I know the show has only just released 3 episodes, but I'm genuinely hooked on it. I also am happy that the omegaverse lore is actually accurate. I am entirely convinced at least one of the people in the writer's room has an ao3 account. You could tell me all of them do with the only proof being this show and I would believe you.Anyway 100% do watch if you are into that trope. (btw it's not a fade to black kind of show so far when it comes to kissing like some other BLs are)

As a fan of BL dramas, the first three episodes of *Desire* immediately pulled me in with its daring take on the ABO (Alpha, Beta, Omega, Enigma) dynamic. The chemistry between the leads is electric, and the tension is thick with both emotional and physical desire. The world-building is surprisingly solid for a genre that often leans more on romance than lore, and each episode leaves just enough mystery to keep me wanting more. The pacing is tight, the acting feels natural, and I’m already invested in how their bond will evolve. MY FIRST ABO DRAMA
it's been a while o don't write a review be the drama is "b aja / that it", but after i watch this one.. Idk how to feel but i'm obsessed with them. The story is sooo fresh like just out from the freezer, really cool and something new theme in bl drama series. I know abo is old-old wattpad story, but not with series like there's no country that bought this theme to their series, even thai that lgbt is legal(they had but just a bit, not the main story) and china make it even it's illegal in their country. Wow, i'm never expected to this time..I'm never read abo theme bl, but because of this series, i became interesting with abo theme. It's definitely so good drama, the actors, the story, everything even for 3 episode. It's exciting me when watch it, really best drama. If i can tell what bl drama the best in this year, i will tell proudly with this one, ABO DESIRE!
If you never watch or read abo theme, you'll addicted to this series, seriously. Try one and you will not disappointed or even need even more, XD

Quite possibly revolutionary in the BL genre

Soul officially vaporised at Ep9.
Jaw hitting the floor, screaming, head buried in hands, you name it. Writing this after calming down.
It’s done right, it’s sensual, it’s a red flag that would never be tolerated in the real world. But for the sake of fiction, this BL drama has truly, possibly, allowed me to experience and recognise what passion is supposed to be.
It has succeeded in invoking this intense, fiery passion and emotion for not just a show, but understanding what lust is for another person.
Trust when I say, it’s strange, as if awakening something long forgotten internally, and as someone with anhedonia, this drama is a personal miracle in making me feel – right from Ep1 itself.
This was completely unexpected, and sometimes unexpected has its own perks. I for one, did not read the webnovel (very glad of it) and don’t intend to until the show has finished airing.
Not everyone will favour this drama.To adapt this work is a risk in itself in Cdramaland for anyone that’s involved (we’ve seen c-actors in “scandals” in 2020 and 2021), but no one possesses a stronger vision than the author themselves.
Nongjian deserves credit to make this project happen and since the opening, she has delivered what I believe many BL enthusiasts – of the quality and story – have been yearning for.
She understands what the audience wants to see, and works her craft in order to make THOSE scenes work, because they alone do not actually leave the desired effect (and it’s apparent now more than ever many BLs end up relying on this and assume it’s enough).
Dare I say Ep9 is merely a climax of many to come…

Ep1-3 REVIEW:
The first 5mins of this drama has me on a chokehold. Not even exaggerating. The term Omegaverse has been thrown around in my radar but I never understood what it defines nor bothered to look it up. Curiosity failed to exist until seeing ABO Desire’s poster at another platform and on a whim, I decided to watch Episode 1 at 12am.
As someone who hasn’t the faintest idea of this trope, that first 5min is a delicious introduction to the world. The feeling is one that would be hard to forget, something like the jaw hitting the floor, thinking: WTAF.
It’s one thing to read about power dynamics through various story forms like manga and novels, and even come up with stories on your own, and another to experience seeing imagery that only existed in your head, to live in the screen. One could practically taste the absolute HUNGER from viewers at certain scenes, and it’s actually contagious.
