"나는 도망 대신 사랑을 선택할 거다."

?️The debut mini-drama of the director Lim Hyeon Hee is an incredibly lovely piece that made me smile all the way through it. It definitely doesn't fall into the category of "Competition for the most cringey skinship" but it feels that a lot of thought has been put into the making of the drama.

The metaphor and the premise - video game format to reimagine one's relationship + learning to not run away from your problems - make the drama stand out. But the viewers' love it earns thanks to the good chemistry between the actors and the gentle directing.

?️Originally, it was planned to be longer, and the director says in her interview that she has regrets about not being able to tell more about Wan and Ki Tae's past due to the nature of the short form. I personally think that the background could still be successfully incorporated, e.g. showing more by telling less, but what has been done is pretty solid already. Fun fact: Ki Tae only wears shorts because it matched the character so well.

I hope Lim Hyeon Hee will join Hwang Da Seul and other famous BL directors in this Korean BL Renaissance and bring more joy to the viewers, especially considering that her favorite genre is melodrama. 응원합니다, 감독님!

Soft and lighthearted story

This jumped into this drama expecting nothing but the usual clichés and tropes, and that's what I got... Except is executed in a pleasant and enjoyable way, which makes this one of the few Korean BLs I actually enjoyed watching.
It comes with it's flaws and it isn't perfect, but it really surprised me with how good the chemistry is and how the story comes together even though is really short.
I like how it approaches a topic like fear of separation, and it made me feel close to the characters.
Overall this kdrama is worth your time, so don't hesitate watching it!

Heart fluttering goodness

This series just felt sooooooo good to the heart. It’s one of those fluffy that was just the right amount.
We still got a lot of the Korean BL troupes in this but they avoided one major one and that’s what made it great. It really gave me all the right feels and boy was our couple really adorable. I absolutely loved both of them but I especially adored Shin Ki Tae, he’s honesty and openness was what endeared him to me. Plus he’s really so handsome.
Overall a fast watch that was delectable and heart fluttering.

Korean BLs Are the Best BLs

Our Dating Sim is completely original in its story-telling. The quality of production is excellent, as is the writing, direction, casting, and acting.

This series features two of the prettiest male leads of any bl series and they capture you, immediately with their acting and the characters they portray.

I loved it!

As with, almost, all Korean bl series, it could have been longer—in length of each episode and in number of episodes, but for being so short, they were able to tell a complete, fulfilling show.

DELITHFUL!

This series has everything you need. A good plot, great chemistry, romance, sadness and happy ending.
It got me hooked since the beginning, however I still didn't expect it to be this good.
The story is not complex or complicated. It flows smooth and gives you an insight of the past without dragging or rushing it. A simple misunderstanding that led to 7 years of longing and then they found each other again. No plot holes or confusion.
The actors are good, they were able to make me feel their emotions and their chemistry felt natural. I will have to give it to Lee Seung Gyu... the way I chocked when Ki Tae panicked and started searching and shouting for Wan and then started crying; I seriously was on the verge of tears. He is a gem and I hope to see him in bigger roles! Not that I have any complaints about Lee Jong Hyuk, but that's how the story was I guess. They both had good character development and they both as actors did a great job!
Bonus points for the kisses! No dead fishes liplock, ladies and gentlemen! The cute little pecks in between the main ones, made me giddy and smile each time.
Being a limited budget series, I have to say it's much better than some others with a lot more investment. No over the top make up, simple wardrobe- made them more realistic, well constructed dialogues and typical Korean humor here and there to make you giggle. The only upsetting part was that the episodes are to short, hence sometimes the continuity suffers. But you can draw your own conclusions without feeling confused or like you are missing something. We just don't get to see some scenes that would have been great to see, but the story still flows.
All in all, it's a make you feel good drama! it's on my favorites list now!

