The story of 5 boys and girls living in the old street of "Junma Road". They went to the same high school and grew up together. Zhang Xiao Ran, a stubborn girl who lives on Junma Road, has four best friends: Zhu Cheng Hai, a poison-tongued academic genius who lives across the street; kind-hearted sunny girl Xiang Nan who could carry a bag of rice when she was just 6 years old; the handsome and quiet Zhou Rui who is Zhang Xiao Ran's cool nephew that's one year older than her; and Lin Tao, the happy pill that everyone loves. When you are young ...
I'm not a big fan of school dramas. For purely personal reasons, school dramas always have this thing about fighting and dreaming, and going to university. Also about friendship and building relationships. There's also that feeling of nostalgia, for something we lost or will lose.Thoughts aside, this drama isn't exactly bad, although it's not that great, and the ending left something to be desired.
What I liked: it's light, fun to watch, Cheng Hai's love for Xiaoran, they are cute together. I also like Rui and Xiang Nan together. In fact, her love for him was something very beautiful, since childhood, it touched me a lot. There was a scene of them, the scene on the beach where I cried. The scene of Cheng Hai and Xiaoran on the beach, the confession with fireworks was very beautiful. But him drunk saying to her so many times "wo xihuan ni" touched me more. He was always there for her, helping her, and that touched me.
When Tao's grandmother died I was also very emotional, I think only those who have lost someone will understand. I will always cry in this kind of scene.
I liked the way of naming episodes.
What I didn't like: It was a little dark and had a nostalgic feel.
It took Xiaoran a long time to realize that she also liked Cheng Hai.
For me, the ending was not closed, there were loose ends; and I didn't really understand what happened to Xiang Nan and Rui in the end. I wish they had ended up together.
Overall it was ok, it wasn't the best drama, but it wasn't something I dragged in to watch. It was light to watch, just the ending that could have been better.

So funny youth- sure does live up to its name...
Well well well... what can I say? I lowkey smacked myself in the face due to having blanked this drama before only to end up binge watching it in a span of 3 days. The fact that I managed to finish the drama is a BIG deal especially since this year there were very few dramas that have kept me interested till the end. The cast has PERFECT chemistry its like they just need to stand next to each other and the CHEMISTRY is just there. And SO FUNNY YOUTH. I was dying each second. Each ep never failed to make me laugh. Especially xiang nan - bless her. She is such a funny little soul. Xiao ran's smile kept me smilig throughout. If I had to name all the good qualities of this drama the list would go down forever. But if I must say downside to this drama then the only problem is that I NEED A SEASON 2 RN! But I must say I wanted to see the characters at least have more screentime at the end since the ending felt a bit rushed but the rest of the drama makes up for that. I never expected to cry but I did for this drama. If you are ever feeling down and U just need to watch a drama to feel better then THIS DRAMA IS FOR U. GIRL/BOY GO WATCH THIS DRAMA RN.Was this review helpful to you?