Maybe there are different ways to centralise a story with Omegaverse, but in this case I absolutely go weak at the knees for a good hierarchy/strong power imbalance when done well (no shame in that).
That opening gave a taste of possible plot points to come (wealth divide, steamy scenes/slow burn, oh someone is going to get hurt, oppression and toxicity), and it provided more than enough reason to understand why this AU has garnered so many enthusiasts.
For Desire, it’s a world that is deeply unfavourable for the Omegas, who are either despised or lusted after, and in such an environment, how can a mutual, and safe relationship thrive between an Alpha and Omega that is more than just the Alpha abusing their dominance with “I want them, and I know I can have them” – I think that’s what this story explores. Already at Ep1-3, there’s been a lot of societal issues portrayed that is painful to recognise but commended, and it doesn’t just exist within the story. The theme of consent is very apparent.
So glad I clicked on this. In truth I was starting to tire from most BLs or DNF’d because most themes seemed recycled or include a lot of expl!cit scenes just for shock value.
It has been a whole year (I’ll call it a drought lol) since I watched anything of the sort. It was either immunity or lack of interest to continue the episodes. Personally it doesn’t seem so effective as intended when it’s hard to care for the characters.
The last quality BL I’d say remains as the gold standard is Semantic Error. Hope has dwindled since when it came to scouring every BL released to find one on par with this gem – one that does not depend on kiss or exp!c!t scenes to up the overall rating.
Looking forward to more, and will update. Just realised there are 16 EPISODES AT 50MINS EACH. Things really are changing for this genre.
If you are also new to Omegaverse, oh you are in for a ride (mostly gasping screaming crying on the floor with sensitive, anger inducing, even taboo themes that I never thought to see so boldly portrayed in a BL, let alone a cdrama). I’d suggest diving into Ep1 without any context or trailers.
Desire doesn’t just poke the boundaries of what had been allowed to be depicted in BL dramas all this time, they’ve been shoved more than expected. It is a miracle this even exists at all in Chinese dramaland.
And I just know for taking such a bold move in adapting this novel, success will be inevitable for the team behind it.

Since I’ve only watched one episode, I just wanted to state that I’m very excited to finally get a series set in the Omegaverse!My hopes are high that this will do the genre justice.
Do we have to worry that this will be banned before it’s finished, like we’re holding our breath for each new episode of Revenged Love? GOD—I HOPE NOT!

A série Desire foi aquele tipo de experiência que eu entrei mais por curiosidade do hype do que por real vontade. Sabe quando todo mundo tá falando, soltando edit no feed e você pensa “ok, deixa eu ver o que é que tá acontecendo”? Pois é. Eu fui. E olha, eu entendi o fascínio, mas também entendi que não é pra mim, e fiquei esperando esse último episódio sair pra finalmente dar meu parecer.A base é o Ômegaverse, e sim, eles realmente exploram bem as dinâmicas típicas do gênero. Tem tensão, tem hierarquia social, tem desejo, tem um monte de elementos que fazem quem curte esse universo ficar vidrado. Mas, tirando o tempero do Ômegaverse, o prato principal é um romance tóxico entre bilionários. E não é aquele “tóxico disfarçado de drama”, é tóxico mesmo. Eu sempre falo isso nas minhas reviews: possessividade e ciúmes doentio não são bonitinhos. E aqui, a série tem vários momentos que passam do limite, e não de um jeito que faça refletir, só incomoda mesmo.
O casal principal carrega a trama, goste ou não. A química dos atores é forte, e eles são fofos de mais no bts, e talvez seja a única razão de eu não ter dropado no terceiro episódio. Eles entregam intensidade, olhares, tensão, mas ao mesmo tempo é impossível ignorar a quantidade de atitudes problemáticas que vão sendo tratadas como se fossem gestos românticos. E aí entra a parte frustrante: a série tem potencial, mas se apoia demais no gênero e no carisma dos atores, esquecendo de construir um relacionamento minimamente saudável.
