A Shop for Killers

The main characters in both series are being chased by people who are trying to assassinate them. The main characters are able to defend themselves and use weapons; not only that, they're up against an organization with strong people.

The guardians do their best to protect their family from the psychotic characters in both of these series. They try to keep the child safe from the world in case of a crisis. The main protagonists gradually discover more about themselves and the past of their guardian. There are plenty of action scenes in both series that most viewers would find entertaining.

Both share the same general plot of a normal person getting involved with and having to fight against many dangerous people.

Both are dark thrillers, explore family bonds with action, strong female leads and deal with exceptional abilities.

Both dramas are action dramas, the characters aren't too black and white, good guys lose at times and bad guys win at times, and then the action goes the other way around.

Great action sequences in both dramas, great acting, very good leads in both of them.

Both dramas involve lots of gunfights (and some knife fights so far). Both MLs are retired soldiers (or mercenaries) and they didn't forget their training. Both dramas involve sidekicks who aren't what they seem to be.

Pretty good action, overall. Some interesting character portrayal, too. Recc'ed!

Kim is a single father raising his daughter while hiding a past he never tells her about, living what looks like a normal life as a bank manager. This reminded me a lot of Jeong Jin-man from A Shop for Killers, who raises his niece while running what seems to be a "simple hose business".

Both men spend several years pretending to be ordinary people, but they're actually incredibly skilled fighters with dangerous backgrounds. Jin-man was a mercenary leader, while Kim was a black ops agent. Jin-man's hose business is actually connected to a hidden weapons operation, while Kim keeps his past as a black ops agent a secret while living as an ordinary bank manager and single father.

The moment someone threatens the people they care about, that normal facade disappears and you get to see just how deadly they really are. Both are practically killing machines, taking down threats with superb efficiency. Jin-man is colder and more strict, while Kim is much warmer with his daughter, but both would go to any length to protect their family.

Both dramas feature protagonists, Jian and Gyeo Wool, with hidden lethal abilities and family secrets. Jian discovers the apparent suicide death of her uncle and is pursued by assassins, while Gyeo Wool is an undercover assassin. Both face threats from dangerous organizations and unexpectedly collaborate with other characters to survive increasing violence and danger. The plot centers on the combination of special skills, family betrayals, chases and unexpected alliances.
The protagonists are similar, and if you watch both dramas you will feel a dejavu between them.

Both story are about hiring killer to commit the act of killing. The Jap one shown a little bit of supernatural part of the ML. The Korean one shown how the protagonists survive the crazy attempt killing.

If you want to watch it, season 1 would be an obvious recommendation because it starts with explaining how and why things in season 1 happened.

gritty and witty, amazing character development, AMAZING plot development! both of them revolve around maintaining business order and their journeys while keeping hold of their positions in their said 'business'. more of description will be a spoiler, just give a chance to A Shop For Killers.

dark underbelly of teenage life, lowkey smart characters, double lives and illegal activities, and did i mention amazing plot? because the polt is absolutely amazing!

Full-on adrenaline rush. Non-stop action, good (or maybe not so good) guys against bad (definitely bad) guys. Both really entertaining.

Not very alike by story.
But vibe swiftness of action scenes and dynamic of actors feels alike.
Both got less then ten episodes and most of time its all about gun fight few against horde.

Both have complex characters and big issues, like death, suicide, money, etc. Also, they are violent as well and have great actors.

It's not such a developed story because one deals with revenge and the other with an experimental program on human beings but I found that the action side had many similarities with the lead badass, I think that if you liked one you can appreciate the other
