mention a break up. Day adjusted to being blind, Mhok got a new job and they seemed to be on their best way to be a stable, happy couple, developing their relationship with time. Where did the break up come from? I know that a “reason” for it is given in ep. 11: Day feels that Mhok “pities” him (which, for whatever reason, Mhok confirms in ep. 12), but it makes even less sense. How come it’s “pity” and definitely not love nor fear of losing Day (as he lost his sister) that made Mhok want to stay with Day instead of becoming a chef in Hawaii? Is there a difference between love, fear and pity or is the script deliberately confusing in this regard – because a pretext for the break up was needed? Note that Day broke up with Mhok within minutes of finding out about Mhok not taking the job in Hawaii – there was no discussion, no talking it over, no build up; Day made a 180 on Mhok and told him to go away. They both still loved each other (as we are told later), but had no contact with each other for 3 years, with Day blocking Mhok on social media. Once they meet after that time, however, they … become a couple again. What changed during those 3 years? How did the main characters change? What happened that Day agreed to be with Mhok again? Is Mhok living and working on Hawaii, visiting Day from time to time – is that the arrangement by the end of ep. 12? If so, why wasn’t it possible 3 years earlier? And why did he still fear Mhok would “pity” him? It may seems odd to dwell on the “pity” issue, but since this is the only reason for Day breaking up with Mhok (and the show having a time jump) – it should be explained. No explanation is given, however, and the issue is not resolved. 11 episodes of building a relationship and a few minutes to ruin it, because drama was needed; that’s some really sloppy and lazy writing. I’m not saying that Day and Mhok could not break up – I’m saying that a development like this needs to be justified, make sense in the show as well as fit the characters. Note that Day matured a lot from a spoiled, somewhat angry brat in ep. 1 to a self-aware adult who accepted his blindness in ep. 11 – and then he turned back into that brat to dump Mhok; this radical regression was necessary, as the mature Day from ep. 11 wouldn’t break up with Mhok.
There are similarities between ep. 12 of “Last Twilight” and ep. 10 of “A Tale of 1000 Stars”: the main couple breaks up/separates for a longer time, but later reunites; the separation/break up happen for no good reason and serve no purpose – the characters don’t develop, change nor become more mature. Even if they wanted – they couldn’t, as the years of separation happen entirely off screen. Tian from ATOTS “had” to obey his parents and go to study in the US; this is the same Tian who ditched his parents in ep. 1 and showed no sign of obedience or respect for them for the entire series – he became “respectful” only when the script needed it, probably because someone decided that splitting the main couple will increase drama (who could forget the tear-jerking airport scene?). Not only was it useless storywise, but also seemed disrespectful towards the audience: the love story was slowly developed over 9 episodes only to be interrupted with a pointless time jump of 2 years after which … we got the same characters as before the split. The same happened in “Last Twilight” and I’m beginning to suspect that P’Aof loves those pointless time jumps (remember last episode of “Bad Buddy”?). What a disappointing way to end a great show.

I did not watch Vice Versa so I am totally zero when it comes to anticipating the pairing of JimmySea though I saw Bad Buddy so I am familiar with Jimmy. But the chemistry is definitely more than what I expected. I can't describe into words but it feels like they are really destined. (Edit: I decided to watch Vice Versa and I realized that I should have watched it way before)
The acting is great (It isn't easy to act blind and Sea nailed it), the story is totally beautiful, and cinematography is perfect (how can i expect less from P'Aof?). The story of both main leads made me wish that I would find a love that is as pure, honest, and beautiful as them (where can I find my own Mhok?!).
The visuals are to be expected. hahahaha. like Doc Jimmy?
Totally a must watch. Been a bl fan since 2019 and this is definitely in the top list.

Not bad, just kind of boring
When I first started this, it didn’t blow my socks off, but I wanted to learn more about the characters and their stories. I enjoyed their character dynamics, and I liked Mhok.My main complaint is the pacing. The plot was full of fluff and filler that wasn’t necessarily bad, but also wasn’t adding anything. It had a bunch of overdone tropes and cliches with just okay delivery. I liked all the characters, and they all felt grounded and well-rounded. There wasn’t much character growth, and a lot of it is crammed into the last episode. Eventually it just becomes mundane and expected, causing the episodes to drag on. 10 minutes off each episode would have helped a lot.
The acting here was MUCH better than Vice Versa. Mhok was probably my favorite part of the series. Sea did surprisingly well playing a blind character. Despite the acting upgrade, there were still times I didn't love them on screen. Overall the whole cast did well. The pairing between Night and Porjai worked really well, and by the end of the series they were my absolute favorites.
About the controversial breakup choice, I thought it actually made sense. Mhok and Day needed to grow up on their own and figure out where they stand as individuals. What annoyed me more through a good portion of the series was the mom character, who I found selfish and her writing kind of half-assed. Most of the time her actions made sense, but for a good part of the time she also worked as a plot device to add drama.
The production was nice, and I liked the use of a wide aperture for the blurry effect. It was a good touch. It had some good moments, but at some point I was just waiting for it to be finished. A decent watch, but didn't live up to the hype. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, mainly because I would have trouble remembering its existence, but wouldn't advise them against watching it if they wanted to.