E se o casal principal já é complicado, o secundário consegue ser pior. O alfa simplesmente maltrata o Gao Tu de formas que me deixavam genuinamente irritada, e eu passei a série inteira torcendo pra ele se livrar daquele encosto. Mas não. No final, deixaram isso aberto, sem um ponto final digno, como se fosse “ok” deixar o destino dele nas entrelinhas. Que ódio que deu, sinceramente.
E quero falar de um detalhe técnico que me incomodou bastante: os cortes são estranhos e a quebra de tempo também, o que deixa tudo um pouco confuso. A sensação é de que falta ligação entre algumas cenas, como se algo tivesse ficado pelo caminho.
E o final… bom, o final foi o mais broxante de todos. Um daqueles episódios que te deixam olhando pra tela com cara de “sério que era só isso?”. O desfecho aberto do Gao Tu foi a cereja do bolo da minha irritação, custava dar um encerramento decente pelo menos pra ele?
No geral, eu entendo o hype, mas sinceramente, essa série é aclamada mais por ser Ômegaverse do que por ser realmente boa. Se você tem paciência, uma cabeça bem equilibrada e não acha ciúmes possessivos algo fofo, até dá pra assistir e tirar suas próprias conclusões. Agora, se você, como eu, tem o ranço acumulado de romances tóxicos sendo empurrados como “grande amor”, vá preparado ou simplesmente passe longe. Eu terminei mais pelo apego aos atores do que pela história em si, e honestamente? Não recomendo, a não ser que você goste de sofrer um pouquinho no processo.
Aqui tô sendo generosa em dar um 7 porque o Ômegaverse foi realmente bem trabalhando, apenas os atores merecem um 10 porque eles são fofissimos. De resto jogo sem dó na caçamba do lixo. E é isso.

ABO Desire tá incrível, principalmente para quem já está familiarizado com o universo ABO.
Estou amando até o momento, as atuações estão incríveis. Consigo sentir as emoções em cada cena e em cada personagem, a história em si é bem complexa e eu confesso que se não tivesse já tido conhecimento nesse universo de abo, provavelmente demoraria um pouco para compreender tudo.A china tá sabendo fazer bons BL atualmente apesar de sua censura, a história dos casais secundários é muito boa. Te dar um ar de querer mais e mais deles, apesar de fazer você passar por situações de raiva...
O casal principal também tá impecável de bom, estou amando o enigma e o ator que interpreta ele, consigo perceber que escolheram um ótimo ator para o personagem.
não tive contato ainda com a novel, apesar de que possuo ela comigo. E não sei ainda se irei ler quando a série terminar, vi alguns comentários por aí sobre isso e estou pensando nisso. Entretanto, tá sendo uns dos meus bl's interessantes da china até agora.
Espero que a série continue me surpreendendo como tem feito até agora, provavelmente vou gostar bastante mesmo assim.
os efeitos especiais estão bons, há várias partes que eu gostaria de ressaltar aqui, porém minha memória não é lá grande coisa de boa.

Me senti o meme do John Travolta ao finalizar esse drama...
MEU DEUS, quando eu achei que não poderia piorar, o 16º episódio me provou o contrário HAHAHAHAHAH Que final mais meia boca foi esse??????Eu estava esperando o drama acabar para finalmente assistir, mas não aguentei depois de tantos edits que eu vi no instagram nos últimos dias depois do episódio 15 ser lançado, então no dia 05/10 eu iniciei e finalizei os quinze episódios lançados até o dia 06/10, faltando apenas o último para finalmente concluir esse BL, mas já comecei a escrever porque realmente não queria deixar nenhum ponto de fora.
O tema pode ser super bombado para finalmente ter uma série chinesa lançada, mas nossa senhora, eu juro que não entendi o hype em cima. Atuações ok, música ok, beijos? péssimos! cenas íntimas? inexistentes! tema? show!
O omegaverse é muitooooo interessante, eu que era totalmente leiga no assunto, fiquei muito curiosa e comecei a pesquisar mais até mesmo antes de assistir e depois eu fui reler algumas infos porque depois de ver os episódios parecia que nada mais fazia sentido.