It was so warm and heartfelt with all the characters. Lee Wan is my favourite considering that by the end he is the one being affectionate. The scenes were done with no one forcing anything making it cringe. The pace was the right exact one at times and the character grew. I wish we saw more scenes when they were in high school to see that relationship blossom. Other workers I enjoyed watching especially how they treated the CEO but also Ian. The ending felt rushed as we never got a proper reason with him needed at the shop

A love story told in the best way

This show restored my faith in 15-20 minute long Korean BLs. They didn't drag out scenes unnecessarily, they didn't make us wait for anything and best of all the MCs had really awesome chemistry which made their PDA seem so natural. They need to make this dating sim game IRL so we can keep reliving the romance of Ki Tae and Lee Wan.

If you're looking for pure fluff to cleanse your palette of all the toxic BLs you've watched lately, this is for you. If you are fan of To My Star and Semantic Error and are suffering withdrawal symptoms from those shows being over, this is definitely for you. I cannot recommend this show enough, it's a good time all through especially if you've been a victim of unrequited love.

It's so good that It doesn't need a season 2, we just need to the actors paired up again in another BL. I hope they don't run away from BLs once their careers kick off big time after this.

PERFECTION!

Rarely does something comes along that I thing comes close to being perfect. But this is it. Sure, One can nitpick issues here and there with it, but overall, this is a fine BL series this is near perfection because of its quiet reflection about life. It takes the age old issue of youthful ignorance and turns it around into something of a Cinderella story, if you permit me to use that metaphor. The acting in this series is excellent. It never goes over the top and is never so overly dramatic that it spells over to becoming emotionally twisted. It is perfect for the occasion and is so genuine and real. In other words, this series has no artificiality to it which is so refreshing. This series is worthy of your attention.

Such cute chemistry and soft fluffy vibes.

I was so impressed by this BL! The chemistry between the actors was so good, i loved the goofy little scenes of the just hanging around each other!!! It made the relationship feel so real and I just love seeing the dynamic of the two characters in play. The fact that I wanted more of them just hanging around being themselves is a sign I loved the couple.

There are no overly dramatic scenes that make me roll my eyes or lines that are wayyy too corny and even though it did have the overly produced vibe to it that a lot of BL has, I didn't mind it so much since I liked the story.

Also I think the way Ki Tae expressed his anxiety was actually quite a heartfelt scene. The emotional beats did hit their mark with this show since I think there were just the right amount, balanced out with the more lighthearted stuff.

Overall I think the acting and chemistry carried the show with the foundation of the circumstances of the plot.

best kbl of the year so far

such a great series, definitely the best kbl of the year! the story is somewhat simple but it was very well done and filled out by the great chemistry that our leads have. sometimes its difficult to believe some pairings are into each other but i could actually believe they were into each other and wanted to be together.

solid acting from the cast especially lee seung gyu (ki tae). i could feel that he was legitimately worried and anxious about lee wan disappearing again. i found it very realistic that he would have this unspoken anxiety about lee wan leaving because of what happened before.

i also want to commend them for how they focused they were with the telling of the story. they focus on the relationship between our leads and don't really waste time showing scenes in which they aren't there. a lot of other shows with short run times still struggle with this. there isn't a lot of miscommunication (besides the obvious one) and the characters are pretty forward with each other which i loved.

watching the dating sim play at the end was so cute i loved that we got to see it! overall cant recommend this drama enough.

Cute couple but a little short

This BL has a bubbly feel to it, and all the characters add to this feeling. All actors were a joy to watch which made this drama flow very well. I do think that 15 minute episodes is too short for the story, especially with this cute pairing. I would have liked the episodes to be more around 20 minutes at least and for the first two episodes to focus deeply on the school era. a longer focus would have made the impact of the two being apart and then meeting again bigger.

There are two kissing scenes and they are both good. While the drama is short, the skinship is plentiful and feels natural. Overall, this is a rather calm and simple drama with no heavy conflicts or fights. Easy to watch in one or two days.

Essentially perfect.

No time wasted on side characters, no unnecessary drama, no sexual identity crises - just a cute love story with the right amount of fluff and plot.

Yes it's short - but considering that, they chose just the right things to leave out and the right things to leave in. The two leads are absolutely adorable together and have great chemistry. Rewatch level is off the charts because it's so short and every episode has great content between the leads that you will want to experience again. It's basically a perfect little bite sized BL!