Umpteenth Review to Say...Yes, It was Good!
So, there are well over enough reviews on this to where I don't really need to write one but like for every series, I still will. Overall, I really liked this. Jimmy and Sea definitely showed how well they can act and act with one another. The plot is so authentic and new that it's hard not to enjoy where all these different paths will lead, with Day's sight, with Mhok's bad boy exterior, with Porjai's pregnancy, with Night's guilt, with August's angst, with Ramon's overprotectiveness, and just so much more. Even with my fondness, of course I still see a few faults in this series, but again, this was top-tier on GMMTV's BL list.Let's Dive In.
Again, I'll reiterate how I'm much pickier with GMMTV BL since they have the funds, actors, crew, and sources to do so, so yes, this series sadly doesn't sit at a 10 with me, but it's very close. Judging solely on episodes 1-6, this series deserves well over a 10. The setup, them meeting, the continued build-up of Day trusting Mhok, them slowly realizing their feelings for one another, their moments together, the subtle why Mhok showed he was listening and he cared (pretending to be blind, wearing the bright pink shirt because that was a color that stood out to Day, buying him slippers so he wouldn't keep hitting his feet, etc.), Day slowly realizing he needed Mhok a lot more than he realized, them slowly falling until it's recognized in a passionate rooftop kiss (of course it had to be on a rooftop, Aof's signature touch), and so many more that I could list out, but you get the point. Those episodes were so freaking good, it kept me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't stop watching, I couldn't stop falling more and more for this couple. 7-9 are good too, settling their relationship and easing into being affectionate and learning more and more of each other. 10-12 is where it falls flat for me.
I pretty much watched with it sped once we got to episode 10 and just kept that pace onward until the end of the series. There's a lot of scenes that don't drive the plot along, lots of just skinship and being cute and blah blah blah, and as much as I like that, it got to be a bit draggy. Along with that, Aof follows a strategic structure when it comes to how he constructs his plots. All of his shows follow the exact same formula, and now it's getting to be way too noticeable and way too repetitive, especially the time jumps (he loves a good time jump). So while watching, I'm catching onto what feels familiar which is causing me to predict what's going to happen next (and it does), so this series is something fresh, yet something so tediously recurring that it almost bores you to death knowing what's always coming next.
Moving onto the chemistry between Jimmy and Sea... *mwah* perfection. I'll admit, I was a little worried about how their connection would play out this time around since I wasn't very pleased with it in Vice Versa, but here, wow, I can see how much their acting and comfortability with one another has grown. Especially for Jimmy, who unfortunately still starts off kissing with his mouth open, but that's nit-picky, so let's look past that. But really, I love it, such an excellent job, fell immediately in love with their connection, specifically after the fish bowl scene. They have so many great moments together, but my favorite is them on top of the rock looking out at the last twilight, and Day saying he wanted Mhok to be the last image he sees before he goes blind instead of the one thing he's been fighting to see since going blind. Urgh, heart-tugging ain't it? Kisses were great, NC scene was beautiful, and overall, I'm happy with what we got.
Their breakup felt forced though, I won't lie. Day broke up with him because he said no to going abroad because he felt that he needed to be there for Day, which made Day feel like he'd had nothing but pity for him this entire time. Understandable, and instead of a breakup and just a, "let's not see each other for at least a year", they could've talked it out and it would've been resolved with decent communicating, but okay. The time jump was aggravating, cause that leads to so much room for the characters to change and become better, except they feel the exact same as they always did. They eventually get back together, through way too much trial and error and Day not taking any of the fault, but this is BL, so whatever.
I actually loved August's character, I could also in some way, relate to him, feeling so much pity or so much urge to make someone feel better that you'll do anything you need to, even if it means not being authentic to yourself. of course, what he did was slimy and terrible, but in the end, he did it because he cared so much for Day. Great addition to the series, along with Night and Porjai, great moments between the two of them too.
Now, where I get to be nit-picky. And before I say this, I'll just say that overall, Sea did an excellent job portraying a blind character, and I mean above any of my expectations. It's probably severely hard to act blind and be seeing, trying not to react to certain things with your eyes, not moving them too much, etc. Even with that though, my two main problems were that one, why the hell didn't anyone get this man a walking stick, and two, perception is still something a blind person who hasn't been blind all their life understands. One, a walking stick, how come he wasn't given one? Did I miss a part where Day maybe didn't want one cause he wanted to be independent, or something? Either way, he could've saved himself and Mhok so much trouble had he had one, it's idiotic that he didn't. Two, Day has been seeing for all his life, so he understands perception. In some scenes when people were talking, or he was eating, or doing something with his hands, it bothers me that he wouldn't look to that exact spot, instead he would stare off at the sky or wall or nothing. Now, obviously, he's blind, but he could still see shapes and shadows and colors, especially in the earlier episodes, so why not take the time to look down at your plate of food to try and use your best knowledge of perception to eat without getting messy? Again, it's nit-picky, and definitely not really a problem, but it's just something I happened to notice.
Ratings:
Story: 8.5/10: so, so, so good! it's such a fresh story that was given so many beautiful details and obviously given lots of insight from the blind community in terms of dealing with that aspect. It falls a little flat for me starting at episode 10, but I'm glad nonetheless with the way this series turned out, story-wise.
Acting: 9/10: Sea did incredible! Jimmy falling second behind in showing such good character development. All in all, the entire cast did a job well done, I have nothing in this aspect that needed fixing.
Music: 7.5/10 - You know what, I actually liked their singing, which in most cases I skip it.
Recommendation value: 8/10: I think this was such a beautiful production and some really good storytelling. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting something new and fresh to BL, and something that'll keep you on your toes cause this really did it for me.

Incredible Show
Last Twilight has become my ultimate comfort show. The story, the acting, the OST, the cinematography... We already know that everything P’Aof touches will become beautiful, and this show is further proof.
Jimmy, Sea, and Mark have done an incredible job bringing their characters to life and making me cry (happy and sad tears) almost every week.
This will easily fall into my top 5 Thai shows I’ve ever watched. I hope GMMTV continues to tell original stories like this, with their own book releases. It’s such a beautiful story and I can’t wait to see what P’Aof, Jimmy, and Sea accomplish next.