O drama focou tanto no Enigma, vulgo Orquídea, vulgo dissimulado, vulgo psicopata, querendo dominar/conquistar o seu Alpha, que simplesmente virou uma série focada no jogo de sedução do que tudo que poderia ser além disso.
A falsa fofura do Hua Yong deixava o BL bem cômico, ainda mais com as reações do Sheng Shao You depois de descobrir todas as armadilhas e mentiras. Essas cenas e reações me arrancaram risadas sinceras, mas só isso.
Já o casal secundário, coitado, havia um arco tão interessante e foi completamente desperdiçado. Seus poucos minutos em cena fizeram com que desejássemos mais, enquanto o casal principal já estava completamente encaminhado e sem muita novidade.
A série parecia mais uma sequência de jantares, idas ao hospital e reuniões intermináveis usando o omegaverse como desculpa.
Não faz sentido nenhum todo o plano do Hua Yong em relação a medicação/feromônios em público, meio que humilhando o Sheng Shao You para provar que ele se importava.
Enigma é superior ao Alpha, ok, os dois são dominadores e com instintos gritantes, mas nossa senhora, os beijos eram patéticos, não tinha nenhum suspiro para tentar elevar o nível. Os cios? Que seria interessante abordar mais em como o Alpha, Omega e o Enigma reagem em suas necessidades, não houve. Cenas? Muito menos. Não é a toa que a internet quase caiu quando a adaptação do universo omegaverse foi confirmada ontem, no dia 5 de outubro, com o Oat e o Boat, com química de milhões em My Stubborn, estou ansiosa para ver como Knot abordará o REAL omegaverse, como sua própria publicação enfatizou.
Agora sobre o final, simplesmente cortaram tudo que poderia ser relevante em um episódio final e pra que? Para mostrar cenas desconexas entre si e como sempre, só focando no Enigma, Alpha e Amendoim, e mesmo assim pulou-se sei lá quantos anos e para quando teve o reencontro do Gao Tu e Shen Wen Lang simplesmente encerrar no abraço e o que foi aquela conversa do Hua Yong com o Sheng Shao? Dele estar no corredor da morte com suspensão da pena? Entendi que é sobre o relacionamento dele com o Gao, mas porr, custava mostrar ao menos 1 cena?
Quando acabou daquela forma eu me senti o meme do John Travolta olhando para os lados tentando entender que merda foi essa...

Drama malsano ma con la sublime interpretazione di uno psicopatico
Trattasi di una serie BL made in Taiwan a tema Omegaverse, quindi un’ambientazione fantasy dove gli essere umani non sono più classificati in base al genere ma secondo una gerarchia di dominio alfa-beta-omega che contempla questioni come la gravidanza maschile, marchiatura, cicli di calore/furia legati all’accoppiamento e produzione di feromoni da ghiandole specifiche situate alla base posteriore del collo.Un panorama discriminatorio e prevaricante che sinceramente non ho potuto apprezzare, dove vige la legge del più forte e l’umiliazione dei più deboli è all’ordine del giorno.
La trama è esclusivamente al servizio del doppio pairing - principale e secondario - con situazioni forzatamente assurde e improbabili. Tanti gli aspetti, nelle vicende così come nella caratterizzazione dei personaggi, davvero poco credibili. Va detto che spessore della trama e coerenza non sono gli obiettivi principali del drama, che punta invece ad essere pioniere del genere, a dispetto della censura cinese.
Piuttosto noioso il pairing secondario dato dallo zerbinoso Gao Tu e dal suo capo/ ex compagno di studi, l’altezzoso ma per nulla acuto Shen Wen Lang. Di quest’ultimo ho tuttavia apprezzato le conversazioni con l’improbabile alleato, Hua Yong. Sono momenti un po’ assurdi, tra uno psicopatico e un ottuso, che risultano però a tratti anche simpatici.
