While Korean bl dramas have come a long way in a very short time, this series does not really reflect that. This series is on the lighter side, which is not in itself a bad thing; there's just not a lot of substance to it. It's 8 rather short episodes, and there's not a whole lot of plot that draws you in. There is a little bit of drama between Yul and his father and Yul and his ex-boyfriend, but there's not really anything that grabs you emotionally. Ye Chan is very goofy and almost seems to have a few screws loose. He's overbearing, and I didn't feel that the script really took time to developed the relationship properly between the two lead.

A True Love is Love Series

I don't consider this series your typical BL series, rather a Love is Love series. Couple number one is a male-female couple, and for the first time in a very long time, they aren't watered down or given a stupid vibe. There are definitely several BL relationships, and contrary to many series with multiple couples, they all seem to have complete storyline with real relationship issues. This cast really impresses me off screen as much as they do on screen. They aren't fake with the fan service we see sooo often. The music for the series is fun and upbeat, and other than the fact that it's yet ANOTHER university setting, I'm very impressed by this series.

Part 1 and Part 2 (updated)

Part 1: Payu and Rain
I have been waiting for this series to come out, and I'm thrilled to say my time was not wasted. MAME has delivered another hit as we've come to expect at this point. The scenery is as gorgeous as our young actors. This production company has a true talent for finding actors who have never been in a series but still deliver work as though they were seasoned actors. Boss and Noeul have amazing chemistry (both on and off screen I might add) and delivered in both the sweet and spicy areas. When you get to EP 4 you might hold your breath, but EP 6 might have you calling emergency services. Though I am saddened that part one of the series is complete, I am looking forward to seeing Fort and Pete light it up in part 2.

Part 2: Pai and Sky
Only the final series episode left before the special episode airs, so I feel comfortable writing my update. The storyline is still good. The music is still good, but the chemistry is a little off. I know given off-screen circumstances, it's unfair to expect FortPete to measure up to BossNouell, but even still it falls slightly flat for me. I will say, Fort is a beautiful crier and pulled heavily at my heart strings. On the other hand, Pete is a fantastic sulker, but not a great crier. They did seem to work well together in their NC-17 scenes, but the "red scenes" were a bit off-putting. That being said, I still love the series and recommend it for all BL fans.

I adore MosBank both on and off this series. They are so much fun to see interacting together. I love all the adventures they take us on with their YouTube channel, and I've actually suggested them to Mame for Techno and Kengkla in a stand alone series on the How to Secretly LURE my Boys Heart book. The Big Dragon series itself is coming along beautifully. The only reason I can't give the storyline full marks is because it's very reminiscent of The Tuxedo series to me, and it falls just shy of an original concept. However, the visually are quite stunning and the acting is on point. The OST is isbanky singing Dancing with the Devil, and while I do like the song very much and have added it to my favorites playlist; I think doing the entire thing in English was a mistake. English is far from Bank's first language, so some of the lyrics are hard to understand with audio alone. I think a mix of English and Thai would have made for a smoother and more elegant sound. All around, I'm very much enjoying this series and am looking forward to seeing where we end up in the final episode.

I’ve never in my life wanted to be a guy until I heard Mew (as Tharn) say “I don’t sleep with women.” This series is just about the greatest thing I’ve ever watched in the BL world. Season 1 and 2 and the specials had me staying up late and going into work the next day tired. The chemistry between MewGulf is incredible and this is the first BL I watched that had such passionate scenes. The actors portrayed their roles perfectly, including the ones you are meant to love to hate. Watching love grow from hatred is always a fun plot, but the story behind this hatred drew you in and gave you a heart for Type and his struggle. I love this screenwriter and the director. I have re-watched both seasons and the specials more than once.

I’ve said it in the live chats during the premiers and I’ll say it here too. It is really distracting for me to watch BrightWin in a drama where they are Bright and Win with other people. I’m hoping truly that this adaptation takes an entirely different approach and lets Gorya and Ren be together and puts Thyme and Kavin in a different type of role. However, since we all know how this Manga series ends, we know that won’t be the case and I’m attempting to mentally come to terms with that fact. I do love the entire cast, although in line with the Mandarin versions of this series, our female lead is too cute. She’s supposed to be very average and only the Korean version has done an adequate job of portraying that. Obviously this series is only a third of the way finished airing so there is a lot of artistic creativity still to be seen. I appreciate the real social issues that have already been addressed and I’m looking forward to seeing the direction the screenwriters and director take this.

When I first watched the trailer for this show I though Evan Lin was going to be playing a sexy bad guy. That is definitely not the case lol. I love the cast chemistry in this drama. Evan is gorgeous as always, Chen Xing Xu is also quite handsome and plays the lead very well, and Zhang Jung Yi is both precious and cunning in her role. The 1920s were such a beautiful and elegant era and it’s really refreshing to see a historical type drama in that setting. The costumes have a classic charm, the music fits perfectly, and the whole production really transports you back in time. Even without watching the last episode, I feel confident in giving this one a re-watchable status.