La coppia principale posso definirla solo malsana, dove la storia prende avvio per merito delle mille bugie di Hua Yong, trasformando l’inizialmente arrogante e dominante Sheng Shao You in un burattino senza spina dorsale, pronto a voltare pagina dopo un’incazzatura davvero celere e a perdonare un trattamento a dir poco inaccettabile.
Pessima anche la gestione del tempo: la prima metà degli episodi sembra procedere a rallentatore, con l’impressione di un perenne procrastinare l’entrata nel vivo della vicenda. Gli ultimi episodi al contrario sembrano concentrati a dismisura: in particolar modo l’ultimo sembra il pessimo risultato di un “taglia e cuci” per inserire tutti i passaggi che avrebbero necessitato minimo del quadruplo della durata dell’episodio.
A fronte di queste critiche impietose, c’è da chiedersi perché sia giunta alla fine - interminabile, già che con un episodio a settimana la messa in onda è durata qualcosa come tre mesi - invece di droppare la serie a piedi pari.
La risposta è solo una: Hua Yong.
Personaggio , ripeto, malsano e che non può e non deve rappresentare un modello nella vita reale, indipendentemente dai trascorsi difficili che gli si possono attribuire. Meschino, subdolo, falso fino al midollo e disposto a tutto pur di raggiungere il proprio obiettivo e soddisfare quella che a tutti gli effetti è un’ossessione malata che si vuole spacciare per amore.
Pur condannando quindi il personaggio su tutta la linea, ho trovato davvero sublime l’interpretazione dell’attore - Huang Xin - che ha saputo portare in scena una figura da brividi, tremendamente bipolare e capace di alternare in modo a dir poco inquietante lo sguardo indifeso con tanto di occhi lucidi e postura remissiva a un portamento categorico, freddo e letale. Tanto è eccessivamente stucchevole nell’occuparsi del suo Mr. Sheng, tanto si rivela insensibile nei confronti del resto del mondo, con un disinteresse totale e una mancanza di empatia patologica da renderlo quasi non umano. Enigmatico - in tutti i sensi - rappresenta la vera singolarità della serie.
Davvero credibile nella sua facciata gelida, autorevole e autoritaria, dove si sente palesemente al di sopra di tutto e di tutti.
Ho seguito l’attore di recente anche in uno short drama - etero, non BL - dove al di là della bassa qualità della serie ha dimostrato ancora una volta di essere performante nel ruolo del protagonista freddo, distaccato e tagliente.
Per quanto mi riguarda salverei quindi solo questo aspetto del drama, ovvero la prova di talento del sopracitato Huang Xin e la speranza di rivederlo in una serie dal contesto totalmente differente ma con lo stesso tipo di caratterizzazione che, a quanto pare, è davvero nelle sue corde.
Per il resto, visione per quanto mi riguarda molto discutibile, credo apprezzabile solo dai fan del genere che, a sua volta, è un po una derivazione di nicchia del filone fantasy slash.

Plaisir coupable et manipulations folles dans l'Omegaverse...
Ce premier vrai drama omegaverse a été une réelle surprise. À la fois intéressant et fascinant, malgré quelques imperfections. Être dans une société divisée entre Enigma, Alpha, Bêta et Oméga a ajouté une nouvelle dimension, apportant une note d'originalité, et me rappelant aussi les webfics' M-Preg (Male-Pregnancy) que je lisais, adolescente.Je ne pourrais pas regarder exclusivement ce genre en raison des dynamiques relationnelles (absence de consentement, inégalités, discrimination…). Cependant, le seul pays qui pouvait en produire un et le rendre si fascinant, c'était la Chine. La première partie était superbe. La seconde a eu quelques moments intéressants, mais le rythme laborieux a été une épine dans le pied.
Sheng Shao You (Qiu Ding Jie) est un Alpha de classe S, soit le second plus haut statut dans la société omegaverse. Il est le PDG de Shengfeng Biotech, une société leader dans l'industrie biopharmaceutique. C'est un homme intelligent en quête d'innovation dans son domaine. On pourrait le qualifier d'homme à Omega sans attache, jusqu'à ce que Hua Yong entre dans sa vie. La performance de Qiu Ding Jie est satisfaisante, même si elle manque de profondeur. Cela dit, l'acteur s'améliore au fil des épisodes (peut-être était-il plus à l'aise ?). Le problème avec le personnage, c'est qu'il représente un cliché des romances contemporaines. Sa seule distinction est son statut d'Alpha qui n'est pas particulièrement mise en valeur.
En apparences, Hua Yong (Huang Xin) est une délicate orchidée. Pourtant, derrière la beauté de son visage, se cache un Enigma obsédé qui vit, respire et pense Sheng Shao You. Hua Yong est un manipulateur fou à lier, prêt à tout pour obtenir ce qu'il veut. Sheng Shao You n'avait aucune chance. Dès le départ, il l'a manipulé avec un plan méticuleusement élaboré, et lorsque ça n'allait pas dans son sens, il vacillait légèrement, mais il ne perdait jamais de son assurance. C'est un égoïste qui n'aspire qu'à satisfaire ses désirs personnels, et pourtant, dans toute la contraction de son comportement, on sait qu'il aime sincèrement son Alpha. La performance de Huang Xin m'a fasciné. Elle n'est pas sans défauts, toutefois, il a su capturer l'essence de son personnage. À la fois doux comme un agneau, chétif comme une biche et féroce comme un loup affamé.
L'alchimie du couple est bonne, et s'est améliorée au rythme de leur développement. C'était notamment visible par les baisers qui sont devenus plus naturels et jolis. J'ai beaucoup aimé leur complicité qui n'a cessé de se décupler, en particulier dans les derniers épisodes.
Je suis d'accord sur le fait qu'on est censé pouvoir apprécier une adaptation sans son support original, cependant, c'est agréable d'avoir un point de comparaison pour saisir les nuances des personnages. Pour cette raison, j'ai passé un certain temps à lire les commentaires sur MDL des personnes qui ont lu le livre afin de mieux comprendre les personnages (et certaines scènes). Cela m'a donc permis de constater que la scène de l'hôtel (épisode 9) entre Hua Yong et Sheng Shao You est totalement différente entre les deux versions. Il est évident que le livre l'a intelligemment pensé, mais l'adaptation a échoué.
Malgré la simplicité de l'histoire du couple secondaire, il y avait du potentiel, mais le peu de temps d'écran n'a pas suffit. Gao Tu (Li Pei En) et Shen Wen Lang (Jiang Heng) formaient un bon duo, mais les scénaristes ont saboté leur arc en ne donnant aucun espace aux personnages. Leur histoire commençait (enfin) à bouger dans l'épisode 14. Seulement, à ce stade, il ne restait que trois épisodes (14, 15 et 16) pour tout boucler, c'était trop peu. Les miettes ici et là étaient franchement injustes pour eux. Je peux concevoir des problèmes de censure et des soucis de montage, toutefois, c'était décevant.
Sur le plan biologique, l'histoire reste sobre et ne s'enlise pas dans une multitude d'informations scientifiques indigestes. L'univers est en place dès son introduction, et les explications sont données au travers de dialogues simples et efficaces. Il n'y a pas de grands mystères ou de rebondissements inattendus. Oui, c'est parfois dramatique, théâtral et kitsch à souhait, mais je n'ai pas cessé d'attendre l'épisode suivant avec enthousiasme entre sourires et fous rires. Et cela, malgré une précipitation dans les derniers épisodes.
En bref, ABO Desire est un plaisir coupable qui jongle entre unicité et fascination, même s'il perd légèrement de son charme sur sa seconde partie. Cependant, grâce à son casting et sa bande originale, c'est un omegaverse que j'ai aimé suivre chaque semaine avec une très bonne dynamique d'ensemble.