It’s fair to say that I’m bias on this drama because I absolutely love Liu Xue Yi in everything he’s in. Zhang Yu Xi may seem soft-spoken and timid, but her character is strong willed and determined to make her own choices after her ten year relationship with her fiancé falls apart. Li Ze Feng and Li Si Qi do an excellent job of making you despise their characters. Xue Yi is extremely sexy when he leaves the office and gets on stage with his guitar. Gu Zi Cheng and Zhao Yuan Yuan have a good chemistry going as a younger man pursuing an older woman (as a woman who tends to date younger men myself, I approve whole heartedly). We’re about half way through the season and I’m really looking forward to seeing how this one wraps up.

I appreciate series like this and Lovely Writer that take a look at the ugliness that goes on behind filming dramas and what the stars go through. I like that this one has both BL and non BL storylines. Oftentimes there is a lot of jealousy that goes on behind the scenes as well as encouragement that we don't see on the outside; and unfortunately sometimes fans can get a little obsessive and take things too far and stars end up getting hurt. We're also given a taste of how actors can be mistreated or favored by their company that they work for.
*(update) that ending left this wide open for a season 2! Love the twist of ep12

This Korean boy's love series only has one thing missing... the boy's love portion. Seriously, it's like they sat around in a brainstorming session and thought, "How can we give every BL lover blue balls?" This was infuriating. I am so irritated that I watched this whole series with no good resolution. I'm not sure if they got through too much filming before they did any love scenes and the actors were like, "nope just can't do it." I don't know what happened but this series was not successful. It would have been more successful to make it a "bromance" and cut out any thought of actual romance between our 2 main characters at all.

I love absolutely everything about this series. I love the fact that our female leads are in their late thirties. I love the fact that our male leads are in their forties. I love the fact that it depicts a huge variety of male and female personalities I love the female empowerment aspect without being overbearing. I love that the men are still manly, yet also have a sensitive side. I love the music, the storyline, the acting. This series might have bumped its way to my number 3 spot behind What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and My Roommate is a Guhmeo. Very well done.

Let's start with what's good about this series. Luke is so cute and his Thai is amazing considering he's Japanese-American and not Thai at all. Playing a model isn't exactly a challenge for him since that was his original profession. Our female lead, Namtan, is also adorable, and I appreciate that they didn't try to make her sexy. Poor Pod, as cute as he is, I'm sure he struggled with this role and for that I'll give him a big hand. We normally see strait guys having a hard time with their roles in BLs, so I can only imagine how difficult it is for a LGBT actor to play a strait role. Finally, the actress that played Grandma is cute as a button. Now, moving on to what's not so great about this series... Well, to make a long story short, all of it. The plot jumps all over the place, the remaining cast is sub par, and the ending is just ridiculous. Really? It's like one of those cheesey black and whites where they just laugh off serious issues with a "well that's Grandpa for you. We know how he feels about foreigners. Hahaha crazy old Gramps"...

I truly cannot take this drama seriously. It’s as if they made a drama series making fun of drama series. The overacting from actors who are, in fact, normally rather skilled, is confusing and adds another layer of ridiculousness on top of the existing one. And I’m still not entirely sure the purpose of the three candies since Guy never uses them and instead they get used by everyone else. Also, the relationship between Jing and Kana is just weird. There is one relationship that kind of works which is Viking and Tamtam, but even that seems very forced. Perhaps I was expecting too much going into this as I absolutely adored Kimmon and Copter in the Close Friends, 2Moons, and GenY series. I’m not expecting this to get any better prior to the finale, but I’ll keep watching in case I’m proven wrong.

I've seen other review saying that they expected more from this, but my reaction is the complete opposite. I was not expecting this to be nearly as good as it was. The visuals were stunning the costumes for both the god world and the human world were beautiful. The original soundtrack was fantastic and the actors of course are gorgeous. I will say I cried a lot while watching this. So much in fact, that I almost dropped it because I cried so much. I was expecting a different ending so I was pleased at the way it turned out. There are a couple of things that I think could have been done differently but overall this was fantastic.

There are things I loved and things I really didn't about this series. Love Johnny, in just about anything he does. Loved the chemistry between our leads including probably the hottest romantic scene in any non-bl that I've seen so far. The story itself gave me a hard time. He wants to give his life so she can live past the age of 25... and die. It's not like him giving up his power for her will let her live forever with him. To me, I'd rather keep falling in love at 20 years old, have 5 great years together, and keep repeating it over and over for eternity rather than live til I'm old and can't even enjoy my youth anymore then die and that be the end of it. Am I the only one who feels this way? Did he feel more guilt than love and that was the reasoning behind it all? I think it could have been thought out a little better.
